1/2 glass water
1 tablespoon Muscovado sugar (optional)

I also put everything 🔥 HOT into jars to vacuum seal and sterilize in one go!! Glad to know someone else Aldo does that. My jams lasts for ever in the vacuum sealed jars. I use "pre-used" jars.. just wash them and dry.. Walla!!

I love figs. I freeze some of mine and have them in winter. I use them instead of ice cubes, and when they unfreeze I eat them. All I do is put whole ripe figs in plastic container with a lid, and put in freezer.

This is good timing. I harvested some June berries (Amelanchier) and blended them, then put them in a container with vodka. They must have a lot of pectin because they clumped into large chunks after blending. My idea was to only make a liquor, but because of the pectin, I might be able to use the chunks to make a June berry vodka jam. Thanks for the inspiration as always.

These ~3 weeks, the upscale supermarket where I live in Los Angeles, USA has this kind of black figs on sale, since they are in season, for USD $5.00/pound (~0.454 kg); normally they are much more expensive. They are expensive because they are too fragile and therefore hard to ship.
