I've been flying since I was 16 and at age 19 flew around the world by myself in the same 1981 A36 Beechcraft Bonanza I still fly, becoming the youngest person ever to solo circumnavigate by aircraft.
Now, I'm sharing all kinds of aviation adventures with YOU! Ride along as we explore the world from the air and get a close up look at some of aviation's best flight experiences and destinations.

The cirrus back seats can lay down when you pull the pin’s...got my two road bikes in and road up the California coast on hwy 1. Little River. KLLR. Great video. Don’t be bashing us cirrus dudes. 😎😀
Why not, their not worth half the sticker price and the cessna 400 does everything better than a Cirrus. God only knows why they quit building that much better airplane.
It’s the Audi of the sky. Overpriced and a bit Volkswagen
@@tropicthndr One word: "parachute"
KLLR is one of my favorites!
@@jamman55 Good pilots do not need a parachute. Man has been flying safely for over 100 years. Most GA accidents are pilot error. I would rather spend the extra $15 or $20K on advanced flight training in an RV-10.
Found out I won a scholarship, so I'll be starting flight training in 3 days. And you posted a video too! Best day ever :)
Oh wow! Congrats!
Nice
Congratulations. Enjoy every minute of it!
Congratulations!!!!
Ray scholarship?
15:33 "some occasional continuous flight chops has been reported through here" that guy gets everywhere! and they have to warn you he's in the area ?
He says "slight chop" but it's still a good joke :)
😂😂😂
For a second, I thought he said the same thing.
hahaha
Super awesome to see you flying in my old stomping ground. If you haven’t been up to gooseberry falls or Lester park, I recommend both. Just got my instrument rating up there a couple weeks ago. Your videos have helped to provide additional inspiration to my own personal flying. Thanks for doing what you do.
Matt, really enjoy your videos. Always awesome to see a new one drop! You do a great job and it's really cool to watch your flights and the activities you do on your trips. Keep up the great work. It's appreciated!
Awesome Video Matt! We love your channel. Thanks for bringing us AWESOME Aviation content. Love from South Africa 🇿🇦✈️!
Great to see you again. Keep 'em coming.
Great video! Always appreciate the food suggestions.
I never heard of Katama (1B2) at Martha's Vinyard until I saw your breakfast flight a few years ago. Now it's one of my favorite places to fly. Well, it used to be.
Love watching your adventures in that gorgeous plane. Well done mate ;-)
Brilliant move guys (TrustPilotdot coma), just forwarded to a friend in Powell River BC Canada. We 'fly' online usually a few times a week when possible.
Always enjoy the variety of places/things you two get up to. Thankyou for sharing your adventures. :)
nbrettoner Is it that brilliant to build a website that’s already been done. Try Fly2lunch.com.
Beautiful flight and another fabulous video. Thank you.👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I would highly recommend flying from DYT to KCKC all the way up the north shore. If you fly it low you can see some amazing homes and landscape. I’ve done it 3 times and it is amazing each time!
Great video, Matt! I fly out of DLH, and did my training at DYT years ago. You should land at DLH sometime, (park at Monaco Air), and take a video tour of Cirrus. I don't fly a Cirrus myself, but the factory is really interesting.
I like that you are still based at home in S.D., I have never been to Aberdeen, but my Father's family was at Rapid City and I have spent some time there abouts several times, enjoy your video's Thanks Mat
Love your videos (even though I really hate flying, but it still fascinates me). Just one request: name the airports (with a caption) that you fly into and out of. I'm a Brit in Japan and don't always know where you are (route maps would help, too).
I love this video and am re-watching it again today to enjoy my city from above. Canal is always fun for a stroll, COVID or no COVID. Looks like you also enjoyed Canal Park Brewing Company. I like their food but prefer Hoops for brews (including Duluth Coffee Company nitro on tap :), and you'd also love the atmosphere there. The boardwalk has been destroyed since last fall's 70 mph mini-lake hurricane that threw good-sized rocks well into the back yard of the Canal Park hotels. If you walk farther down toward Fitgers, you'll see the engineered reinforcements survived that storm. It's just going to take time to get the whole lake walk up to that spec. Superior doesn't mess around! Again, thanks for stopping by. Hope to "see" you again soon, Matt.
Imagine if Meigs was still open. Would be amazing for GA. Nice video!
It’s good to see these posts showing up again! :)
I really appreciate you inviting us along on the trip. Really cool.
Yes, I can.
LOL
Always find your productions fun, keep up the good work.
Drinking game: take a shot every time Matt touches the prop lever before takeoff
hahaha i noticed that as well
17:03 “cya Matt” hahaha that is AWESOME! 😂🤙🏼
I love these videos man keep up the amazing work! Stay Safe.
Ok so Matt! Got great news, so remember I was going to finish my pilots license back in April? Well all this stuff happened with Covid 19 so I put it off. Well called today and rescheduled, my start date is September 26th at Lunken Airport in Cincinnati Ohio!
Also I got Microsoft Flight simulator 2020 and it's pretty amazing. I been repeating some of your flights and man I have to say I'm jealous of you ☺️ lol. Thanks for all these videos and you all stay safe with all of this going on and hopefully I cross paths with you in the sky one day buddy!
Hi Matt, love the videos been following for a couple years now. It would be helpful if you could raise the sun visors when you are shooting out the front, they cover most of the windshield. Thanks and stay safe.
Sweet! Fly up to KEVM and say hi . I am not a pilot, but love your channel Matt!
OMG! KPRC Love Field is my airport. Thanks for choosing that for your video!
I just love flying with you guys.
Love the idea of TrustyPilot.com I think we definitely need a way to filter airports that have something to do nearby. However, I think charging a subscription without being able to first see what’s on there isn’t a recipe for quick growth at an early stage. Maybe give a free trial at least, or limit free access to 100mi from “home airport”
Awesome flight thanks for the ride.
That canal was dug through a farmer's land who was out of town to beat an injunction. When he got home and saw what the city had done he packed up and left for Seattle. The Boeing family got going from Duluth.
Aberdeen! What a nice little town. Drove through there a few weeks ago.
This is a great little video to watch at 6:30am on a Saturday morning lie in. 😁👍
Great video as always!
Good stuff always Matt ✌️
I routinely get 15.2 GPH @ 176 KTAS in G3 SR22 TN @ 8,000 - 14,000 feet and the fuel flow goes down as the altitude and speed go up. Sounds like Matt needs to refresh his understanding of what a Cirrus can do.
How well do the 3 full size bikes fit in the back with 3 people?
@@mattguthmiller I've only done two full-sized bikes so far. I'd guess you have a large advantage in total cabin volume, useful load, and probably endurance. With two adults and typical baggage, I can carry full tanks (92 gallons) and economy cruise (65%) for about 6 hours, or normal cruise (75%) for about 5-1/2 hours.
-Willard Munger trail system, old RR ROWs, is a great way to tour, even on bikes, while B&Bing the nights and days. ;
Notification: N367HP has posted. I get a cup of coffee and some Tim Tams before clicking on the video. You know, you just know, there will be snacking whilst airborne and eating when landed and you don't want to be caught mid-video without something to eat at hand. G'day. :)
DrWHOs Tardis funnily Enough my friend in Perth just told me about “Tim Tams” the other day. I understand they’re quite the thing in Australia. She was literally raving about them. 😁👍
They are delish - they remind me of Penguins in the UK! 😋
Tim Tams... Spot the Aussie : )
@@witblitsfilm Well spotted ;)
Tim-Tams are awesome. It's been 20 years since I have had them though. I wish we could get them in the US.
Ur leaving my dream❤️❤️
Love ur videos
Matt Great videos !
Matt you seem like a cool dude love your vids shouting out from Jamaica
That prop knob gets the best of your love Matthew!
I enjoyed Aberdeen SD. I went up for work. nice little town
I’m from Roscoe which If u don’t know Is about 40 mile west of Aberdeen
love the videos dude
Awesome video! You should fly to HLN (Helena Regional Airport).
Matt, it would be a bit further but KBAK has Hangar 5 it's a breakfast/lunch restaurant. The food is good!
The best plane is the plane you build yourself. VANS RV10!!!!!!!!
Great video Matt. Love your Bonanza such a versatile fun plane.
Should have queued the Prince at 16:00!
Great stuff
wow!!! beautiful landing...
Your lights in the cowling and on the nose gear, Looks like LED on the gear and HID in the cowling, correct ?
Love your videos Matt! Did your buddy have to remove the rear seat in his Piper to get the bikes in? I have an Arrow II and am looking at folding bikes.
Woooo a new video at last!
I just signed up for the website and it looks great. One thing you need is a suggestion box of some sorts. A great BBQ place called Hard 8 in Stephenville, TX (KSEP) will pick you up at the airport. That is the kind of thing that only local pilots will know about and the best way to grow your database. Good luck with the site.
Thanks, happy you like it! We're adding more every day, and we actually even have a process that we think should find those sorts of places too, so we'll be adding details like airport pickups as well. And you can always shoot an email to help @ trustypilot.com with those suggestions too :) I'll make sure Hard 8 is on the list to be added though!
Matt Guthmiller thanks. I think ForeFlight has some good info on that location as well.
Since you're up north, you should try Eau Claire, they have awesome burgers on the ramp! (Not sure if they're still open cuz of Covid)
I don't trust anyone to put the plane away. I always participate, and inspect after, but maybe that's just me. Great video and flight though guys! I always look forward to more!
At 12:09 you almost had my house in the shot! I'm taking flight lesson at Superior Bong Airport, and am guilty of talking my CFI's ear off about your videos. Wish I would have known you were in town, I would have driven down to Canal Park for a celebity sighting!
Liked the aero braking. Military style!
Another great video! Does your throttle only operate with a vernier twisting motion?
Pretty cool to see a food channel feature so much flying. You should do a collab with Binging with Babish
As a duluthian, i got excited when I saw the aerial lift bridge in the intro
You ended up flying pretty much straight over my house on this flight! 😀
The construction thats happening on the lake front is the city repairing the board walk from the storm surges hitting it.
Matt, Do you like EMBRAER? if you do not know the company, it is an aircraft manufacturer from here in Brazil, I recommend it if you are interested in visiting the factory here in Brazil, as you did in the video with Bombardier, there are some new planes that would be interesting to show, like the Lineage 1000 is the largest business jet in the world
This was a good one looking forward to more. If your struggling to find something to do I'm available for in air entertainment.
Come by Hilton Head sometime (HXD). I’m a CFI over here and let’s do some formation
Looks like fun! I enjoy your videos! You should get some folding bikes then you wouldn’t have to take the seats out. Origami makes some good ones, we use them in my dads V-tail.
OMG the costco cheeto / chex mix & whatever mix. I saw it!
Nice vid, enjoyed it. Final landing looked sweet enough indeed...a little lower than one might have wanted given strong winds? Not picking at ya, just wondering. :--)
As an avgeek, student pilot and flight simmer i would really want you Matt to try some flight simulators at home and make some CZcams videos about it that would be very fun! Just saying 🙂
Much better than an SUV. 180 knots in a straight line and over water too!
Great stuff, Matt!! Your channel has a big part of the inspiration for my return to flying and starting my channel, That Hippie Pilot, documenting my midlife career change. Thanks for sharing all of the great things that make general aviation AMAZING! - Chris
Leave it to you to put together all the eating joints .......great Matt
11:05 You guys remember Nate from this view here...😂
Hey Matt, I think it's interesting how GA has had better access to some larger airports under Covid-19 lockdown. Any chance for dinner at O'Hare? 😉
Lol. Still the same parking fees! O'Hare's actually not as bad as some though
@@mattguthmiller LOL put that Patreon to good use!
@MaximDS Not true.
Just the initial intro to this in the restaurant my first thought was Grandma’s in Duluth.
Been following your channel for a year now...I wonder how do you get cellphone reception in the sky...Cheers!
Is a 3 point seatbelt good enough for negative Gs?
Interesting it burns about the same fuel as an SR22T at altitude when the bonanza is a lot roomier. It's a winnebago. That shouldn't be the case. The Cirrus is a turbo as well.
16:00 I think there are birds in your cockpit, mate! lol
U can see he had a dirty joke in his mind when he asked is it tight u see that smirk 😏 lol I love 💕 your videos brother!!!
Great flight thanks for sharing. What year is your A36?
You must be talking about the sr-22T, I cruise at roughly 11 GPH at around 150 TAS in my SR-20. Definitely can’t fit bike though.
So like I watched your video while laying in bed thinking that it would be boring and put me to sleep but it wasn’t boring 😎
Im wondering about the throttle in bonanza, do you have to twist it before you pull/push to adjust the throttle?
Nice video 👍
I’d be surprised if it hadn’t been asked before, but do you have a log of total miles for this plane and total miles that *you* have flown?
Next time your in DLH let me know I’ll be happy to give you a tour
There are a lot of things a Bonanza can do that a Cirrus can't. I've flown a lot in Cirrus, and I love the bonanza way more.
Yea, number one is being able to get a really good used one at less than half the stupid cost of a new cirrus, even a Blackwell Bonanza that’s worth gold is still cheaper than a idiotic SR22. RV10 owners are the smart ones that make SR22 owners look like complete morons.
Next time you’re flying over Brainerd look me up and swing into Wings cafe for some lunch!
Thanks when was the last time u released a vid
Hi Matt, looking at your Bonanza G36, it has mainly screen avionics, can you tell me the setup for your aircraft? Thanks
What is it in the difference in display that makes the two left screens flicker but not the right 2?
Did u keep ur plane at hanger 7 in Aberdeen?
Equipping this already beast with a turbine would be awesome.
Cheers from France Americans flyers.
If your ever over Ohio stop at TSO for a breakfast or an amazing slice of pie!
Love your content brother. Great intro BTW. Hilarious! Take-out to eat-in? LOL!!! Random question. You have flown in/out of Fargo? Hector International? That would be my airport. I joke. I kid, of course. My name is Hector and when I moved to Fargo (I lived there for approx. 2.5 yrs) and I found out that the airport's name was Hector I went and took a pic in front of the sign right on I-29. My family and friends didn't believe me. LOL!
czcams.com/video/DE7pEzowDfw/video.html
The Cirrus is a luxury 4 seaters with TKS fluid and in built oxygen system a bit like a Mooney Ovation. The Bonanza was not built for being a luxury plane so yes it can fly 6 folks but not in the same comfort as in a Cirrus.
Yeah, the Bonanza’s definitely a lot more comfortable with way more space and non-tinfoil seats
You should consider flying down to BRO or PIL. The Rio Grand Valley is a great place for authentic Mexican Food.
