    P R O T I P S
A few keys that might be important to perform your skills. The goal isn't to teach you everything from A to Z there are courses for that.
If you want to know perfectly how to do it please contact me or www.waggaschool.com.
While attempting these tricks keep in mind that I am not responsible for you or your safety and by that, I decline all responsibility in case of an accident. These videos are just a few tips I share with you, from pilot to pilot. If you have any questions feel free to ask and I will gladly answer back. Have fun !
    CONDITIONS
To do this exercise you need a certain power in your glider that you will get because of the wind.
It will depend on the type of wing you have, but you generally need about 15km/h of wind
    BACKFLY
First of all, before practicing the Ground Spin you have to be able to inflate your wing only with the brake.
It would help you to understand where your stalling point is.
Be sure to know how to inflate your wing in Backfly before starting ! This means 70% of the job is done !
    THE ANGLE
To start spinning the wing you have to put it at a 5° to 10° angle on the side you want to spin it. Otherwise the wing will take the wrong direction while finishing the spin or you will end up stalling it.
It's possible to start from the center and it's even easier that way with some wings.
    SPIN IT
Start to spin it by pulling the inside break and don’t forget to keep a little bit of contact outside to anticipate the next step.
    AFTER 180°
After spinning it, the wing will change directions of flying after 180 rotations. The glider will want to fly again and take energy while the leading edge is facing the ground
To avoid destroying your leading edge on the ground, you have to make it fly on the tail. That's why it’s important to know how to inflate your glider in Backfly and where your stalling point Is.
Don't forget that you already started braking the outside in order to find your stalling point at the right moment
    INSIDE BRAKE
You want to keep the pressure on the inside brake but beware that it will be more sensitive as this side of the wing is already backflying. If you loose the pressure you probably are braking too much.
In every acro trick the game is to keep the tail as clean as possible. It’s the same here don’t loose the pressure on the tailslide.
    OUTSIDE BRAKE
You will have to pull harder on the outside brake as this side of the wing is taking speed and energy. You have to progressively brake until you feel that you loose pressure on that brake. But don’t loose the pressure or it will take the energy out of the wing and start flying on the tail.
You probably have to wait a certain amount of time while braking in the same position because you need to wait for the wing to loose the speed it gained before. If the leading edge hits the ground you are probably not braking enough.
    THE MOMENT
At one point you will feel that the brake pressure changes as the wing will start to fly on the tail.
At this moment the glider will go a little bit up.
When the glider passes over 200° of rotation you can start releasing the outside brake and let it fly.
    MOVE YOURSELF & WEIGH SHIFT
If you don’t have the perfect wind and start. You probably have to move yourself.
The game is to keep the tension between you and the glider if the wind is not strong enough or if the wing spins too much on the side or too slow.
It’s simple as when you're groundhandling. You have to follow the center of your wing.
Play also with the weight shift depending on the tension on the raiser.
    MISTAKE
Here are all the mistakes that I saw on a take off.
Backflying with the brake over your head. It doesn't help the tail, because you don’t have the perfect curve to fly again.
Starting the spin on the wrong angle.
Overbreaking. Just a back flying lack of skills
    THE END.
Ground handling is fun so enjoy ! ;)

Hi Tim, I see that in the last moments of this video went the wind gets gusty you just simply spin the wing towards the windward side and let it fly to you and eventually grabbing it, this is one of the best techniques I have seen to depower the wing, could you throw some more light on depowering the wing this way and how to actually change the direction of glider towards the windward side?

The BEST ground spin instruction video I’ve seen so far! It’s broken down logically and concisely with text overlay to keep the lesson flowing smoothly. And the music - it is so good. Who is that? Thank you

Well Done. ! Is IT important to Have some slope ? I had a problem keeping it high enough on a flat ground even though I know the stalling point very well ( with my normal size ozone Delta /gradient Aspen). I Felt the Wind Is going straight or even Down. Is IT even possible with those conditions ? Thx .
