    On my way back from Vancouver three weeks ago, I actually drove the truck/camper up Sunday Summit FSR to 5km, Hoping to have an awesome camping view spot, but the road was so slick after some rain that the voyage was aborted. I did stay at a really nice campground along the river just off Old Hedley Rd.(Upper Similkameen I.B. land) $15/night. 👍 Have a great weekend Juan. 😎🤙

    3:26. There is a wide shoulder pull out on the left. In 1967, after the Kelowna RCMP suggested we leave town or enjoy another night at their crowbar hotel, me and 2 friends ended up pulling off the highway at that spot and slept in the bushes. It was after a few adventures at the Kelowna Regatta which resulted in a free night's accommodation courtesy of the RCMP. We fired up the 61 Valiant and decided Mexico was the place to be. As we drove through Pentiction, my buddy Roger pulled a joint out of his shirt pocket. I was a cannabis virgin. After smoking the joint while driving, I found it a bit of a disorienting experience. BY around 11, when it was good and dark, I decided it was not a good idea to tackle the Hope Princeton. in my condition.and that pullout looked like a good place to stop for the night. We pulled out a ground sheet, sleeping bags and found a grassy flat spot to lie down in behind the bushes. It was a great night sleeping under the stars. Thanks for the memory. BTW, we never made it to Mexico.

    In the old days you put 1 cup of kero in the radiator and at the end of the day, drop the bottom water hose. Also Coca-Cola was another way.

    • @JuanRempel
      @JuanRempel  Před měsícem

      Wait...what? Instead of using coolant, you used water and kerosene and drained the water at the end of the day?

    • @Linda2
      @Linda2 Před měsícem +1

      No coolant back then. Yes, add one cup of kerosene to the radiator and empty at the end of the day. In the war times, dad said you'd start the car on petrol and then run on kerosene. Petrol was in short supply. I don't think modern engines would take kindly to that.

    Dude on one of those 30 corners I saw a car in the ditch with another one upside down on top of the first one lol.
    You probably remember that these corners used to be even worse and the bridges weren't curved they were straight so you had to come around the corner then vector into the bridge like how you pull into a fuel island people smoked the side of the bridge with the front of their trailers all the time.

      He fell off his trailer while wearing safety glasses (he was loading at a place that required them), he fell face first, the safety glasses had nowhere to go besides into face, which resulted cutting open his head and being able to see his skull..I think we ended up in the ER and getting 4 stitches or so?
