While South Park is a show that primarily focuses on the kids, many episodes focus on the adults. And while there are a lot of bad eggs in South Park, we will be looking at the kids’ parents, specifically their moms. Surprisingly there are some good mothers in South Park. There are moms who truly care about their child’s well-being. However, there are also the bad mothers and the mothers who can be straight up evil.

I think Tweek's mom should be lower. She knowingly gives Tweek meth coffee and encourages him drinking it. The coffee has actual meth in it.
Agreed,she may seem innocent but she definitely isn't,I feel bad for poor tweek since he (if im correct) doesn't know that his parents put meth in his coffee it messed him up quite a bit,but I'm glad that when they are older tweek Is calmer and less anxious because I'm guessing he doesn't have coffee as much and the meth isn't in it anymore
tbh i dont believe tweek drinks meth coffee. yes the Tweaks put it in the coffee they sell at the shop and seem to take some meth too as Mrs tweek mentions being high in one of the games, but at home they could easily serve him meth free coffee (which is still bad obv)

While this could be the case, Tweek is also the tester of Tweak Bros. He tests all the blends in the back, which means that he is drinking the coffee served at the shop. While his coffee may not ALWAYS be laced, the ones he's being told to test very likely are.

Because Wendy is a minor, her mother would’ve had to sign permission forms before she could get the surgery, so she still must’ve allowed it in the end and signed for her

@@madokami03 Right, but Wendy as a character represents the type of feminist that think that every thought and feeling is their god giving right. She thought and felt she needed them. As far as shows go, South Park is all about social commentary.
I actually like Sheila. She is the most interesting mom in South Park, and although she pretty much invented the Karen trope before it was a thing, she has her good sides: She protected Sharon from the Jersey women, she tried to cheer Kyle about being from Jersey, She was honest with the other moms about how she lost weight, she tried to go with Gerald's sexual fetishes' when she thought he was into pee, she never hits her kids or verbally abuses them even though she has a short temper, she takes an interest in their school education (too much though), has one of the healthiest marriages in South Park, is obviously very protective and loving towards her kids.
She also wanted all Canadians deported and sang an entire song about killing Canada while her youngest child is adopted from Canada.
@@cassier8414 since she is a cartoon character, I think it is forgivable or at least can be overlooked just like all of Carman's actions. Out of the moms in the show, she is the most entertaining in my eyes. She is morally grey to say the least.

@@cassier8414 I think she is a very grey character, like the majority of the SP characters. I don't think she is a good kind person but I think she is trying to be to the people she cares about, which is saying a lot compared to the other people on the show.
Bottom line, I just find her amusing. When she comes up on screen, I know it will be funny, especially with Cartman involved.
with how horrible of parents the broflofvkis, mccormicks, and stotchs are, you have to wonder how kyle, kenny and butters didn't turn out to be monsters like cartman has. the fact all 3 turned out the way they did is surprising considering the kind of people their parents are
I would argue Cartman's mom is most evil pretty much raising Cartman into little hitler since lets him do whatever he wants.

You did Kennys Mom dirty. She isn’t a great wife and always fights with Kennys dad, but she cares deeply about her children. She won’t use swear words around them teaches them to share and be humble. When Kenny ask for something she will try her best to make it come true (like in the episode where Kenny learned to sing and went to romania)

I've seen lots of comments about people "enabling" others. This is pretty much a buzz word nowadays, and it's making people dumber for throwing it around so haphazardly. For example, Sharon "enabling" Randy is seen as a slight, but the fact is Randy is out of control and she's not enabling him, she doesn't have the option of controlling him like a parent, Randy is the way he is and it's not any of her fault "enabling" him.
*ENABLING* in the negative term is when somebody knows someone is out of control and they use that for their own means. Sharon supporting Randy's ventures because of an opportunity that can open up for her is enabling. Enabling isn't not being able to stop another person's bad behaviour. This is the kind of mentality that blames the wife for having a shithead husband when she isn't a shithead herself. It's only enabling if they organise ways that this can profit them. I've not seen Sharon do that. Just say she can't get her husband under control, don't say she enables him because that makes her sound like the wicked witch letting everything play out so they can do something for their own gains.
The only time I can think of her supporting/going along with Randy's antics was when Randy went to beat up the mormon neighbor and that was like the one time he didn't go through with it lol
True. A good example of an enabler is Cartman's mom, as seen in the tssst! episode.
An enabler is the guy that invites you over to have a drink when you are quitting drinking, just because he is alone and only drinks socially.

This is going to sound weird but I think Carol should be in the grey area. While she is an alcoholic and a drug addict, she loves her children seeing as how Kenny, Kevin and Karen turned out to be decent kids. Carol was also helping Kenny be a singer and helped him travel to Europe. And she told kenny he should do more stuff with his life instead of playing video games in the episode "Best Friends Forever". Plus Kenny became a scientist in Post Covid. Whereas with Liane, she is less angry than Carol, she is still responsible for Cartman turning out the way he is.

I don't think you're factoring in that the moms at the top of the list were not shown as prominently throughout the show as the other moms.
Love the video and research but Stan's mom is the best out the OG moms.
No she isn’t, she’s done horrible things too more than once throughout the show.
Sharon isn't exactly a saint.
-She allows Randy to be abusive, especially to Stan (shown in the streaming wars when Randy called Stan a c*ck sucking c*unt).
-She joined in "Mothers Against Canada" in the South Park movie resulting in a war, Terrace and Phillip being executed and wouldn't listen to Stan. Tho it was mostly Sheila's plan, she still joined into something totally wrong and horrible and only realised her mistake when Stan and the children got involved.
-Allows Randy's antics and won't put her foot down when she gets fed up.
-She doesn't believe that Shelly has been beating up Stan for a long time and even if it happens in front of her, she is in denial.
-In the episode "clubhouses" when Sharon and Randy get divorced, she says Stan is the reason for their divorce.
-She wouldn't let him listen to Tween Wave band just because she didn't like it, Randy actually mentioned it isn't their place to decide what their son can and can't listen to.
-And finally, allowing to stay with Randy on his weed farm. It's clear that her, Shelly and Stan are unhappy and hate the situation, but she won't divorce him after he's done so many terrible things.
She may be the voice of reason sometimes, but has her downsides.

If we’re considering the first several seasons then I don’t think she’s a very good mother. In season 2 or 3, Randy and Sharon got a divorce and Sharon IMMEDIATELY had another man Roy move in with her, Roy walked all over Stan and was verbally abusive to him, and Sharon took Roy’s side and scolded Stan
In the episode spookyfish in season 2 I feel like Sharon should've done something about the fact that Stan was killing people even though he wasn't she just said "I have such a good boy" in most episode she is the more reasonable parent I just didn't like her as much as I usually do in that episode
Let's be honest Sheila is a crazy mother but at least she loves her son and cares about him and wants the best for him same thing with Ms Cartman but the worst and most horrible mother of all time has to go to Linda terrible mother especially how she treats butters.
I agree, in my opinion Sheila should be at the end of the gray area because she receives a lot of character development after the movie, actually becoming one of the more sensible parents on the show. Even if she's a strict mother, being strict doesn't necessarily mean that you're a bad person. What do you think?
Sheila is a Karen but she does care for her children compared to other mothers in the show. Also Butters does have the worst parents
@@cailieisidro5758 Sheila's not even that much of a karen. While she's often overbearing, it's done out of a desire to protect the children of the town, and she never uses her privilege as a means of oppressing others. I think Mayor McDaniels is a better example of a karen. She's extremely judgmental of everyone around her, constantly uses her power as mayor to repress the citizens of South Park, and everything she does seems to be done solely to feed her ego and/or further her career.
Also, I don't see the harm in her trying to stop the Christmas play. America is supposed to be a secular country, and plus, having a Christmas play could easily make the kids who didn't observe Christmas (such as her own son Kyle) feel alienated. I know this because I'm Jewish and don't observe Christmas and so I have felt this way a lot.
Also, she is a hypocrite, she wanted to make a war to Canada in the movie and yet she has an adopted Canadian son
Sheila is neutral. She's evil but only because she gets REALLY pissed off with Ike and Kyle on the computer. She's actually a nice woman

Butters parents are more abusive to Butters worse than even Cartman.
As much as quirky Randy is, but he's never grounded Stan like Stephen does. He's instead always trying to make the good examples for Stan but Stan is always act mature than him and tired of Randy's bullshitness.
You know what they say, "all children deserve mothers but not all mothers deserve children"
Carol isn't that bad. She actually loves her kids, same with the dad. But y'all won't talk about that.

Like the way she's screaming out 'Not my babies! You can't take my babies! My babies' you can tell she definitely loves them and doesn't want to lose them.
The kids definitely need to be taken away away and her and Stuart need to go to rehab and parenting classes, but by South Park standards, they're not that bad.
They genuinely are hurt anytime Kenny dies and they go to all of their kids events. You always see them in the crowds.
Stuart didn't even seem to have an issue with Kenny dressing like a Princess, he just said 'what the hell is he wearing now?'. Sure he was surprised to see his son in a dress and wig, but he didn't try to discipline him or tell him to take it off.
@@cassier8414 also Stuart agreed to play catch with Kenny in episode "Cartman joins NAMBLA". And Carol helps Kenny become a singer in "Quintuplets 2000".
If the McCormicks werent an alcoholic, drug addicted mess they would be in the grey/good area.

Yeah she’s a good mom. Not the best but not the worst. She’s definitely good in my books.
Honestly, I think Sheila has eased up a lot as the series went on. In her early appeareances, she was willing to use violencre to stop a violent or vulgar kids show. After the events of the movie, it seems her opening the gates of hell made her reconsider some of her life choices making her less overprotective. Also, I honestly believe if there is a cause to fight for and you manage to get Sheila on your side you will have a strong ally at your disposal.
Right now, I see her as trying (and mostly failing) to be a reasonable authority person. When she invites her nephew Kyle to spend time at South Park, she decides to call him Kyle, but her son Kyle Two (while having some fun with grammar) so her nephew feels a bit better while at her place. She also made the sensible choice to leave the unpleasant envioronment of New Jersey when she got news of being pregnant. Personal, I think her talk with Kyle being both part of New Jersey was a really tender moment, trying to explain to her son what's going on.
Also, when Ike's biological parents wanted to see their son, Sheila allowed them to see him but asked to never visit again out of genuine concern of her son's well being. One can consider her reaction cruel, there was no malice behind her decision and she did show some empathy.
Also, her boss fight in Fractured But Whole is initiated, because she believes her family (or rather nephew) is in danger, showing a rather protective side on her. And Her son is even aiding her in battle, indicating that she can't be that bad of a mother if her son is fighting for her.
While not the most pleasant person in Souith Park, I honestly would pick her on the lower end of neutral mothers. She is trying her best and her actions are based on her kid's well being, while usually failing at bein reasonable and her actions usually based on her being concerned and not malicious. And as said before, her worst traits have declined since the movie.

Unpopular opinion: Shelia isn’t a bad mother she cared about her kids. And for getting in a fight over the play, she had every right.
I'm surprised Lynn Cartman is in the Bad to Evil Category. I think she'd be more in a neutral center. In her defense, she usually means well in the very least.
She does love his child even though she often gives him what he wants and isn't a good mother. However she should be the first on the bad area replacing tweeks mom

Personally I think she isn’t evil but is a horrible mother. Take the episode: pigs and elephants which cartman mentions something about being humiliated for her sexual purposes
I would switch Liane & Caroll because for the most part you can blame their behavior on their circumstances and she does care for her children, unlike Cartman’s mom who clearly doesn’t care about him. What kind of mom would let their child turn out that way, being FULLY AWARE of how he is and does nothing.
And also she only let Eric turn back to the way he was because Cesar wouldn’t be her friend.

I don’t like Carol McCormick but compared to Stuart, she does care for her children more. Liane on the other hand does let Cartman do whatever he wants despite what a real mother would do is when their child does bad shit like him, they would get punished. In newer seasons, she does begin to believe that his actions are dumb but she should’ve made an act because anything worse happened

Liane is the perfect example of mothers (especially of sons) who use their children as their man/friend because they’re lonely.
I also find it worth mentioning that, according to the character descriptions on the SP website, Carol is 26 whereas her husband Stuart is 42 and their oldest son Kevin is 13, meaning that she got the pregs from a 29 year old at 12 or 13. Still, she is the more responsible parent as well as the breadmaker.

Sharon marsh is way better than Clyde’s mom and deserves a better ranking closer to the good section

I agree. I’ve seen more times where Sharon cared for Stan than Clyde’s mother showing care to her son. Also I personally don’t like Clyde’s mother because of Reverse Cowgirl (Even though Clyde should’ve put the toilet seat down, she’s such a dumbass where she could’ve just looked at the toilet seat and put it down herself. It’s not hard to do)
Don't forget, Sharon was hiding evidence of her "son's murders" in Spookyfish, even knocking out Barbrady with a shovel and keeping him captive in the basement, taking his pants off for a reason she wouldn't answer.
@ModestNeko. I agree. Here's some other reasons to why Sharon isn't a good mum:
I'm the episode "Clubhouses" she really was treating Stan terribly. First of all, she openly blamed Stan for her and Randy's divorce. She also said he's the second most important thing to her. She got a with a new guy way too quickly after she told Stan about her and Randy's divorce. And in "You're getting old" she banned Stan from listening to Tween wave just because she didn't like it. Even Randy (surprisingly) defended Stan by saying that it isn't up to her for deciding what Stan can and can't listen to. And she joined Sheila in executing Terrace and Phillip. Although it was mostly Sheila's doing, she still decided to side with her not realising how much of an overreaction this was and only realised her mistake after Stan and the other children were getting involved simply because they were in danger. Its clear that she also loves Shelly more than Stan because she doesn't believe Stan when he says Shelly beats him up and she killed herself in "post covid" because she couldn't deal with Shelly's death (Spoiler: Stan burned the farm without knowing Shelly was being punished in the barn, causing Shelly's death). Lastly, letting Randy getting away with his antics. Randy is incredibly selfish and he only cares about getting high. Which is the reason why they live on a farm. Randy can be emotionally abusive to his children and only cares for himself and his weed. Sharon yells at him about his mischief but he ignored her and continues to treat his family like shit. She will not divorce him yet which is bad for Stan and Shelly as the more they stay with him, the worse he gets. By doing so, Sharon also has a selfish side. She won't divorce him probably because she loves him too much but it is clear her and her children are unhappy.
Sharon is one those woman who had so much potential but end with some like randy why is that they end with stupid men.

Yep. That's why I have a head-canon that Sharon eventually does divorce Randy and gets a place back in South Park. Has the bulk custody of the kids and ends up with a nursing degree, something she's wanted for years but never had the opportunity to pursue since Randy is such a shithead.

its true, and i always found it interesting how stan's future is mapped out based on which parent is the prominent force in his later years. randy is always a terrible influence and brings out the worst in stan, meanwhile sharon's caring side as a mother is seen in how stan is the most sensitive/empathetic of the main 4.
@@princessgotchi I also find it interesting how Cartman's future is mapped out based on who he hangs out with. In the original timeline, in which he breaks it off with Stan, Kyle, and Kenny and starts hanging out with Jimmy, Clyde, and David, he becomes a kind and noble rabbi with a wife and kids whom he loves very much. What episode was this and I didn’t know that. To be honest, it’s tough to raise a child with a disability/disorder as well as one being disabled but that doesn’t make them bad people. Speaking of God, everyone is human. As someone with Autism, I do despise people who think those things are a threat to the universe. Another good South Park list and spot on rankings! My only criticism is with Jimmy's mom who should be further down in the good tier because she and Jimmy's father said they believed that Jimmy was intended as a vengeful punishment to them from God because they made fun of handicapped people earlier on in their lives, which isn't life advice for Jimmy to live by and that they do talk down to him sometimes. Bet we all wish we had parents as good and as successful as Tolkien's!

I think Sharon should be in the good section. Here are some reasons why. Firstly, she doesn't abuse her kids. Secondly, she seems to deaply care for her kids. For example, when there was a shooting at Stan's school, she tried to comfort him and talk to him about what happend. She was also seen crying heavily at Shelley's funeral in the Post Covid special and even took her own life out of devastation. In my opinion, Sharon is the best mom on South Park. I also think Carol should have been in the gray area. Here are some reasons why. Firstly, she seems to care deaply for her kids aswell as Sharon. For example, when she got arrested, she was seen shouting, "My babies! Don't take my babies!" Secondly, she traveled all the way to Europe to help Kenny become a beeter singer even though she is poor. Even though Carol may be drunk or high a lot of the time, she doesn't abuse her kids and I can see that she really does love them and care for them.

Kenny's mom should be a bit higher. Of course, she is not a good wife, and not really a good mother, she loves her children so much. In one of the episodes, she is asking the kids where her son went, and having a breakdown. That is, one because she was drunk, two because she loves kenny. When Kenny dies permanently, Carol has the ashes, and is devastated whenever she is around them. She also tries her best to do what her kids want. Even if she is very poor.
Carol is not a bad mom she should be in the grays because she's acoholic and drunk but she still loves her kids

I used to find Liane the worst mom ever because of how she was basically creating a psychopath but my opinion of her in the latest seasons completely changed. That's because the writers approach to her has completely changed. She was a satire of a cheating ex girlfriend so she was treated as a joke character and made her son the worst possible kid as a cherry on top. But as the time went on, they started to take her more seriously as a character and developed her in Ceaser's episode. We first saw why she was the way she was and finally we begin to see her develop much better like in the vaccination episode. In the latest seasons, she finally realised her mistake with Cartman and finally changed her ways. I think this also shows that writers also want to give credit to Liane and say "she is not the worst mother (that's Linda)". I just think that Liane, as a single mother and flawed woman does her best, made absolutely horrible mistakes but has gotten her redemption especially with the streaming special episode. I think she is now not one of the worst mothers but in the grey area.

Despite Carol being rude, she's a pretty decent mother. She cares for her children. There was a moment when she slapped her own son in front of his brother. She's pretty dumb and sometimes will scold her husband at anytime.
She seems to care about her children somewhat. Like in the episode "Quintuplets 2000" where she supported Kenny' dream to be an opera singer.
