This is a tutorial on how to flash your xbox. This allows you to play modded/downloaded games off the internet without paying for them.
NOTE!
Flashing them DOES NOT mean that u cannot play on live.
Also u CAN still play Xbox 360 Games
+ Origional XBox Games

Just want to point out that the model of the cd-rom drive matters a lot when flashing an xbox and many xboxes have different cd-rom drives. Your's may require a different flashing method i.e. software etc. This method does in fact work if you have all of the correct components. Personally before I begin screwing around with anything that requires opening a commercial product and reconfiguring it I do my research first isolate the method I need and have all of the files downloaded and ready to go before I start hooking them up to my computer and realizing I am missing something crucial.I have flashed all manner of devices for games phones etc. Many of them can be frustrating if you don't have a detailed plan of attack. This video is decent enough to go along with some written instructions to help you get the job done.
How do I know the right software for the cd rom I have?
this is the best tutorial on youtube for flashing the benq drive, the firmware you provided did not work on my drive so i had to search another version of the firmware for the benq drive and got it to work with this method, also if it gives a "E-74 error just unplug the fans and let it overheat, when both the red lights on the left portion of where the green lights are it has overheated when it does that unplug and plug back in and you are sorted, thanks again mattie432 you are legend my friend,
@reggiejr3 Okay so idk how you will play live but to play offline :
go into your system settings > Memory > Press Y when you hover over hard drive > Clear system cache
Then after you are going to want to re-flash your disk drive.

hey mattie great vid, just one question.
after the jungle flasher does all the loading thingy at 9: 15, do i just unplug it from the computer and put the ports in their original places and im ready to play right?

If u take off the faceplate and look through the hole above memory card slot B u can tell what drive u have! Red wires: Samsung
White wires: BenQ
No Wires: Hitichi (i dont know how to spell it lol)
Yellow wires: LiteOn
Ok i have a couple questions because im about to flash it right now, Is the Sata Cable in my Pc hardware? or can i use the regular xbox wire that you had was black and connect it to my hard drive and can this get me banned? i seen you doing stuff but i didnt see anything that you had to go buy thats why your tutorial is better :P!

if you have a dell inspiron desktop then rather nor than buying a sata cable use the one on the disk drive and remove and connect into ur xbox 360 drive and then after u done just put it back in ur pc cd drive, btw the dell inspiron dont really have that many sata cables use the one the cd drive is plugged in to
yh i know, it was gonna b how to put it in "B Mode" but i decided 2 show that b4 i went to the computer, so just ignore it & continue with the vid instructions!!!

yes.. You have to. Once you get a flashed xbox to play ISO disks you put in the retail game, and while its loading, quickly swap out that game for the ISO Disk.
This will still work as long as you have the older xbox that hasnt connected to xbox live, i did this a few months ago.
Mine has philips lite-on do i have to do something different?

@Mattie Does the xbox have to be connected to the PC with the sata cable all the time or only when flashing it?

one question: when u connect ur xbox drive to pc with sata cable do uneed to plug ur xbox power cable into ur xbox or xbox starts through sata cable.

there is no need 2 detatch the one FROM ur dvd drive, only the end onto the motherboard of the XBox
hey mattie its me sticky. i think you missed out a bit at 6.29 to 6.32 because you didnt show what to do on your xbox at that time so what do you do?
@sicklegendz i dont see why not, aslong as the xbox could play the orginal one before the flash (not all xbox originals run on the 360).
question. I have a lite-on drive with my xbox 360 elite. Is that a big difference when your trying to flash it?
Once you flashed your Xbox, can you play your original (bought) Xbox games on your Xbox 360???
The sata plug on your laptop is probably eSata, which won't fit a regular sata plug. As for hurting your XBox, I would say there is a SLIM chance, but if you're uncomfortable with it, just don't try it.
hey mattie pls tell if your XBOX 360 is a ELITE version
there a image on the net of the three drive types with there disc trays open and name, so look for the one that looks like yours and thats what you have.
yes. yes you can and if you get black ops II now, you can play online right now, their servers came on about yesterday!
@TTGXenonvJtag it means that that program only works for a 64 bit system. to check if you have it then look how much ram you have. 3gb or lower = 32 bit 4gb or higher = 64 bit
It doesnt matter if the driver is "Phillips and lite-on Digital soulution corporation", right?

done my old rrod xbox cotton bud trick then xclamped it all up with heat gun was given it worked like a charm if people cant do it from this video try puttin right firmware in thanks buddy

If you do this can you only play burned games or you can play microsoft games too?
question - will a sata to usb work as another way of connecting it to the pc?
you can update the firmware whenever the new firmware is created
@MrPurpleraver if you mean play burnt copies of 360 games then yes. if you have a lite-on 7XXXX you will need a probe and ck3. for lite-on 8XXXX and 9XXXX you will need to solder. the first drive i flashed was a lite on 7XXXX
In case you have to take it apart again. If you are a serious modder, you will end up taking the casing apart a lot, it just becomes a hassle.
uhm after u flashed it u can put ur xbox together again right? in 1 piece?
quick noob question i have a laptop so i can't open it to connect the sata, would i need to buy an adapter? if so could you give me a link to buy one
did u eject the drive cut the power then push the tray half way then power it back on?? it needs to send the magic 28 keys
its on the bottom left it should say like fw verion: n it should say 74.... or 82..... or 94.... and depending which ever firmware version you have determines how you flash the drive
if you play with a flashed xbox 360 online (Not like unreleased games or anything just playing it with homemade games) will you be banned?

you have to open up your computer to see what hardware you do or dont you have to check if u have a compatible chipset if not your gonna have to buy a VIA pci sata controller card.

I didnt really follow. The "B"-mode was when you made all the things to prevent it from opening or closing the tray, right?
@sleeper0789 Drive, I take it you mean Disk drive in the xbox? Philips and Lite-on? Is there still a way to mod it so I can play burnt games from the computer?

@mario301277 yes, if you have another type of drive then look for a tut on it. if you dont have a benq then this will break your other drive
Does this work with more recent firmwares? And is the disc drive in that Xbox the stock drive or something else...?

@xJaxify did u spoof ur xbox's dvd drive, apparently its because i changed my drive from a hitachi to a benq

If you're asking which one the xbox plugs into, it's a VIA 6421
im only like 1 minute through and you already know what your doing once i get a job ill buy the arcade and see if i can flash one myself and you can play on live right cuz your description got me confuzed
Does this still work? Does it matter what dashboard version I am running to do this? Do I need a J Tag to play the burned games? Lastly obviously you can be console ban for playing BURNED games on live, but can they tell my console is flashed if I am playing a LEGITIMATE disc?
will this work with a "open tray" dvd drive? i dont have a multimeter to set the laser frequency right yet.
Hi man, i've got a small question about modding a 360.
I got my xbox360 modded years ago, but it stopped workig when i tried to update my console in order to play Assassins Creed Brotherhood.
I did some research and found out the AP 2.5 security update was applied due to the new update.
Now my questions is..
If i update with the latest firmware, will that fix the update problem and will allow me to play the latest games ?

so after i have flashed my xbox can i just put in my burnt 360 games and play them? i dont need a Jtag or any other additional software or modding?

i took my computer apart and it was 2 old it never had the ports in to plug the xbox wire into it unless i coudent find it i have like a school dell pc do you get the lil ports in them

I have the newer xbox. The slimmer one. Is the process and the firmware going to work for that one too?
When they ban u, do the ban u cause they find out u have a burnt disc or cause they just automaticaly figure out ur drive is flashed, Like if i played a real 360 game that i bought on the 360 would they be able to tell the drive is flashed?

when i get to the part that it tells me to choose driver i choose the portio that i hat to have a driver compatible with x64 windows... is it possible to do this on an x64 machin e?
the one he used was already in his xbox but yea... i would buy it on amazon as well... kinda hard to get that cable to reach in some computers
would his method of sending a drive into mode B work with a hitachi drive????

@halo422 as for getting my drive into vendor mode (b mode) the way mattie did it in this video did not work for me, instead i had to
1. open the disc drive
2. pull out (unplug) the disc drives power supply (the plug that goes directly to the mobo)
3. close it half way (like in the vid)
4. plug it back in and hold it until there is no resistance
link with your backgrounds? or what is that little box dude called?
I don't have the Phillips & BenQ Drive for the disc tray, mine is HL Data Storage and it says Hitachi-LG Data Storage when I flash mine do I need to do anything differently?

1. go on xboxlive to play COD online or something like that

it might not work well or work at all if you dont have a benq, it tells you your drive model on a sticker ontop of your dvd drive
no, u need 2 stay to ur region code...
PAL, NTSC, etc...
