    finally there's a video of this laptop, not a single professional review outlet or channel has reviewed this laptop yet. ur the first! I was disappointed it does not go all the way back on the screen hinge The previous generations did. I'm also waiting for the haptic touchpad option to launch which is supposed to be an option on this laptop

      just to add ....the haptic touch pad option on this laptop is confirmed for usa, the assigned SKUs already exist but they just have not gone on sale yet.

      With the 185H and Arc graphics, would you recon it performs similarly to 780m laptops in games, e.g. the 14" ThinkPads?

    • @viperx100
      @viperx100  Před 4 měsíci +2

      @@kompassorpigo7600 currently ARC with the core ultra 7 155h performs worse than 780m but it is possible that with time, some patches and optimization it might level the playing field (pun intended). Original benchmarks favored 155h but actual gaming tests didn’t back that up. There are a few videos out there showing them side by side. D2D had a pretty good one. That being said, I tried out a few Steam games on the 155h (X-COM 2, DOTA 2, Counter Strike, and Halo Reach) and they all ran beautifully at high settings. I think that ARC is a huge step up from last gen’s Xe but if you read up on some Lunar Lake and Arrow, they look very promising in the GPU department. Also, keep an eye out on Snapdragon X Elite!

      @@norcalpacific thanks for the love, homie! You already know this I’m sure, but the 3:2 ratio screen is amazing for productivity and really makes the 13.5” screen quite usable. The haptic touchpad would really make this Lenovo a gem. There’s nothing like it out there when you factor in the form factor, aesthetics, processor, battery, speakers, build quality, etc. Lenovo did really well. This ThinkBook should have gotten more press time, for sure.

      @@viperx100 I've heard about the somewhat underwhelming real life performance of the 155h, yeah. Doesn't your config have a 185h though? I was primarily concerned about the top tier Ultra chip put in such a tiny chassis. Ultras supposedly use more watts than Ryzens to achieve the same performance. Talking 50-60 watts needed from an Intel APU to achieve the same FPS as a 30 watt AMD APU would achieve.

      @viperx100  Před 4 měsíci +1

      Absolutely! It's a monster of a battery considering the small chassis. With no OLED to drain it, the battery lasts a very long time. If they offered a Core Ultra 7 with lower TDP, it would last even longer. Sadly Lenovo only gave either a Core Ultra 5 or 9 options. I belive that Core Ultra 7 155H is the sweet spot for most people.

      @viperx100 Thank you 🤗 By the way, about temperatures: even two coolers don't save the laptop from noticeable heating, but this is not surprising: the case is small and everything is very tight. I can’t even imagine what is happening on u9, and I don’t really understand why u7 wasn't chosen for the top config? Although, even in the case of the latter, the cpu would have to be throttled quite a bit... In fact, the u9 is a really good solution for thin gaming laptops with a large screen, where you can provide a much more impressive cooling system and install larger coolers. The Zephyrus G16 is a good example of this! See you on AMD streams 🤜💥🤛

I've heard people mention about ForcePad concerns but I promise you that it can't be worse than their ClickPad which is awful. The top half doesn't even register clicks, only taps. Haptics are usually the preferred premium option on any laptop. @@kengurukapromesse9781 the experience with the laptop was mostly positive. The battery life is really good (easily all day for work). I’ve tried both the clickpad and the haptic touchpad. The latter is definitely the better of the two but it has a slight buzzing sound when clicked. If you tap it, there’s no issue. The Core Ultra 9 is overkill for this laptop because of its small chassis. It overheats badly. One of the users reported a melted strip around the screen. This is sure to the exhaust vents and the hinge design. Core Ultra 7 would have been the sweet spot but it wasn’t an option. Very quiet and a great screen for a non-OLED. Great build quality and amazingly small and light. The speakers are ridiculously good for its size. Definitely an unexpected bonus! Hope this helps!

      So on the USA Lenovo site, there are only two options for this laptop CU5 and CU9 with RAM and SSD upgrades. I don't see an option for the pogo pins for the magnetic attachments. Like you, I've also seen images online without the pins. That being said, without you actually attaching anything to them, there's obviously no battery drain happening but it would get rid of an option that you wouldn't use personally, so I get it.
      I've heard people talk about the haptic touchpad version and even some people commented that in other markets they are able to select it, but the US Lenovo reps haven't confirmed a date so I decided to tough it out with the clickpad since most of the time I tap instead of click anyway.
