  • This conversation featuring Syed Ahmad and Wahaj us Siraj - the CEO of Nayatel - addresses the recent hike of unjust payroll taxes in budget 2024-25 by the Government of Pakistan, which now reach up to 35%. As the salaried class already bears a heavy tax burden, these new taxes have sparked significant concerns.
    The conversation explores:
    - The profound impact of these taxes on the economy.
    - The taxes serving as catalysts to an already increased brain drain.
    - How companies might resort to categorizing full-time employees as freelancers to bypass these taxes.
    - The repercussions on academia and the broader educational sector.
    - How the government's unreasonable policy seems to facilitate non-compliant businesses while haunting compliant ones.
    - The increasing trend of tax evasion in the IT sector.
    - Why regulating IT businesses will be a bad idea?
    - Viable options for the salaried class amidst these tax changes.
    - Whether IT companies should stay compliant and what's in it for them.
Wahaj us Siraj and Syed also provide insightful advice for policymakers, urging them to consider the long-term consequences of their tax decisions and proposing more sustainable solutions.

Very good suggestions. But it's not like the government is not performing well because of lack of ideas. They have chosen to do so to maintain the status quo. And perhaps they want the educated class to leave Pakistan so that they can loot and corrupt freely without any opposition from those who can think freely and have the capability to express themselves.

Thank you for discussing the issues faced by salaried class. I hope things get better, but I don't see any improvement.

Very important discussion. Pakistan is not moving forward because our small & medium size businesses are shrinking and single to 5 people team freelancers are growing.

Salaried class should publish appeal ads in newspapers like other lobbies.
Government mist reduce taxes otherwise salaried class will immigrate.

I randomly opened this video and thought I had seen the host somewhere before. Then, after seeing his name on the channel, I remembered that the DPL CEO had interviewed me for a management position. During the interview, it became clear that he wasn't sure what the position actually entailed and ended up diverting the conversation to a different topic. Later, I received a call from HR informing me that I was not shortlisted, even though I had cleared the technical interview. This happened about a year ago, and since then, they are still searching for that position. From time to time, I see the position advertised on LinkedIn.
    DPL is a Sethia company.

@@sweetsoul6147 could be this reason, or maybe bad company culture that no one is willing to stay for long.
