You didn't need to cut the plastic I'm sure the struts were installed upside down

Think you right there mate the struts should of been the other way round .Always have been with the ones i have fitted .shouldn't have to cut anything ..

@@aaronferbrache8140 As I mentioned above, it was done, as per the instructions (with images) of the reseller. I was thinking about turning it, but it would close the same way at the end (more-or-less).
