As I see it, the CEO has to do two things to promote Kodak's name. 1. Production and promotion of digital cameras. 2. Production and promotion of printing presses suitable for printing.

very good case study, only if Kodak was not stubborn in their decision making and listen to their minds and not their hearts things would have been different. If I was in Kodak's position and if I'm not sure how the digital camera will perform in the market
1. I would have branded the digital camera under a new name and tested it that way if it does not work it can be discarded if it's a win it can be renamed under Kodak.
2. Even when Canon and Nikkon entered it would have been a great opportunity to go digital because they already educated the market on behalf of Kodak.
3. Support another brand to go digital or even buy Canon or Nikkon. And continue with the 'Kodak moment...'

And I design the world best camera because I have enough resources to do that. After that I'm doing a big marketing campaign by using small photographers to famous photographers. The way I see it is they could've pay more attention to research team as they are the ones who make sure the business is sustainable over the time. Through implementing various marketing strategies & campaigns they could've brought up the digital camera to the world by introducing it while slowly giving up their old products and claiming for the dominance over digital camera industry and sales.
This is what I would've done too!
If I’m CEO
1. I formed newly innovative team who took leadership to make that digital camera
2. Formed customer care and teaching Center to introduce new products
3. Photo paper to next level like effect, 3D options etc
4. Photo role has to improve with chips because than we have 2 copies already

In 90's KODAK might thought as the was we are currently thinking about electric cars (TESLA) but as the CEO I would have done a promotion about a product differentiation why digital cameras could be better that there current products. This would have gelp them to charge a higher pricing stagedy eventhough rival competitors got benefits from economies of scale due to the unique selling point
