that is true, presented always means that in this case ghibli is probably a backer of the project and its willing to throw their name out there in grace of tsaid project, definitely not a in house project as you described, people tend to always confuse directed or created with presented.
For all of you saying that this trailer spoils the movie, you're wrong. There is so much more to this movie than what the trailer shows and its a compelling, beautiful story told so masterfully. Its really a fantastic movie
I saw it at the Sydney Film Festival and thought it was one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen. Each frame is like a beautiful, Japanese woodblock print. The graduated colour shading is magnificent and the way that the water is animated is spectacular.
IKR? Halfway through the entire trailer I was kind of cringing until I noticed that there has been MANY cases in fictional stories and movies that I've watched in my childhood where humans are found in a somewhat romantic relationship with wolves, cats, fish and even rodents so... why not a turtle? LOL. As long as the animal gets a somewhat human body (Neko Girl, Anthro or Full human form) before repopulating or doing any sexual acts with the main character I'll be fine with it. I'm just glad it isn't a volleyball or coconut again.
Birdman it told a complete story. Beginning - Guy is stranded alone on an island, tries to escape but it doesn't work. Middle - Turtle girl appears, they fall in love. They go through the various hardships that happen. End - They have kids and make a family.
I watched this movie in a small theater for indie films and other smaller films with my childhood best friend and his family back in 2017 and I’ve always really loved how unique and peaceful this movie is. I still bring this movie up with him sometimes when we are chatting over the phone talking or while playing video games, or in person. Over the last few years ever since I became a young adult, the deeper meaning of the movie is something I’ve grown to like even more.
I love the people saying that because they saw the trailer they saw the whole movie and I'm here like ''Child, you have seen nothing. Just fucking watch it and shut up.''
Since there's lot of people commented it's bestiality etc.. my intake for this movie I think this movie is a bout human nature/ cycle of life. You were born, finding purposes which is the red turtle In This case and then you make your own family and then watch your children grow up and leave. And the turtle here for me is a representation of many things in Once, a partner, a purpose and life. Which is why the turtle left the man lifeless body In The end which for me means people, purposes/legacy, life moves on with or without you... When you pass away life will goes on so does for everyone and thts okay. Memories and moments will be remembered forever by people who loved you. This is my intake for the movie.
Everyone's in the comments saying "They showed the whole story" and I'm like...it's supposed to be a simple story anyway and I look forward to watching it still?
I will probably go see it though, I think this is one of those movies that needs to be experienced regardless of the plot! also want to know what happens to the guy at the end of the movie!
I’ve known Ghibli for Years. But I have never heard of this movie until today (pretty crazy). And to know that this is their ONLY non Japanese movie, is again: Crazy! I should definitely check this out
While watching the trailer, the whole time i was thinking: "This looks really european (kind of like TinTin), then the credits came up, it makes sense. The trailer shows too much.
My local Theater just finished it's remodeling and Reopened today... This was one of the movies it had showtimes for... I was going to watch "Life"; but this completely changed my mind!!!
This movie was a MASTERPIECE! Studio Ghibli never fails .
It was mostly a French production you know...But yes the movie was incredible!
I think Ghibli only "presents" it and partially produced it as opposed to being one of their in-house projects.
that is true, presented always means that in this case ghibli is probably a backer of the project and its willing to throw their name out there in grace of tsaid project, definitely not a in house project as you described, people tend to always confuse directed or created with presented.
ɷɷ I Haveee Watchedd Thissss Moviee Leakedd Versionnn Hereeee : - t.co/e6QlTccFx6
It's a coproduction from France, Belgium and Japan.

The artstyle reminds me of Tin Tin.
For all of you saying that this trailer spoils the movie, you're wrong. There is so much more to this movie than what the trailer shows and its a compelling, beautiful story told so masterfully. Its really a fantastic movie
My tears fell in the end... 😭😭😭 What a masterpiece Studio Ghibli. You left me crying...

It kinda reminds me of polynesian story of the woman and the eel.
Hands down, best animation I've seen by far.
I loved watching the movie in 2m:29s.
well it didn't tell that much
Birdman it told a complete story. Beginning - Guy is stranded alone on an island, tries to escape but it doesn't work.

nah
Recktat19 as a person who has already seen the movie I can tell you... You ain't wrong but you ain't right
The Tropical Weirdo Yeah, they can't not have something new in the movie. But they showed too much is what I'm trying to say.
This movie was so unexpectedly moving, and it is CRIMINALLY underrated. I cried multiple times, it was so unbelievably moving.

this anime movie was very sad and heart breaking ;( the trailer did not ruin this movie. The ending is not like what it seem from this trailer.
The wonderful thing about art is that it's up for our own personal interpretations.
Yay , I watched the whole movie in the trailer . Thank you very much
Interesting how almost all the shots are wide shots. As if the audience is observing from a distance.
This was a masterpiece! The ending made me cry so much 😭. The background music was so deep..It felt like heaven.
Can't wait for their next film, the blue tortoise.
Kyubey yes

BEAUTIFULLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Red Turtle is the most purely cinematic picture I have ever seen.
This is now my 2nd favorite film produced by ghibli.
Go for the Oscar my red friend!!
Verónica well, unforteunately with Disney's influence red turtle had no chance. Plus it's not about racism, homophobia or autism, so...
Idk why i am but im so surprised and excited Ghibli still make Movies

これ聞きながらだと、日常のちょっとした事でもジブリの世界に入り込んでストーリーの一コマになっているような気分になれる💭

Interesting form of animation for a movie.
Studio Ghibli movies are always decently made.
