Dark Paladin is pure badassery! The moment Yugi summons it and beats Kaiba with it, top tier anime moment.
Dark Paladin has to be one of, if not the card, with the strongest original and alt art design. You can't really go wrong with either, but if I had to choose it would have to be the portrait, gothic style artwork. Still in search of the mint corrected art for my binder!

The error art is arguably one of the nicest arts in the game. The rare and nuanced aspect of MFC is quite interesting, definitely a set to watch in the future

Dark Paladin 1st Ed Error is my all time favourite card in the TCG. Just sold my PSA 9 1st Corrected, which I must admit was hard to part with.

I picked up a PSA 9 error Dark Paladin 1st Ed and it is by far my favorite card. That one might just get passed down to my kid 😢
Man...I remember an advent calendar with the Cyber End dragon on the calendar cover. There was the Dark Paladin DR1 was included. I love this card so much.
I remember when I was with my friend when he pulled Dark Paladin and we had no idea it was an error card. We were just excited to see the card in person. It's crazy to see that the history behind that card goes that deep.

Forever my 2nd favorite card only to blue eyes. I had a 1st edition error art as a kid and lost it 😢 didn’t even know what I had when I was 10. Forever sad about losing it. I want a psa 10 and well as a corrected art. My dream cards next to dds blue eyes
I remember on Reddit around 2007ish a guy that worked at Konami ended up with about 250 of the corrected art cards and was selling them for like $25. I’ll see if I can dig deep and link it

1st edition Correct Artwork Dark Paladin. Damn. Missed out on that one! :PI remember my buddy had the correct art work dark paladin (I think he traded it too me as well) but I DON'T remember if it was 1st edition....could of been but I Don't remember :P !
Luckily I got a playset of these! The corrected art is so much better than the error one.

the fact there isn't a cheaply available holo version of the dmg/1st edition dark paladin is such a shame, part of me wants to hold out for one instead of spending 30 bucks on the dmg-001 version but i know that might not happen for years if ever so i might just end up going for it

Great video! Dark paladin is my favorite card ever. I have every variant of it including DMG except the wrong version of MFC.
From what I remember then I think I sent the error to Upper Deck. It took awhile to received the corrected art. When I got the corrected card it was severely OC. It's like they sorted out the good centering cards for special people. I don't remember how I learned about it. Back then I always read card magazines.

In the old Beckett magazine it talks about returning dark paladin to Konami for the corrected artwork. Also I think there was also a similar situation with the boss water cover card in the old structure deck with corrected text.

I run a Dark Magician deck with 3 Dark Paladins in it. It's viable because of King of the Swamp, Polymerization, Future Fusion, Magicalized Fusion, along with BLS Envoy of the Beginning and CED Envoy of the End. This deck is all about throwing everything from the hand and deck into the graveyard just to summon as many Fusion monsters as possible for the quick beatdown. If I can get Future Fusion before drawing a single dragon, I summon 5HD with it and try to summon Dark Paladin as soon as I can. If I do pull a dragon, since they're almost all light monsters, they become fodder for summoning my Chaos monsters, and I just use the Future Fusion/Magicalized Fusion wombo-combo to double up on two Quintet Magicians.

Kazuki Takahashi, Yu-Gi-Oh! Creator, Died at 60 years of age last year in 2022.
I think I had the error one as a kid but Im not quite sure. Either way, my favorite of all time and I will need to add to my collection eventually.

There were two large PSA submissions of this card in history. The PSA pop report is very misleading to investors and collectors. If you reverse engineer numbers at the time before the PSA "corrected art" designator, it is VERY reasonable that the corrected artwork is within a dozen copies of the original artwork as these submissions happened before the designator. There are a lot of evidence that backs this up. At a minimum the current 26 PSA 10 corrected art copies is doubled to around 50-60 copies. And the rest would be original art at around 70. The thing is, there is almost a 0% chance that a double digit amount of original artwork copies get submitted to PSA but there is a much higher chance that a dozen or more copies of the corrected artwork get sent to PSA in a single submission. There are 4 non designated corrected PSA graded cards on Ebay right now LOL. BTW so everyone is aware, the people with massive quantities of the corrected artwork paladins are hoarding them and are not released into the market. So if it seems like there are more original artworks in the market it is because there are! That is different than the legit pop reports of the cards. Good video, cheers!
You need some neon lights behind your sculptures, would really make them stand out and make your backgrounder cooler as well too. Also what will you put in the empty side to the left of you?
What made you make this video? I have been looking into purchasing a dmg dark paladin myself, and im just surprised you did this. It’s so tough and expensive. I’ve found some cheap ones tho still sealed.
haha it's so funny because you and I have the EXACT same taste when it comes to collecting. I used to collect yugioh until I started playing and then you realize all your "favorite" cards aren't that good lol at least in the TCG and you have to play obscure decks to win right. But I remember Magician of Black Chaos and Dark Paladin being my top 2 cards along with CED and BLS. :P !THAT's old school Yu-Gi-Oh! for you though ;) !

I don't play nor care for modern yugioh, but I build and play with pre GX anime decks. my best friend noticed I did not have a dark paladin in my yugi deck, so he gave me one that he had found on the playground as a kid. it was the first ed error, but due to condition neither of us though it was worth anything, just some crusty heavy play junk card.
last year I went to play yugioh with some different friends at a different locals. some guy was bragging about his ultiy brain control and that he's the only one around here who owns one, I said that I have one that's in better condition and that I got for much cheaper, he assumed I was lying (to be fair so would I if someone said that to me). but sure enough i pulled out my anime yugi deck and showed it off, one of his mates who i was trading cards with asked to look at the deck and he stopped when he got to the extra deck. his eyes widened, and he asked if i would trade the paladin, i said its beaten up probably not worth anything and was given to me by a friend so sadly not. he offered me £450 worth of trades from his binder, witch caught me off guard, so he told me about the error and how they are worth money. so i looked it up and he was right at the time they were worth about £450 in NM condition.
now this card I have never summoned, its in bad condition and honestly I don't even like dark paladin in the slightest. but this card was given to me by my friend, I cant just trade it away, so I turned the guy down saying even though I don't like the card it means more to me than the cash. that night I told my friend about what happened and offered to give him the card back since neither of us knew its value but said its mine now.
Just like grandpa muto's blue eyes is the connection between him and arthur hawkins, this dark paladin is the connection between me and my friend.
