    If you setup the valve spring compressor correctly, it will lock down with the spring compressed. Put your keepers in and release the spring.should work great. Good stuff!

    I have that valve spring tool from Proform, love it, looks just like that one. I use small rope in the cylinder then turn motor over to put rope against valves (on the compression stroke), tried the air thing one time, valve cracked open, let the air pressure out, air pressure pushed piston down some how, and valve fell in motor ugh.

    • @CarportGarageDragRacing
      @CarportGarageDragRacing Před rokem

      plus the rope helps with holding the valve up for putting retainers/locks etc... back on

      That's why I don't use a compressor ... but if I say that everyone will jump down my throat

    This spring kit would work with factory valve guides because in the note section on summit say requires machining do you machined or leave them stock

      yes it would be cool but we are on a tight budget for this engine.. The motor is still on the stand if you wanted to send over a LS valve spring , retainers and keepers I can pull off one to the springs to show them side by side.. email: maldo72motorsports@yahoo.com

    I like to put one whine of 3M plus electrical tape on the valve groove to keep from cutting the seal on the valve retainer grove.

    Have you sourced LS7 lifters yet? I've been following the build but hadn't seen the lifter piece. I've installed rockers, studs and the guide plates you had rec'd. Dealing with a stock collapsed lifter and would like to do this once. Thanks.

      believe it of not this motor has ls7 lifters that i bought when i did the other engine over but, really have not noticed anything different then the factory stock lifters.

      @@maldo72 Thanks for the reply. One of my stock ones had collapsed. After digging into it, collapsed lifter might not be the only problem.

    • @maldo72

    Are the cylinder head intake and exhaust valves the original ones from the LT1 or did you install larger valves? Will the 2.02 intake and 1.60 exhaust valves from the GEN 1 head fit this LT1 head? If you have the part number of the correct larger valves for these heads, you can share. I would be grateful. 🤜⚔️🤛🇧🇷🇧🇷🏁🏁🎱🏴‍☠️👻

    Good afternoon, I purchased the spring kit in your video, great stuff as I can tell I haven installed then yet , but I have a question can you run a double roller timing gear and chain on an LT1 using the original timing cover and optispark , also how hard is it to drop the oil pan enough just to install the timing cover. Thank you , love the video content! Keep it up!

    • @maldo72
      @maldo72  Před rokem +1

      you can use a double roller timing chain but you would have to clearance the timing cover and you will not be able to run the factory gear driven water pump ....

      The rev limit on the stock LT1 is not 5200 rpm . That’s just where it makes peak horsepower.

    Lol, Tick is garbage. Went to order a set of these from them a few weeks ago since their website said "In Stock and Ready To Ship". Waited 2 weeks for them to ship and nothing, finally called them and asked what the delay was. Apparently they didnt have some component of the set and was refused to give a ship date. Never doing business there again.
