  • In Episode 1 of our 2-part series with Wales international, John Hartson, the big man talks us through the ups and downs of his career down south prior to his move to Celtic.
A man who broke many a transfer record, he talks Si through starting out at Luton which led to his big move to Arsenal where he tells us all about playing with big characters like Ian Wright, Tony Adams and Martin Keown as well as learning under George Graham and Arsene Wenger.
He then talks about his highs and lows with West Ham where he finished 2nd top goalscorer in England but had his time slightly marred by a training ground scrap with Eyal Berkovic which John talks about openly.
On top of that, there are some great tales about his time with the Crazy Gang at Wimbledon and also at Coventry before getting into the details of his move to Celtic and his early days there, which of course arrived after a failed medical with arch-rivals Rangers.

Just when you think it couldn’t get any better up jumps big bad John. An absolutely outstanding player for Celtic and worth his weight in gold. To this day am convinced that had it not been for a back injury and he had played in the UEFA final 2003 Celtic would have won that game. Well done to si ferry again for bringing us this superb interview with John Hartson
