- Dwayne Johnson reveals a first look at his physical transformation for 'The Smashing Machine' on Instagram. The WWE star turned actor now looks to the world of MMA, playing legendary fighter Mark Kerr in the Benny Safdie-directed biopic. Dwayne is joined by his old 'Jungle Cruise' co-star and playful press tour frenemy, Emily Blunt.

We’ll see how it goes though, I don’t know if he’s secretly a good actor but if he’s willing to ditch his perfect likeness and his no-loss clause it’s at least a pretty good effort.
Up an coming Rock was fun. The rundown, faster, and his iconic performance as a gay minion wannabe actor in Be Cool were way better roles than whatever he's settled with now

I hope they do this justice cos the documentary was an amazing film. They started before kerr and his problems got seriously out of hand and caught some classic no rules fighting and his rise to the then top mma promotion Pridefc. From a true machine, headbutts for 30 mins to a man with terrible addictions. Mark Coleman made a comeback and the film/doc caught it all. The legendary Igor V also in the mix. Watch it now if you haven't!

I'm glad to see some recognition for an early UFC star. I hope it does him justice. As others have commented, we already have to actual and original "Smashing Machine," so do we need Hollywood to dramatize it? I guess it can help new MMA fans appreciate him and the early years of UFC. I think when people talk about the "early years", they're mainly referring to the Royce years. I think we have less recognition of those Mark Kerr, Mark Coleman years, prior to The Ultimate Fighter making UFC more well-known to the masses.

Benny safdie is a good filmmaker... They just shot a movie in 2019 with one of hollywoods biggest schmucks and still turned out a great film with a great performance by Sandler.@@Gramercy_Stiffs
