@@tstermon I have watched the movie multiple times. The reason he talks like that is because he has been given pointers about Jules. Like he would have been for any boss. And he takes it seriously and follows that advice to maje a good impression on his boss. As in takes her seriously. Which is what I love. I had to spell this out because much like you people(mostly men) have been treating me like I know nothing my whole life and in real life men don't take women in superior positions who have achieved more than them or displayed more calibre at something seriously and listen. More so if they're white/uppercaste Hindu and old. Which is also why this movie was cathartic to me. Jules was pushing herself so hard n even blamed herself for her cheating husband's behaviour and was ready to sacrifice everything she's built n deserves n surrender control to another man even in her career. Its a good thing she didn't. You have no idea how cathartic all the little n big things in this movie are for women like me.
It also destroys the idea that chivlary n basic human rights n respect for marginalised genders cannot go hand in hand. A lot of men irl use that as excuse to justify their misogyny. N before anyone say the #NotAllMen, ENOUGH OF THEM. Ben's existence is therapeutic. That's what gives him a leg up over Al Pacino for me, as great as Pacino is. Range matters. Both De Niro and Pacino dominate drama, but only De Niro actually has comedy hits.
There is a scene in this movie he tells about his old job and the place he worked over decade's while sitting exactly there. It is heart touching scene
Where did movies like this go ,this is an absolute gem. I wish there where more movies that just tell a good story no jokes that realy dont land. No "sexy /provocative" scenes. Just a great heart warming story
It had a provocative scene though. When de niro's character was being massaged by that woman. But yeah I get what you're talking about, it has an adult scene, but the movie isn't really about that, it was just a scene, plus the relationship went on to become more.
Didn’t expect a lot from this movie, tbh I thought it’d be those cringey movies famous actors do for the money, but this was such a feel good movie. The storyline was cute, the movie is wonderful, their chemistry is delightful, and watching this short made me want to watch it again.
My brother took me to this movie in theater after a divorce due to similar circumstances in the movie. Didn't know I would go into this movie and cry but it definitely hits different.
The casting team did a great job...a rare unusual realistic n more believe story like to come out in recent times... Light hearted comedy n clash of the best actors Loved it ❤️

So many jobs keep asking for "10 years of experience" that people straight out of college are gonna be stuck in internships for years without ever getting a proper paying career
I absolutely love this movie. It is funny without going full slapstick or unrealistic as so many comedies do today. And it leaves enough room to have some serious and heartfelt moments too. To me this is a dignified comedy.
I love that he talked to her like he probably used to talk to his bosses when he was young.
