1) Trouba's decline is grossly over-exaggerated.
Trouba was on the ice for only one goal against, in games 5 & 6: against the Panthers. That was not the back breaking goal against.
Go watch the videos of the Panthers goals, in games 5 & 6.
Pay attention to who was on the ice, and how those back breaking goals were scored.
In particular, the Forsling goal was an absolute train wreck mental breakdown ( paralysis), with three Rangers stacked across their own blueline. No, Trouba was not on the ice.
On another Panther goal: watch what Miller did on one of those back breaker goals.
You will get much a better, big picture perspective.

Yes, Trouba was playing injured, on a bad ankle. As was Fox ( with the knee).
Fox, Milller, Lindgren and Trouba all made some bad decisions and mistakes.
Realistically, Fox, Lindgren and Miller's mistakes were brutally awful.
That was in their heads, as well. But no one is losing their minds and hatefully obsessing over it.
2) Watch how many of the forwards played, on those Panthers goals.
