'You think Chavez Sr'd whoop motherfuckin' Ray Leanard?!'
Meldrick Taylor was 10 sec away from beating Chavez Sr. How's he beating Ray Leonard.
@@mikemckenna4023 in all due respect Taylor suffered career ending damage in that fight tho. He was never the same.
@@fvgc454ss yes Taylor never the same but Leonard still beats Chavez easy to small but does Chavez beat Duran ?
@@mikemckenna4023 Duran would be too much for Chavez. Its pretty obvious.
@@fvgc454ss yeah I think so too !
"u think chavez sr woulda whooped muffuckin lenard?" LOL
hell yeah Chavez would destroy him

Ray Robinson greatest WW/MW of all-time truth! Roger the honest Mayweather!
defo man
Ray Leonard greatest WW
@Bori2013
No man, because Duran actually is much greater than JCC, better resume and much more skilled.
Agree. Duran was more than just a brawler. No way he would have won belts at 154 and 160 if he was just a brawler
Why's this boxing debate always gotta turn into a CORNY ass racial epithet hurling contest among losers hiding behind the safety of anonymity? Point blank, Roger Mayweather is 100% correct. Roberto Duran IS (and I've said it in many a previous post) the greatest Latino fighter of ALL TIME; better than Carlos Monzon, better than Julio Cesar Chavez, better than Salvadore Sanchez, Zarate, Gomez... all of 'em. Ray Robinson would've murdered him at welterweight, though. Duran was the greatest lightweight of all time. What made him great was that, unlike the vast majority of Latino fighters, Duran was a supremely skilled defensive fighter when he wanted to be. Combine that with the Latino machismo, he was nearly unbeatable in his prime. Period. End of.
dude !!! that's right!
Duran is the only fighter that said "No Mas." On the contrary, Julio Cesar Chavez senior was unstoppable, and with his defensive, mending style and body punches with that granite chin, Julio was a rare specie of its own. Chavez was also a great defensive fighter and had the two record Guinesse in boxing for winning streak and for having more viewers in boxing history. Remember 89-0 and he was forced to fight all his #1 and #2 WBC WBA mandatories defending his world titles 33 times. Chavez never quit and was fear by many. GGG, Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather admires JCC and have said to see him as their idol. Check CZcams videos of those three fighters claiming Julio was their idol. Even GGG is using Chavez Mexican fighting style to beat his opponents and he admitted.
Ruben Rodriguez Chavez Sr was a great, great, GREAT fighter. I grew up watching him destroy Haugen, Camacho, Taylor, Mayweather, and many others. He's certainly the greatest Mexican fighter that I have ever seen, without question. However, I stand by my opinion that Duran is far superior. Take the most technical fighters that each faced: Ray Leonard for Duran, and Pernell Whitaker for Chavez. Duran gave Leonard a boxing lesson and made it look easy... Whitaker humiliated Chavez and was robbed being given a draw instead of the lopsided win he should've been awarded. However, there's more. When Hagler had his reign at Middleweight before losing to Leonard, he defended his crown twelve times, eleven by knockout. Who was the one and only man who not only escaped the KO, but gave Hagler all he could handle in a close fight? That's right, Manos de Piedra himself. But wait, there's EVEN more. Mind you, Duran was the greatest lightweight of all time, but in 1989; at the age of 37, quite a bit past his prime, he absolutely savaged Iran Barkley at Barkley's natural weight class of MIDDLEWEIGHT, to take that man's fucking title. Duran was a god in the ring. Period. Number 10 on my greatest 20 fighters of all time list, in fact (Chavez is #13 on that list). Have a good day, bro.
Ruben Rodriguez Chavez quit on his first fight with Oscar dela Hoya.so don't be saying that Duran is a quitter
Geez whats ur top ten in ORDER and il give u mine...
Listen, Ray Leaned and Duran are in a whole other world than the rest of these cats. Duran went 15 rounds with Marvin H for the middle weight title.
jerry willingham 15 competitive rounds too
jerry willingham and he went two with hearns 🙄 Duran style was so basic he was strategic brawler no slickness no speed hearns crushed him n two

Styles make fights. I am Mexican-American and I'm a huge fan of all my Latino boxers Chavez Duran DeLaHoya etc. However I have to admit that most ATG's from my African-American community posses a magnificent style when it comes to representing their form of boxing. No dis towards my Hispanic boxers, their form of boxing/brawling is amazing on its own and certainly gets me excited. Much love and respect to both boxing communities which have produced tremendous fighters.
Octavio Garcia respect 🔥🔥
100% agree.
"Have I met Ali? I trained his daughter" lmao smh
Roger love him some Sugar ray roberson, in a good way.
Mayweather Jr is amazing, but if he fought Sugar Ray Robinson in his Prime he would have been K.O.ed inside 8 rounds
not only robinson, duran, sugar ray leonard, roj jones jr, prime shane mosley, prime manny pacquiao all beat flyod mayweather jr ass. By the way you r so foolish to say this, did you watch castillo vs flyod 1 , maidana vs flyod 1,oscar vs flyod (why no rematch?), flyod lost but corrupt judges gave the fight. All hugging,Injection IV, running. He is nothing in front of those greats. Have he fought the best in their primes. To talk of greats he have losen every single fight.
@john gaynor looking like pure Mayweather fan. Answer my questions . 1) Why Flyod always avoid prime PAC ( 2000-2010) , to your knowledge everyone in boxing world knows he ducked prime fighter especially Manny Pacquiao, (Mohammed Ali,Lennox Lewis wrought on twitter facebook page requested Flyod to take Manny fight ) and Flyod let them get happen in 2015 ,if you see the fight it is shit, Flyod only running, Hugging, clinching, elbows is this how you call one TBE (it is fact or label on your TBE) or even anyone he fought in his later career ?
2. Does ending farewell fight with past prime Andre berto and McGregor is act of all time great. You know why Mohammed Ali,sugar Ray Robinson,Henry Armstrong, Roberto duran,Julio Cesar Chavez Sr., Joe Louis,Manny Pacquiao they all loss few matches because they are fearless , they fought the best available ? Not like Flyod cherry picking and ducking. To have that undefeated record in boxing is bullshit. Greatest boxer is know to whom they fought, when the faught (prime) .
3) In one sense Flyod make boxing loose it's lustre by being overdefensive just to win by points to make undefeated record. Fighting toe to Toe , tirelessly fighting, fighting prime fighter that's the greatest boxers have. He brings disgrace to boxing as now days everybody wants to remain undefeated . That's all motto of now days boxers. See welterweight now . Errol Spence jr. ,Terence Crawford, Keith Thurman fight not happened till now. See heavyweight Tyson fury, Anthony Joshua , Deontay Wilder fight not happened. Nowadays ducking is not on the peak due to this fighter Flyod who calls himself TBE.
4) Does Flyod ever fought Keith Thurman,Errol Spence jr., Terence Crawford, vasyl lomachenko? Ever. See many Pacquiao even at age of 40 taking a shot at one time Keith Thurman. May be if he wins we can see him fight Danny Garcia,Errol Spence jr, Terence Crawford fight.
5) Seen the Jose Louis Castillo vs Flyod I fight. Tell me who wins. Whole world knows the truth.
6) All time greatest lightweight Roberto Duran said on Mayweather :
czcams.com/video/o5jmahGJZGc/video.html
GreatestJulio Cesar Chavez on Mayweather :

@john gaynor people/fan like you had made him the phenomenon. Flyod has amazing blind fan like you, hence he trash talk and made a lot money.
Your 3 point show much stupid you are. Ali and other great fought after their prime just for money! You flomos just made disgrace to Boxing legends. Duran has 72-1, Chavez once was 89-0. To your understanding they had stopped fighting just to make undefeated strike.
Who he fought?, he always ducked every prime fighter. He is such a coward. I know u blindly follow Flyod. This is Flyod strengths. Coward has coward fans. He fought in Las Vegas only. Dogs have there own area, that's dog strength. Lion can fight everywhere ,anyone.
Mayweather Jr is not amazing
Chavez would not beat Leonard at the weight class Duran fought Leonard to beat him.
I agree because Chavez wasn't a welterweight, but at 140, Chavez would have beat Leonard. Remember that Leonard moved up from light welterweight to welterweight because he didn't want anything to do with the top light welterweight fighter at that time who was Aaron Pryor. And in my opinion, Chavez is the greatest light welterweight fighter of all time. At 140, Chavez is a MONSTER.
Ramiro Guerrero Not so fast my friend. I don't know if Chavez could beat Henry Armstrong, Loi, Locche(Greatest defensive fighter of all time), Benitez, or Pryor at 140. They would be awesome fights!
Storm Bringer Chavez did more as light welterweight than any of those guys. The same way Roberto Duran did more as a lightweight than any of the other lightweights in boxing history. I'm not taking away anything from those guys because they were great fighters, but they didn't rule the 140 pound division the way Chavez did. Whitaker only fought one fight at light welterweight because he didn't want to deal with Chavez in that weight class because he knew Chavez was the king at that weight division.
Ramiro Guerrero I'm not saying Chavez wasn't the best at 140lbs. But the guys I listed certainly had a very good chance of beating Chavez at www 140, particularly Armstrong & Pryor. They would be hell fights Chavez.
Leonard habría dado una paliza a Chavez, no importa la clase de peso
Duran would have beat Floyd hands down. As would Hearns, Sugar Ray Leonard and Especially Hagler!
your dream fight would of been a nightmare for Chavez!
Duran would of easily stopped Julio.
'Most people don't know shit about boxing....' _ Roger Mayweather
Robinson, The G.O.A.T !!)
@ 0:11, Mr Roger Mayweather said it best. Who the hell is going to break Sugar Ray Robinson's record. NO ONE! R.I.P Mr Roger.
Chavez doesn't compare to Roberto Duran. Great fighter, just a notch below Duran.
duran had more power. hands of stone.
Roger, you finally said something that I agree with: 1. Ali is the best HW ever and 2. SRR is the best WW & MW ever.
***** I agree that SRR is the best p4p fighter ever. But who was comparing him to Ali??? Ali of the 60's was the best HW ever.
I respectfully disagree. While Tyson was a great fighter, he did show true cowardice when fighters could take his punch and give it back to him. Evander Holyfield really exposed a tremendous amount of Tysons flaws. Plus, look at the mediocre fighters that went the distance with a prime Tyson. Tyson is like a hard biting, but cur pit bull. ATG nevertheless, but lets not forget his numerous flaws which would cause him numerous problems against many fighters.
SRR is the best p4p fighter ever and there isn't even a close 2nd. Fighters like Ali, Greb, Burley, Armstrong have there place among the elite of the elite, but they all take a back seat to Walker Smith (SRR).
People like u make me sick yeah Ray Robinson is talent wise the best to ever do it but don't come out and say he's the best welterweight ever ... There's no film of him as a welterweight so u can't possibly come to that conclusion unless u was around New York in the 1940s
Yes, there is footage. Look you'll find it.
In 2002, Ring Magazine published the following top ten based on a ranking of the 80 best fighters of the previous 80 years:
1. Sugar Ray Robinson
2. Henry Armstrong
3. Muhammad Ali
4. Joe Louis
5. Roberto Duran
6. Willie Pep
7. Harry Greb
8. Benny Leonard
9. Sugar Ray Leonard
10. Pernell Whitaker
People overlook the fact that Robinson was really a 147 pounder. The best at 147 and the GOAT. Duran was probably the best at 135.
Duran would of fuck Chavez up.
I used to watch him on Univision when he was the Mexican Assassin
Duran is greater than Chavez. When Chavez was undefeated, most of his resume was cans. Duran is the greatest lightweight who beat one of the greatest welterweights.
he would of stopped Chavez at either weight! wouldn't of been competitive at all.
Always told the truth, what a legend RIP Roger Mayweather.
I agree with this dude Duran the best Latin fighter what he did to Leonard was amazing and losing to hagler was also how great he was Chávez could never top that
@shawn newtonSo in your opinión whos the best mexican boxer ever?
@garibay711cod: Chavez is in my top 12 greatest of all time but Duran is like number 9 greatest of all time in terms of legacy. Chavez a great warrior and so was Duran but Duran's legacy is far greater. "King of the Lightweights", Champion in like 4 or 5 different weight classes, fought like 5 or 6 Hall of Famers, Beat some tough fighters along the way and beloved by millions. Chavez was a great fighter, also beloved by millions but Duran has the greatest legacy and is ranked higher of ATG's.
oh you're trying to be funny? how about Chavez quitting on his stool against DeLaHoya during their 2nd encounter! or looking for referee assistance and intervention during his 2nd fight against Randall.
@garibay711cod: At lightweight, the hands of stone has a better legacy than Chavez period!! Second, Duran beat the greatest welterweight of the 80's in Ray Leonard. Chavez lost to Randall, was losing on points to Taylor and got a gift against Whittaker. Chavez didn't beat any great welterweights but Duran did.
@chalinovilla: Trust me, I like Chavez but Chavez couldn't fuck with Duran or Hearns. Hearns would have knocked Chavez out in less than a round. Trust me on that one dawwg.
I definitely agree with your statement! Sal Sanchez was light-years superior and in my humble opinion Olivares too.
cause Chavez's primary defense is his solid chin. Leonard could've easily outpointed Chavez.
marcsman229 Na coach Chavez’s primary defense is his small parry’s and tight guard, next is his head movement and then the chin
Chavez was great, but Duran was definitely better.
@WaqarK96: Why do y'all do that? It is totally irrelevant to say how somebody fighting in the 40's would do against somebody from the 80's. If you don't believe that Robinson is not the greatest middleweight of all time, consider this...Robinson middleweight record in his PRIME was 45 - 4. 3 of the losses came in title fights and plus Robinson was an old man! Furthermore, Robinson won the middleweight title like 4 different occasions and defended the title successfully 10 times!
R I P. YOU WILL BE MISSED. PEACE GOD BLESSED
Actually, Roberto Duran is better than Chavez by far..When Chavez turned pro, Duran was already a 2 time world champion and a 12 year veteran..and was considered the best lightweight already...Chavez was awesome, but not as exiting as Duran....Duran was beating the shit outta young Champions when he was already done as a fighter.
lol @ his response to your question about ali
@LAMEXAME duran was at his best at lightweight
SRR...Best..WW..And..MW..Duran..Best..Lightweight..EVER..PERIOD..

the best MW of all time is Carlos Monzon
Srr ain’t the best middleweight
@@mr.t658 wrong Marvin Hagler the best MW
"I don't think. I know"
Duran wasnt that much older than he was from the first fight because the 2nd fight with Leonard happened like 5 months after son.
THE POINT IS DURAN BALLOONED TO 228 AND TURNED HIS TRAINING CAMP INTO A FAT FARM FOR THE SECOND FIGHT. HIS OWN FAULT. JUST LOOK AT HIS BODY DEFINITION FROM FIRST AND SECOND FIGHTS. SOLID WELL DEFINED BODY IN THE FIRST COMPARED TO THE SECOND FIGHT A BODY JUST WEIGHT LOSSED. FACT DURAN WAS PAST HIS PRIME WHEN JUMPING WEIGHT DIVISIONS. HE WAS RETIRING AFTER DOMINATING THE LIGHTWEIGHT DIVISION BUT THAT CHANGED. SO ITS NOT THAT HE WAS ABOUT SAME AGE IT WAS THE HUGE AMOUNT OF WEIGHT HE HAD TO LOSE ON THAT SMALL FRAME OF HIS FOR THE SECOND FIGHT PLUS ALL THE DIURETICS HE USED GIVEN TO HIM BY MUHAMMAD ALI'S DOCTOR. FACTS. FUNNY THING THOUGH EVEN WITH ALL THAT THE SCORECARDS STILL SHOWED IT A ONE ROUND DIFFERENCE AT THAT POINT.
You ask this guy a question and he will eventually start talking about himself and how great he is.
Sorry did he just say buster douglas at 0:23?
I have Robinson ranked as the greatest welterweight and the greatest middleweight fighter of all time just like Roger. Roger thanks for vindicating me man. Roger is the expert so Roger knows what he is talking about.
I HATE when people judge Roberto Duran on the 2nd fight vs Leonard. he didn't give up he was just annoyed with Leonard because He was dancing around instead of fighting and he threw the fight away. He basically said, "fuck this guy, he's not fighting. I'm here to fight."
That fight was Rigged, fight happened way to soon, Duran was out of shape, only 4 months after there 1st fight
henry Armstrong was prob 2nd best welter n 2nd best boxer period of all time. leonard is right there and further down u got whitaker n Floyd jnr. ''You think Chavez could whip Ray leonard?!'' That's it Right there lol. You CANNOT argue with him on that haha.
Armstrong welterweight resume is overrated. He mostly depended his title against lightweights and sometimes lightweights with losing record. Fans today are fucking Mayweather for fighting lightweight Marquez yet Armstrong did that consistently in his day.
Kid Gavilan is probably the second greatest welterweight of all time. The guy was very underrated even among experts perhaps because he failed to become a Middleweight Champion.
@@ralphdupas6179ok... You seem to know your stuff. Armstrong threw more punches than anybody though, n would be a match for anybody. He prob wasnt even a big welter? Having won tiles at feather and lightweight? Id have to back and look at the history cos yes there are some like Barny ross? The original Jersy Joe walcott was a welter? Felix trinidad was a great welter too. Hector Camacho could have been up there if he'd trained properly. Tommy hearns too. The only welterweight in the day who handled him was leonard. It's prob down to the two sugar rays though who THE BEST Welterweights. Roger be fair.. Laila Ali was WAY bigger than Christie martin. If Duran had been a natural welterweight , he may have even topped the list. He was prob the greatest light weight ever.
What I honestly hate, is ignorant "fans" who don't wanna realize the truth. As far as Hispanic Boxers Duran is number 1...as far as Lightweights Duran is number 1....and far as "All Time Greats" Duran is top 4 or 5. Duran is who paved the way for Chavez Jr....When Duran fought Hagler, Hearns, and Leonard, Barkley, Moore he was out of his prime! and he still gave them hard fight! When Chavez reached pass him prime he got his ass whooped by Kosta and De La Hoya!
duran by farrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr better the chavez . ( duran too strong too fast , too punching power ,if duran can ko fighter from 168 image what would happen with chavez in 140 chavez too slow
i think he means the majority of good fighters is from the mid-west.
Bringing Ray Robinson into conversation is stupid . Totally different era. Leonard was best Welterweight in 80's !
He's saying that Kuzz Chavez ko'd the shit out of him
chavez would never beat ray leonard. if youve ever seen the meldrick taylor fight or the pernell witaker fight you would know this. so yeah i would say duran is better.
***** Sloppy? No... just cause they are not defensive technicians doesn't mean they are sloppy. Offensively they are a lot more skilled and technical than their defensive counterparts.
You're so right!!
Hes Panamanian dude..
Roy Jones was a natural middleweight but was good enough to fight at the light heavyweight division. Mike tyson would have had about 30 or 40 pounds over him, he would get destroyed.
Hands of Stone !!!!!!!!!!!
127 - 1 say no more! Roger boxed with the best, was a world champion, trained the best female boxer in history, and possibly the best pound 4 pound boxer in history-(but most likely somewhere in the top 10) In Money May. Haters r left with nothing to do but watch and comment hateful things on Utube.
I dont recall duran being 89-0. And what does it matter if duran was already a 2 time champion when chavez turned pro? hes nearly 10 years older.
Duran at his prme was 72-1 fighting no taxi drivers, but the best of his time.

Me personally I think he forgot about Sanchez
Salvador Sanchez was nice af
Come on Sanchez just fought one division …no way
You think Andy Ruiz woulda handed Joshua his ass?.
@erik3423 WTH are u talking about Leonard was a Welterweight at one point in his career so was Chavez Sr. not to say they were in same division at the sometime but they both fought at Welter and I still think Leonard would whoop him!!!! That's like saying Mayweather Jr. Against Hearns at WW which Thomas Hearns would Whoop him
I wa to see Laila vs Shannon Lee
lmao hes still mad that Chavez knocked him the fuck out with a flying punch and if you havn't see that fight look it up
Elie you shoulda asked him if he was still pissed that Chavez beat his ass twice lmao
Duran and Chavez are considered the greatest boxer of Latin America
@jesusneverexisted300 Robinson is definetely one of the greatest welterweights if not the greatest. But not too sure about him being the greatest middleweight, i think hagler would beat up srr at middleweight.
yea because chavez is younger than duran. but if they both started at the same time chavez would have beaten him.
No lies
Duran ko'd a horse with a body shot!
thats right. only can compare careers. and chavez is the best
She outweigh Christy Martin by 30 pounds
@panchov007 duran is from panama
thers also alot of people that say michael phelps was better than robinson and roger doesnt like chavez because he bet hes ass twice ie
What up with the Spankees Cap ESnews?!
Running Rebels Cap more like it.
Duran lost to Leonard twice. Leonard lost to Camacho. Camacho lost to Chavez, which makes Chavez better than both of them. Do you see how dumb this can get? We should evaluate them in terms of performances and not on paper.
Do you really know about boxing? 1- Duran Beat Leonard when both where on their primes. 2- Duran at 46 beat camacho, they stole the fight form him. 46 years old...at that age chavez couldnt beat kawashi.
Pardon my ignorance, but aside from Marcel and Pedroza, neither of which are household names, who did Duran fight before moving up to welterweight? He did beat Palomino, had a close fight with SRL (that alone is a lot), but then lost to Benitez, Hearns, and SRL twice. He pulled off victories over a 13 fight champion in Davey Moore, beat a slow one-dimensional Barkley and lost to Hagler. He lost to several "unknowns" along the way. The guy was good, but where does his Greatness lie? I ask this with all due respect.
Buchanan & Esteban DeJesus 3x. Duran was the greatest LW ever.
Hoka Hey his record was 72-1 55 KOs as a lightweight and he was 5'7 and his most natural 135 pounder and he went all the way up to super middle(168) and won titles... his legacy writes itself also one of the last few to get over 100 wins aswell and his career spanned over 5 decades...
You are looking at a Duran past his prime. Roberto Duran was the greatest Lightweight ever. He turned pro at 16 and fought Leonard at about 30 years old. He was 72-1 at the time. You talk about Barkley but he beat Hearns twice who beat Duran. Barkley is way bigger than Duran and Roberto knocked him down. Do your research. He is a example of a boxer who stayed around too long and ruined his legacy. He still is one of the best.
Roger was right Robinson Greatest welterweight of All time his nephew great but not greater than RAY Robinson I mean look at the records All those guys that went the distance with Floyd Mosley. Oscar. Cotto PAC Man and Juda. Robinson stops them in spectacular fashion
Duran was better than Chavez but like Chavez he was a quitter. hee hee hee
hes just saying duran is better than chavez cause he got knocked the fuck out twice by julio.. hes still mad cant you tell?
Duran is way way beter than Julio. He is just being honest.
lol fair point about chavez not being able to beat sugar ray leonard. end of discussion man. chavez was GREAT but NO WAY he beats the sugar man. duran was chavez squared. n robinson n leonard were Floyd squared.
Yeah Duran didn't knock my ass so i say Duran. Leonard got to Duran head, Chavez in hes prime he never quit, all ways found a way to knock u out even with 2 seconds left lol!
Chavez did quit, 3 times in his career. Chavez fought all the cap drivers of tijuana, Duran fought the best, from 118 to 172....
@Jose21443 did you see the punch Jose? It was the ghetto whopper, its a punch Julio would throw in the ghetto at 3 in the morning... and he leaped and nailed Mayweather with an over hand right from ten feet away, Roger was on queer street
Roger maywether he still has resentment after the 2 beatings that gave chavez but I think that until the grosser knows that chavez wins to duran easy the boxing of duran only is based on more complete punch and moved the waist roberto duran only wise Receive blows
@WaqarK96; LOL! Get him man!
of course he doesn't like Chavez! lol Chavez "whooped" his ASS! lol
NO IDEA WHAT ROGERS SAYING?????
chavez sr made him quit plus ktfo of him in the first fight
differents styles and differents skills, the champs belt records says all. chavez!!,, duran great too but not even close
They were not the same weight so..... Roy jones would get his ass kicked by mike tyson, leonard would get wooped by roy jones..
all i know duran quit and chavez never quit
Chavez quit three times in his career.
@panchov007 Duran isn't mexican...
he couldnt beat leonard cuzz he was a small fighter but chaves beat the shit out of you roger.. oooh
go Panama
Chavez = best mexican boxer never once in ring just stopped and quit like duran.
he wouldn't you smoking LoL
