People dont realize that Jordan spawned a whole breed of new players including Kobe, D wade, Tmac, Vince Carter, James Harden, Kevin Durant, Carmelo Anthony and Lebron James. They all grew up watching Mike and at the time MJ was playing, there was noone else in the league who was considered to be as good as he was. MJ was the best in the game during his career and everyone knew it. He was also idolized by many more even Allen Iverson. Its bc of Jordan the NBA is so popular and he set the bar so high that even with all those great players i mentioned above, none of them have even come close to surpassing Mj and all of them fell short of the throne of the goat

Context is what's ALWAYS missing from these MJ vs (fill in the blank) videos, when younger fans try to comment on them.
They just tend to look at things at face value.
But the REALITY of the matter is that at that time, this was CHI 3rd game in as many nights.
And being the OLDEST TEAM in the league at that time, they were a bit fatigued. Because by the 3rd quarter they were gassed and it showed.
Whereas the lakers were one of the YOUNGER TEAMS in the league, and had a day off before this game. So they were CLEARLY RESTED, not to mention jacked up SKY HIGH about playing MJ and the defending champion Bulls.
They caught the CHI at the right time.

Back in the days shooting hoops with my road dogs 24/7 rain or sunshine always at park throwing it down . We used to all gather up and watch the LAKERS games. I'll never forget this matchup especially when Kobe started heating up , Jordan guarding Bryant told Pippen to make a switch and guard young Kobe, right away on the first play Kobe makes a three on Pippen's face killing him, Jordan all mad tells Pippen never mind I'll guard him.
Lakers end up winning the game. Everyone knew including Jordan that Kobe's talent would make him one of the all time best players in the NBA............
😞 I still can't believe the tragic day when Kobe passed away 🥺
One of the best , a legendary unforgettable basketball player to ever play the game. Still miss him.
    R.I.P. 8 KOBE BRYANT 24

After the first half at 5:34 when they show points for Michael and Kobe. MJ had 24, Kobe had 8. 24 and 8. Kind of poetic...
