- This is a good one. We get to see the Raven Guard in full-on sneaky mode and the World Eaters doing what World Eaters do. This is 3000 points, a mission straight out of the book. Classic Warhammer Horus Heresy.

I love 40k (play Tau) and have no hope of playing 30k but absolutely love these battle reports. They feel like the 40k I learnt and tell such a great story!

Great game and I love that you play RG! Don't underestimate standard Assault Squads for eating charge phase reactions before the Dark Furies jump in, and as others have said, Deliverers are just awesome :)
Im loving 30k more than 40k now bc of the fumble of the rules retiring models and the elimination of subfactions practically

Just a note on Hold the Line, if you fail the leadership test, you actually flee. I couldn't tell if you were doing that or not, and it's an odd rule.

Just confused why you didn’t ‘intercept’ reaction the rampager deep strike. Was that an oversight or have I misunderstood the rule? Could’ve wiped them out and saved the speeders
I had an interceptor reaction on the Dread but you have to declare it and stand still in your movement phase, which I did not do.
Never played heresy. Looking at Salamanders once I have the time love the batreps

i dont play herasy cus its too expensive but i love the old school rules it has from back when i started 40k as a kid.
Most heresy stuff is cheaper than 40k stuff, tactical marines are cheaper than guardsmen after all. Its only the resin stuff thats pricy

I don't play 30k and still like watching. I also exclusively play competitive match play 40k. Your channel is a refreshing memory of a simpler time before I started playing sweaty. I used to watch you before I ever played for a year or so. Just enjoying the presentation and voice.
I’ve not played HH, but myself and friends have been going back to playing 5th, and HH is very similar. 10th to me just feels so bland and point & click

the speeders being swept like that was mad. lost you the game for sure.
Yeah, I don't mind HH but the rules that lead to that happening are janky. They got charged by a single guy and despite losing no models lost the combat because of another charge 8" away from a strung out unit? Then that single guy swept and wiped out 3 vehicles which he could barely hurt.
I don't think the rampagers should have been able to sweep as they were still locked in combat with the tacticals? Downside of the multi charge
@@chriswaterworth2991 I assumed they could as they lost coherency with the unit they had charged due to the models removed as casualties. But I don't play HH so could be wrong.
Moving away from 40k and getting into 30k is the best decision I've made in the hobby. Now my mind is at peace

Is there an Apothecary in the Dark Furies squad? He'll debuff their charge bonus from +3" to +2" as Apothecaries can't take corvid pattern jump packs and only has a 12" move. You determine charge modifier by the lowest movement value in the unit.
Get a Cataphractii box and make some Deliverers Winters. I wanna see how well they do in your games!

Merry Christmas (Eve), sir! You have now pushed me to a hard decision. You know I love your battle reports. Great scenery, beautifully but simply filmed, gorgeous armies, lovely lore, and fabulous guests! You are why I now kinda sorta understand WH40K. But you push me, sir! I found you around 8th edition 40K, so that's what I know. I love your 40K reports, but HH's differences play with my head. I start to watch them and then my lack of understanding of the rules knocks me, as they say, all cattywhampus. But I'm going to figure it out, to the extent that I can enjoy the HH reports as well.
Heresy rules are really good, much better than 40k as sad as it is. Definitely recommend learning them

Don’t play heresy! And if I wasn’t so invested in 40K I do one. Unfortunately I like Mechanicum or Solar Aux which are way out of any reasonable price range short of selling a kidney and I have great job 😂😢
it is almost certain that early next year solar aux will launch for horus heresy in plastic ;-) keep an eye out.

Hey winters, I know you are spending time with family and I hope you’re doing well. I am currently stuck in the hospital with a gallbladder that ruptured like a damn werirdboyz head. Due to this. I will be unable to play a game I had coming up with the vilka fenryka. If you are up for it. I would love to see the howls of the hearthworld call upon the new year, it seems I shall be stuck here for some time

By the way Winters my favorite Space Marines chapter is the Consecrators. They are canon Dark Angels Successor chapters. I am SURE you know that. What do you think of the Consecreators chapter? Please let me know.

I wish HH had more stuff for the non marine armies but the rules are so much better than modern 40k I’d still rather play it. Thankfully 7th edition has the best of both worlds
