Watch a full tutorial as a 2016 Chevrolet Malibu will have a brand new Pioneer touch screen double din radio installed. We will be using the Pioneer AVH-2300NEX which features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. We also will be retaining the factory amplifier (non Bose), backup camera, and steering wheel control buttons.
This video applies to Chevy / Chevrolet Malibu models for years 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022. This video also includes radio removal, wiring, installation, and testing.
***NOTE--For other models with Bose or other trim levels, we suggest pulling the radio to analyze what type of harnesses are connected to the radio. GM has a variation of harnesses depending on the trim level, from gray and yellow (like ours), to gray and green, to a large black harness, it may vary. we will link the variations in the parts section below. We strongly suggest you go to www.metraonline... and use the vehicle fit guide to confirm the harness needed for your trim level.

What wiring would i need because nobody locally willing to devulge info. Some talking about an IQR code Im lost.

I have the same exact car and 7" infotainment and there's no way I'm doing this. That thing sticks out a good 4 inches. Looks horrible

Will the LAN 10 harness work with a pioneer-AVH-120bt ??? Im guessing not because I do not have any where to plug in the 16 pin harness from the GMOS lan-10

What’s the main reason for the swap? Does it provide a better output for the speakers for sound quality?
Significant upgrade over factory. Power, audio quality, EQ, output, features, etc. Huge difference.
It's a overall better experience of a upgrade upgrading any head unit is better than Factory. My requirement for all my head units is to be 10 band or 16 band equalizer that's just something personal for me. remember the head unit is the brains the amplifier is the heart the better the quality the better the music the more power that's why I tell people always put your money into your head unit stereo and your amplifier because those are what create and make the sound. you choose cheap you get cheap and always use certified brands s.e.a certified brands not boss or PB (power bass ) stuff like that is crap. The numbers on the box say one thing but the actual test results say another
I'd give anything to see what plugged in to where on the back of the unit. The GMOS LAN10 and ASWC-1 don't plug in to the unit do they? Just the harness, antenna, and USB?
Where is the factory amp located?
Now in China you may find the device which is more fit to that Malibu, with no need to make saw work.
Only thing is, the China radio bezels only fit the Chinese head units
Will this kit work with other after market head units cause I'm thinking of going with a float screen on my 2017 malibu lt
This kit works with any standard size chassis radio, yes.

Depends on the trim level, but we sure did.
Can you use a older model Pioneer double din head unit?
Any standard double din will work fine.

Well the dash kit we used fits a standard double din chassis, regardless of screen size. Anything generally over 7” would have to be a float mount screen

It is not recommended at this time to replace the radio on a 2021 CT4 or CT5 as there is no aftermarket support for it.

You'd have to call around. Shops generally also require you to buy parts from them as well.

No, as the 2015 Malibu as a completely different dash design

Yes he did. He explained what wire on the harness he used in other to keep the backup camera

why when you could have android auto and apple carplay? (assuming you have the radio that doesn't come with those from the factory which this car didn't.) i actually have the factory radio with android auto and carplay but if i wanted them to be wireless i could put a kenwood dmx809s in there (or some other cheap chinese head unit.)
@S B mine came with a 7 inch display? stock radio has android auto and car play so I'm confused by your message the 2016-2023 comes standard with it.
