    First time i watched this a few days ago, I was mad because I was trying to build a proper plan on how to improve as a soccer person and there was so much new info he was tlaiking abt that was just overwhelming and i couldn't grasp all these new concepts like isometric or reflexive training, or how to find the right exercises or build a good weekly schedule around them (there is literally 0 info about reflexive training in the internet), but after going back again and thoroughly reviewing point by point and taking notes, I was able to form a good idea of the main things to work on in the gym, which are max strength with power/explosiveness (including big compound lifts prioritised), reflective training + plyometric training, isolation exercises (working specific parts and movements as in soccer, as well as specific parts), sprint (and technique drills), explosiveness drills, agility, injury prehab and mobility, as well as fascia and some ither ball stuff, I know what I am doing and have figured out what he meant by all this.

    Awesome pointers here. I play no sports but have gotten into doing hill sprints (which are made easier since the street I live on is literally on a big hill 😊) to. But I got into sprinting (going on week 2 now, twice a week) to add another variation to my overall training. And your videos, tips, and suggestions have been invaluable. Much appreciated!     This video was incredible! How many years of experience did it take to gain so much knowledge. You need to create a train the trainer course! Too many coaches out here teaching foolishness. I rather train my own son. 😂

    Love your info I would love to see more speed training techniques and ideas. I have an 11 and 12 year old who I personally train..I apply alot of the stuff you speak about. I've seen almost all your videos on body weight and speed. Once a week we do explosive plyometrics single leg stairs , tuck jumps, I apply a couple of exercises from Adam Archuleta trainer Schroeder.
    We do hill sprints 3*week and in the last 4 months he has been gradually improving his speed. He is a monster playing soccer ⚽ kids can't keep up.lol I thank you very much for your content. If you can do a video on the evo sports program it would be interesting.

      that’s a lot of hill sprinting every week. The contact time in hill sprinting is a bit slow for max speed training. Not too many track athletes would train hills more than once per week. Core of speed training is 6 x 40m sprints.

    I can't just do hex bar deadlifts (AKA the Money Lift) and increase my relative Force Number and get faster? :(
    If you're up for it, compare your sprint training methods and Ryan Flaherty's.

    Hey Dane, I'm sorry I'm late to the party. I do have a question though. Does consistent post-activation potentiation training reap long-term benefits, or is the increased power output you experience using this method strictly short-lived?

    sled push/drag, start laying down facing opposite direction, turn sprint 20yrd. standing vertical leap. 40yrd dashes. arm swing carries momentum first 3 steps.

    I do Nordic hamstring curls every Sunday, my day 1, my leg day and strength day (yes I've been binge watching your videos today) and I do them with weight plates, bumper plates, now trying them with clubbells and yeah 30° flexion (with a club weighing less than a plate I can keep against my chest all the way to the floor and back up) is hella hard. Even with stacked padding to about about a 45° landing

      19:18 oddly enough I'll do 2-3 sets of 25-30 of those as a warm up towards Nordic curls. Sometimes I may do clubbell push over good mornings sets of 8, slow down/explosive up after sliding curls and before Nordic curls. Then I'll squat 2&single legged

    I've done that 1 leg hurdle jump b4 but my gym gets crowded so I do 1 leg over 1 hurdle then jump right onto a 24 inch soft box.
    I dont do the rock from a kneel tho. I start from a stand

    I was a high school sprint coach for a number of years. 100-400; hurdles from 100-300 hurdles. Every coach trains different. Years ago I bought some Olympic software and every thing else is history.

    Good stuff. However I have to say that Louie's not the only 1 promoting sumo deadlifts for sprinting, there's been many coaches who have used this lift with great success for their sprinters. Just curious why you wont use it? Is it because you already have all those other lifts in your arsenal(squats, cleans, split squats etc?) I don't believe that you can deny it's great value for strengthening the hips, glutes and hammies.

      @@GarageStrength no problem. I can’t figure out what it is that I need to train. My friend moves so smooth. And his cns is ready to go. Like his reaction time is nuts. It doesn’t make sense how fast he can process things.

      @@jdgatlin8813 Im pretty sure coordination/reaction time comes from just practicing coordination. Make sure that you are strong enough, and then just work on repeating movements properly to get them into muscle memory.

    Am I wrong or is speed training often pretty simular to vertical jump training? It kind of goes hand or hand right?

      I think vertical jump is more focused on the quads while horizontal jumps and springs are more focused on the hamstrings
