Joan Embery is one of my most favorite humans. She is still amazingly beautiful.
wow that made tears run down my face, I had just watched several episodes of her on Johnny Carson cause I remembered her in my teens. She's a lovely and caring woman. God bless you Joan wishing you a speedy recovery. My prayers are with you.

Joan was a part of my childhood as I got to watch Johnny Carson sometimes and she'd come on with animals and share them. Strokes really rock your world. My Mom had one while I was feeding her one morning. The acronym stands for Facial drooping, Arm weakness, Speech difficulties and Time to call 911 ASAP! Doing that saved my Mom and she lived another month and a half. Glad to see Joan doing better in this. Hope and pray she's with us a long time. God bless.
Joan, I have always been in awe of you, and am still in awe of you. Amazing, beautiful, and passionate in what you do. Absolute best Carson shows are the episodes you are in and I just watched you in a rerun before looking you up on the internet. I am estastic you are recovering from the stroke. Your inner strength and fortitude will definitely see you thru recovery.. Had never knew of Duane before this video helping serve as the rock and wind beneath your wings. Am also in awe of the sincerity and love you express toward each other in this video, you both are true loves. For me you are the mother earth spirit of all wildlife. Fortunate to have met Joan and Dwayne about ten years ago at her reserve in Lakeside - both were wonderfully welcoming people - both down to earth with no airs or graces. Dwayne I gather passed about a year ago - God bless both of them.
You've always been an amazing human being, Joan, so it doesn't surprise me that you came through such a difficult time with flying colors. You and Duane make a beautiful couple. You are very blessed to have each other. Thank you for all those years on the Tonight Show with Johnny. Those were some of my all-time favorite episodes. God bless you and give you many more happy healthy years with your sweet husband, as well as all the animals you love so much. I, too, am a huge animal lover.

I was shocked when I saw the commercial for Sharp on TV featuring Joan. Having worked at the Zoo many years ago when she was there and being a horse person myself, it was hard to watch. I am glad she recovered! My Sis works for Sharp Hospital and my Husband was there in ICU for a Rattlesnake bite for 10 days, 17 days total stay. They are a great outfit. Godspeed to you Joan-so glad you are ok!

Personally, I always looked forward to seeing what animals you brought and to hear you speak so well on their individual personalities and sometimes of their dwindling habitats. You are a Godsend to the world of wild animals, the way you educate everybody about them, making us all care about them...almost as much as you do.

I grew up watching her on Johnny Carson and she's always delightful. Thank goodness for the healthcare providers that correctly identified and diagnosed her stroke and provided such great care. It's unfortunate that Joan's initial concerns (at the other healthcare facility) seemed to have been largely minimized.
Much of the healthcare system in the U.S. is in shambles, regrettably. I've always believed emergency medicine was the best, but even that is now suffering. I don't blame the doctors and nurses, though...I fault the system within which they work.
Sadly, hospitals have fallen victim to the same greed and short sightedness to which all other corporations are vulnerable. Healthcare is a business and when the focus is on profits, it's taken off the patient and the healthcare providers. It's very sad. Not all doctors or hospitals are the same. Where you get care is a matter of life or death.

I remember Joan embery from the Johnny Carson show cuz she would bring the most terrific animals on the show I remember Johnny Embry from the Johnny Carson show and she would bring the most terrific animals on the show I loved when you student when John Henry would come on the show she was such a beautiful person I wish I had the chance to meet her cuz she was such a nice lady like I said she was a beautiful person anyway I will I want to wish her well and hopefully she'll take care of us take care of yourself cuz I still watch you when I can I know you haven't been on TV that much anymore fat I still love you

I looked up Joan Embery and ended up here right after viewing her on Carson with twin orangutans.
