  • Why Tadej Pogačar's BORING DOMINANCE Could Be OVER Soon
Without a doubt, Tadej Pogačar is currently the most dominant rider in the world of cycling, and there hasn’t been anyone like him for quite some time. He’s a risk taker, a natural-born entertainer and a rider who gets people glued to their screens whenever he races. But his domination has come to a point where many are starting to say cycling has become boring, due to the lack of competition for Pogačar. He’s winning pretty much any race he desires and, most of the time, truly can’t be stopped. But such control over the peloton is nothing new, and here’s why his dominance could soon come to an end, and we should enjoy it while we still can.

Mr. Watts, you have pointed out some correct points and facts about this topic, I like your views, well done. As I've said before on other CZcams channels with this same topic. The people complaining about cycling being boring; these people are cry babies and are obviously jealous and don't appreciate great talent. I agree with Mr. Watts that there has been many fantastic riders in the past and I'm sure many people didn't agree with those great riders. So I ignore these cry babies (except for writing this comment) If they find cycling boring then don't watch it. Maybe these people that think this are not pure cycling fans, they carry hate in them, they don't understand the sport. Enuf Said.

What is boring is to spare your bullets and look at the power meter the whole time like Sky did back in the days. Pogacar is racing like there is no tomorrow and that’s what the fans like.

I am an unconditional fan of Pogacar. I just hope that for the Tour, he will have more competition. This year's Giro was probably the one I've followed the least compared to others. From the first day, it was obvious that only if something happened to him, like getting sick or crashing, he would win easily. And for the show, that is, of course, boring. In every sport, when there is someone who wins all the time, and wins easily, we lose the fun of watching sports-the adrenaline, the furious competition to be first, etc. Without that, what is the point?

Oh, please. Wiggins, Froome and Armstrong were considered "boring" because of their singular focus on the TdF. Froome and Armstrong pretty much sucked outside of July (and it wasn't just a "gust of wind" that changed Froome's future, it was the fact that he was foolishly messing around with his kit when that happened). Pogacar is quite possibly the greatest talent of all time. Witnessing such rare greatness should never be boring-and it isn't. I'm reminds me of when people use to whine about Cavendish and his crushing sprint dominance with Columbia/HTC-Highroad. Anyone who can't recognize history in the making probably needs to find another sport to watch. Every, single time Tadej Pogacar throws his leg over a bike it's exciting. Because it's Tadej Pogacar.

Pogacar is riding to the best of his considerable ability against the competition that shows up to race.
He is a genetic anomaly similar to Messi, Bolt or Phelps, and under normal circumstances, like them, he will win whatever race he will target.
But he also has a super team, and pays attention to ALL the details of rest, recovery, nutrition, tactics and most importantly for the social media age... Public Relations...
His gifts to his supporters on the road and to his fellow competitor are strokes of genius that seem to reflect his sunny personality.
He is not the Armstrong doping sociopath, the addicted Pantani, the soulless Froome/Wiggins tramadol/salbutamol/jiffy bag user and hopefully won't have Contador's suspension history.
The man wins with panache and humanity, and no one seemed to think he was doping when he got his ass whooped fair and square in 2022 and 2023...
Of course you never know, but I enjoy seeing history being written!
    Go Pogi!!

The Giro without Pogacar would have been a lot more BORING!
Only GC guy doing anything really. Never even trying to put pressure on Pogacar.

Yeah most of the Giro is boring this year but i still love ALL of the riders. I want every race to be unpredictable until the last second but that isn't how the world works.

i think it is not his dominance that brings boredom but yes i miss vingegaard there for the ultimate battle.

I can’t understand people who complain about cycling becoming too boring because of Pogacar. Yes at this Giro he blew away the field and was very dominant. Of course that meant less tension for the GC win but his riding was spectacular and entertaining. Also it’s not like it was extremely normal that Pogi always dominates in that fashion. In the last two years at that tour he didn’t even win and Jonas and he created some of the most entertaining stages ever in the tour. In the Monuments Pogi also rides in spectacular fashion, but he has still enough competition in VDP or Wout

Not even Nairo 'Tramadol' Quintana, doped to the gills, and climbing faster than he ever did, could beat 'alien' Pogacar.

I like Pogacar as a human being, he truly seems like a friendly, fun, down to earth guy. That being said, I really don't like Team UAE and I would really like for a tour like Il Giro to be more entertaining than it was this year. I don't find monstrous dominations entertaining and I don't think it helps the sport (any sport). Unfortunately, only Vuelta sounds like it'll be more fun, because of the Olympics.

Why do previous riders who have been found guilty of doping, highly suspected of doping or gaming the TUE system continually be used as comparisons for current riders? Shouldn't cycling journalists look to distance comparisons to these riders.

i think, Pogi can do what vr46 did..he's not really leading the race for too long, but winning by tiny bit at the end for audience excitement. what people said about boring maybe because 30mnts to 40 mnts before the race was over, we knew that he would won the stage..it become boring..bottomline i think people love to see a fight and not dominance, in any sport..just my 2cents..
