But to have a normal fucking dude, content creator thats NOT being a constantly woke, virtue signalling male feminist, is sadly SUCH an incredibly rare and amazing breath of fresh air in todays climate. Today, where every guy on youtube or in media is pretending they don't lust after women and only have the HIGHEST of respect for everything with a puzzy 😅. It's genuinely, and very unfortunately, a very nice change, to see a guy just BEING A GUY. Seven is my favorite to be honest. Just having someone be able to go toe to toe with Jason in a somewhat believable way.
Jason is so physically imposing and strong it's almost needed for him to have a supernatural opponent.
Part 7 is also my favorite. Tina was awesome!

Part 7’s house explosion is legitimately INCREDIBLE. Its so good it seems like it’s from an effects studio that specialises in it.
Great video, sir! And can I say, in all seriousness….it’s a breath of fresh air hearing someone say ‘oh, she was really pretty’ or whatever it is. People aren’t allowed to objectify people anymore, which is correct, solely objectifying someone….bad. however, iis saying an actress is pretty objectifying ?. I don’t see anyone as an object, and saying that someone is pretty isn’t an objectification, it’s a compliment, especially in film. People like pretty, boy or girl, man or woman. It’s the whole reason studios usually want pretty women and handsome guys in their movies. I like that you point out stuff like that.

The vibe that these films need to be watched early in the morning, along with the comfort factor is sooooo on point!
Much like how Freddy says “Every city has an Elm Street”, which makes it reachable and relatable no matter where you are, so to is there both a Halloween every year and Friday the 13th(s) sprinkled sporadically throughout every year. It keeps our main 3 horror stars forefront in our minds. Love this retrospective! May it live on forever much like the horror genre itself. Yearly epic rewatch. 🤘😎😈👻🎃

I truly think a Friday the 13th movie could be so successful right now. With how they portrayed Michael Myers as an unstoppable unkillable force of nature in the 2018 movie, an over the top hulking mass of pure murderous intent that is Jason would be so fun to watch. I think the real thing holding it back is that there is no Jamie lee Curtis character you could bring back

Yeah this pisses me off. Like why does a movie that should be standalone get a reboot but a series that works really well as a series not get anything?
I want more of these videos. I like how informative they are but it also just feels like a conversation with a buddy. Hanging out with snacks and a drink for several hours and talking horror. Great stuff, man. I look forward to the future for you.

I thought Jason drowned to death, never thought he survived drowning ? Just thought he was awakened from death by his mom's death, and then physically rapidly matured to seek his revenge.

My theory is a current washed him on the beach right as he was about to drown
My theory is that he actually DID drown, and that Jason is actually a deadite, and that Pamela is the reasoning behind that. It's why the Necromomicon was in the old Voorhees house in Jason Goes to Hell

I totally get what you mean. When I was a kid, I would ride my bike to a local video store in my hometown during the summer, rent one of the Friday movies, and then ride my bike home and try and sneak the tape into the house without my mom catching me. I saw all of the (at that point) nine movies that way, though not necessarily in order.
Also, all the tits in these movies were the best thing in the world for a 12-year old in the pre-internet days.
here is a good explaination of Jason from 6 onward. Revenants are obsessed, undead stalkers who arise from their own murders and are driven by only one thing: revenge against their killers. The common wisdom is that revenants arise only from individuals who have been utterly betrayed or abandoned to die a grueling death, but even then such victims might not rise from their graves. In other cases, revenants might even rise from what might legitimately be considered an accident if the revenant doesn't understand the full circumstances of their demise. In such cases, it doesn't matter that the “murderer” may not have intended to kill, for revenants understands no pity and can never forgive.

THanks for briefly reminiscing on video rentals ... commentaries on these '80s horror series rarely cover just how vital they were to mom-and-pop video rental stores in the '80s. These franchises were HUGE, reliable revene generators for *every* video store. I remember seeing these movies and posters for them year after year, for a couple decades. Going to see the latest Nightmare, F13, Halloween, and later, Scream, was a foundation of the pop culture of the time.
I've had this idea recently for a Friday prequel film about the summer when Jason first drowned, and his mom's slow descent into madness as a result. It would end with Mrs. Voorhees dying, and then have it as a twist ending stinger that Jason was actually alive the whole time, and saw his mom get killed from the shadows, kinda like the prologue of the remake.

My favorite horror franchise. Part IV: The Final Chapter is my favorite film in the franchise, and while there are some weaker installments as the franchise goes on, there are enough entertaining things to happen in the films that I’m able to enjoy them all. Seeing the reboot in the theater in 2009 was amazing and then seeing the original on the big screen for its 40th anniversary 3 years ago was great too. I love these films and I hope to see more of them in the future. Thanks for the amazing retrospective Ryan, take care!

Seriously love these long-form horror retrospectives. Got into this channel through the Child's Play video, then basically watched the Evil Dead, Nightmare on Elm Street, and this back to back. I hope more videos like this come into the future. They are excellent.
