It's not a exception cannizzaro reaction happens because there is no group to leave but the oh- concentration is also high that it starts forcing the compound to leave a hydrogen as hydride and this hydride is unstable so hydride transfer is transition, now in this case ccl3 can leave so there's no problem. So cannizzaro reaction won't occur. so dont think this is exception it's just that its a different reaction

To understand his blunder you have to understand haloalkanes , alcohols, phenols,ether ,and aldehyde ketones very first time I didn't understand but when I learned this chapter form one and only pankaj sir then I rewatched this video and then I understood .

@@rohankale3991 no bro , but im on the way and the truth is not even pankaj sir can tell you that how much is sufficient for advance , recently in 2022 my friend cleared advance with score 96 and he is in IIT BHU. And he just studied from alakh sir's old videos and did self practice a lot which gave him his destiny i was so shocked that how can a person without coaching can get in to iit in first attempt so surfacingly the point is nothing is sufficient you neet to practice till the moment you give the exam . even I my self saw an improvement 😅 after seeing him btw im in 1st drop , i hope i was able to clear things .

Actually Ccl3 is a good leaving group. It has tendency toh leave more than hydronium ion...that's why this happens🙃

I think the reason why it was haloform was the -ccl3 was a better leaving group than hydride H-. hence it went for haloform over cannizaro since cannizro has hydride transfer as RDS.
