Who in the world says we have declining employment and rising inflation? This is the most inexpert assessment of what we are experiencing: There are still 8 million of job openings. The annual inflation rate is 3.4% whereas the same rate for the past 49 years has been 3.6% on the average since 1975 !
But it is the profligate spending of the Biden's administration, financed by printing money that is the problem, which brings the inflation pressure to be seen likely very soon unless dealt with: On "green energy," infrastructure and military spending (that one is necessary in today's world). We did not need Jamie Damon to tell us this two days ago.
It is the Nobel Laureate Milton Friedman who explained a long time ago that as more money is servicing the same amount of production expressed as GDP, the value of the money has to decline so the money gets into a new equilibrium with the production - hence inflation.
What more money? The money supply increased in the one so distant 23-months period by the astronomical 40% from 15 trillion to 21 trillion !

The inflation rate is staggering for sure. How can the lower classes hope to even buy simple commodities and necessities

Whenever posted this video needs to take it down because it’s the dumbest thing I’ve watched all year.
Whoever came up with this as a reason for stagflation probably doesn’t even know women weren’t allowed to have credit cards in their name until 1974 lol
CONSUMER SPENDING drives inflation. Equal pay laws, the extension of credit to women, as well as a high personal savings rate contributed to stagflation and absolutely none of these are present in current times.
