This game makes me wonder what Mario 3D All-Stars could have been: spiced-up graphics, new cutscenes, additional modes, a new soundtrack, and of course, the absence of a limited-time retail sale.

I think people expected too much from 3D All Stars. It was just supposed to be a port of the first three 3D Mario games on switch. While I do wish it wasn’t limited time, I think HD graphics, new modes, cutscenes, and soundtracks would feel wrong
Yes it should have been better than it was but the games in this collection r mobile apps and apparently it's got a tonne of glitches and the developers came out and said they hate this game lol

"Knuckles is an idiot for teaming up with Eggman." How the hell was he supposed to know? He sits there, guarding the Master Emerald his whole life and the (presumably) first person he sees clearly just got his ass beat. Id be more surprised if he didn't given how naive Knuckles is at first.

Really enjoying this new direction for the triggered series. Makes it feel more original and the going back and forth on the good and bads of a game is really nice. Plus it’s just nice not having to wait for the second video about the good of a game. Keep up the good work Nathaniel!

@Darth Vader I mean, tbh, Its not as great as it was advertised. Paywalls, Music change, *_Many bugs... More than the original games had,_* and so on. Not to mention, its true that this is one of the many Classic Sonic collection games. Tbh, the only good things I can say about this game is the fact that the cutscenes are well done, I love the Menus and the improved fps, and Mission mode is actually fun (retrying special stages is awesome too) besides that, It was kinda overhyped to begin with
Nah, I prefer the original style.
I love how some of the "bad" are nitpicks or actual issues that already existed in the original version, and the "good" also exists in the original and some of the improvements already came from the mobile ports
0:32 The pixel art was not "redone" for any game though, it just looks better because it's rendered natively on the resolution you're playing on instead of being emulated at its original resolution and then stretched to fit your screen.
I’m not sure if he mentioned it but they added in the unused sprites/put in some new ones for the games, which deserves praise. Some examples are obvious when you’re spinning on things like the Barrel, or Super Sonic’s corrected quills sprites. It’s a stretch but I think that might be what he was trying to say, or this fact should just replace that part.

@@myguy4203yeah sonic 1,2, cd have almost no changes to them except for the drop dash I think, sonic 3 was made from the ground up which is why it fixed those things while sonic team just did the porting of the mobile ports

I really hope they are allowed to release some patches and updates for the game because I would say this could be the definitive official versions of these games.
Or even an update that adds other games like sonic 3D blast or the games from the game gear

As a huge Sonic fan I've actually never grew up with the classic games I grew up with the Adventure games and the dark age games and Generations.
I played the classic games last year and honestly the only thing I like about them is they can be fun and alittle uneasy as well, Sonic origins gives me more reasons to like them like the cutscenes and adding everything together it's awesome!
Same! I'm a huge Sonic fan as well but I grew up with the ps2 Sonic games such as Sonic Riders, Sonic gems collections and Sonic unleashed. I think that the classic games are fine but my only favorite ones are Sonic CD and Sonic Mania.
@@sonicmaiden2871 I only like CD and 3&K the original and second are fine and I just do not like Sonic Mania one bit expect for the final boss as Super Sonic.
@@YuriChan640 I like the soundtrack of 3&k. The original tracks for Ice Cap Zone and Launch Base Zone are my favorites! As for Sonic Mania, I can see why some people might not like it. It's faster than the original Genessis games and has less platforming in some levels.
What I do like about the classic's is the atmosphere of it, It gives me Sonic.EXE vibes and because the games have some creepy music (especially CD) it makes me feel like unsettled.
@@YuriChan640it makes sense. The Sonic.exe fan games and creepy pastas were mostly based on the classic Genessis games. I don't like creepy pastas in general though.

Nathaniel, how is it that years later you still don’t know that those launcher things in Wing Fortress only kill you if you hold right? Just leave the control stick neutral, and you’ll get launched across to the other side. Just remember to jump over the second one or you’ll get launched right back.
I have arguments against every thing hes triggered about except for the menu ones, those suck

6:07 How Sonic Origins triggers you. Yeah I'm triggered too but at 7:23 I actually think that's a cool mechanic, releasing enemies instead of animals, it's like how you can put enemies in blocks in smm2, and like the fake flagpole in 3D World.

0:45 Well joke's on you, since all this so called Classic Mode does is remove the 16:9 aspect ration and Drop-Dash, otherwise it's the EXACT SAME VERSION. So technically yes, there is legitimately no reason to ever play that mode.
Well, the Life system is there but it still respawns you on the last checkpoint, so it's pointless as well.

From an art perspective, these games are beautiful.
I’m not even JUST talking about the cute cartoon art style for the cutscenes that I have dedicated my time to learning(as I’m honestly hoping to do art stuff for Sega one day myself)

I totally agree with the level select thing, it's even more shameful that the mobile ports of sonic 2 and I think 1 had these but not in orgins bruh it's so annoying
Also how can it be a collection, Sonic Jam, from 1997 gives you far more options for how you wanted to play the games than a collection from 2022 where in order to get all the bells and whistles of wide screen you must play it this way (Anniversary Mode), and ONLY this way.

You can access the level select like any other classic sonic port by headcanon. You just gotta know the code

The remixes of the prototype tracks in Sonic 3 should have been better. We all knew the final Michael Jackson tracks weren't going to return, so the new rearrangements should have sounded on par with other tracks in Sonic 3.
The S3 Complete versions by ValleyBell sound good
They literally sound less finished than the prototype ones despite being supposed to be a finished version for them

as someone that played sonic 3 and CD i love that i can play the older sonic games.

You forgot to say that the special stages in cd are even worst: first the controls, they are fine, but once you bounce on a bumper wall it is a chore to regain control of your character, secondly, hitting the UFOs is pure luck, sometimes you jump thinking you will get it but NOPE it stays intact, third the fact that when you hit water you lose a lot of seconds in the time limit, they could have did it better if sonic just, fell into the water and reappear on the stage
Oh and also don’t think that using coins will help, you will keep losing and losing and losing. I only got 4 of the time stones with that method, and 0 without it.
If you hate the special stages so much and you still want the good ending just travel to the past and destroy all those hidden robot generators

2: i spent the game getting both the generators and time stones
3: i still needed to complete them to have access to their time attack versions that i needed to unlock sound test and, most importantly, level select
Well yeah but the time attack version of it is a complete joke consider that you don't have a time limit which means if you touch that weird liquid it won't be a big deal

Knuckles was secluded on floating island for his entire life with no interaction whatsoever, so you can't really blame him for teaming up with Robotnik, especially after he lied to him about Sonic and Tails

It's literally the exact opposite. The PC versions are rearanged from the genesis version. The original versions were leaked a few years back. Michael Jackson made his music after the original versions were composed.
