Why is the audio quality so bad even though there is a microphone right in front of him?
Vjeran is very talented and I really enjoy his videos. But here I suspect he mixed the on camera mic with the external mic in the timeline. Can happen to the best.
He forgot to turn it on 😂

Interesting as ever Vjeran, thanks. I prefer longer videos - it feels like The Verge puts out a lot less ~10 minute content these days and I miss that and benefiting from the expertise of you all. What about doing a short + a longer video for things?
Points I might've been interested in but probably aren't possible to cover in something this length:
- comparison with Mavic
- comparison with regular FPV quadcopter
- how robust is it?
- can you change the camera direction? .

I'm not much invested into drones but I keep an eye on news. This short version gave me what i needed to know. Always avoided Verge's long videos that aren't about smartphones. Loved this legnth.
Does avata 2 have obstacle sensors like dji mini 4 pro? Going to get my first drone so which would be better for general shots. Image quality looks same to mini 4 pro due to same sensor being used.
Will there be any simulation available for avata 2 or I should directly start learning with actual drone with avata 2
No obstacle avoidance sensors here, just positioning sensors which help with landing. The image is comparable with the Mini 4 Pro in terms of clarity, color and such,, but aperture here is f/2.8 so will naturally introduce more noise in low light conditions. Are you looking to capture video or photos? (This is also not a 3-axis gimbal, so you won't get footage like your regular cinematic drone)
As far as simulations. I am not sure, but don't think you need an Avata 2 specific sim. Most other ones will teach you what you need to know.

With the first dji fpv drone you needed a look out . Does this new one need a extra person for a look out ?

Separate. GyroFlow is the one I use. The only thing you need to do on the drone is turn off EIS & set lens width to "wide".
Not too much on the image quality - does it seem pretty much the same as the Avata 1?
Good review, but definitely too short. Would've liked more coverage of the goggles and controller, specifically a demonstration of what he was talking about w/r/t not being able to see in the corner of the screen.
where is the onboard SD card located? Is it in the same stubborn place as the AV1?
Great question! And it is the VERY first thing I've noticed when I unboxed it. Good news - it is located on the side of the body, on a flat surface between the two props and it is super accessible! The USB-C port is also there. The Avata 1 placement was truly unacceptable.
So it doesn’t have a vertical option? You have to edit to get vertical?
I found this drone on the internet for 16 bucks might gonna buy it

Yup. No limits in M mode. However there is a warning on the app about it though. I didn't force it as a freestyle drone, but did get a few manual flips and dives in. It handles dives better than Avata 1, but you'll still feel some turbulence (which is to be expected).
At the time the Goggles 2 and Controller 2 are not compatible. Supposed to change in a month or so. I don't know if it will be both the Controller 2 and the Goggles 2 or just the Goggles 2, v2 and integra?
Goggles should all work, tbd on the RC & MC. Currently, only the ones work.

How is the speed limit, if that's even a thing with these drones, measured, cause I'm not finding anything on the Adorama link in the video.
Sport mode is slightly faster than before (35mph vs 31mph), but normal (17mph) & manual (60mph) are all the same as Avata 1.
Too short for me. I feel this is to appease the algorithm. It sometimes makes me think that the algorithm is content creators version of shareholders…trying to please them is not always in the best interests of the customer. A ‘Short’ should be the short version of a video.
Wait...the old remotes don't work? DAMNIT! I just bought one to practice on the Sims before buying the Avata, now the 2 is out and I was hoping to get that. Did I just lose out on 300 bucks for that controller?

Great question! It is still a loud buzzy drone, but it is definitely less pitchy, which is great news. I haven't done a side by side, but those were my very first impressions.
I feel like 2:30 is too short for a review. It's fine as teaser content on other social media, but if I'm on CZcams, I'm looking for 5+ minute videos for an "Everything you need to know" quick summary with 10+ minute for a full review.

I like that it was short, but 2:30 is too short. I'm sure it will have an audience, but Verges audience, I think, is not it. Maybe 4-7 minutes if you're going short.

Too short the audio is mid and vjeran needs more screen/audio time, I'm bummed not seeing an indepth video about this new avata, as I was fown to buy s couple if they sre truly capable this time around and not first gen shor.
I mean, it wasn’t really everything I needed to know.. I needed a proper drone pilot to really put it through its paces.

Short videos are fine, but I do feel like I don’t get much “entertainment” from the video. I can’t quite nail it down, but maybe it just felt too simple.

The video was too short. For someone who has no clue about the previous drone and has no idea about this product. I would need to watch another video to understand the product. Not something I expect from the Verge

The SD cards I’ve used in the past were only 32 gig. So I won’t be buying any for the DJI Avata 2. 46 is plenty

46 Gigabits??? that equates to 5.75 Gigabytes. Not impressive at all. but if you reverse 46 to 64 and say "GigaBytes" then ... good. But what is it?
