  • It fits my needs. For ~$100 it's a solid unit that organizes my sources into one location for feeding into my DAW.

this seems so simple but I am having a helluva time trying to sort out what to do with routing in my studio... so thanks so much for putting this video together... it helps!

You're welcome...this is still my status quo a year later, so it's worked out well.

This patch bay is really good for converters that have all their inputs in back. This thing lets you have all your inputs on the front and it works great for patching in preamps. As you point out, the main advantage here is having something that is always balanced, without question, and no worries about phantom power.

How does the sound quality of pcb compare to like a mogami cable ? imperceivable I imagine .

my opinion would be that the wire itself, or circuit board is immaterial. Shielding can matter, depending on situation, but anytime I've had a problem, it was solvable...like not running your signal wire over a power supply helps. I think you get far more noise problems with mics that have high noise floors, or bad pre-amps.

You cables are the arteries, your gear the organs always use the best you can get, same with connectors, space your gear to manufacturer specs for cooling,
Eliminate dust constantly and provide lots of clean power with amps and amps to spare
      Throw away Kmart power strips
