Here's why the drummer doesn't do anything in many of the fills:
You get more points if Guitar, Bass, and Drums all use their overdrive at the same time. ALSO, it is sometimes better to not activate your overdrive immediately: you get more points sometimes by waiting to activate later.
This is how the drummer communicates to the guitarist and the bassist whether he is going to activate there or not. By doing this the guitarist and the bassist know whether or not to use their overdrive.
If the drummer plays notes during a fill, the drummer is saying "let's use our overdrive here." If the drummer does nothing during a fill, the drummer is saying "let's wait and use our overdrive later."
It's interesting, but useful! And I'm the guitarist in this video, so you can trust what I'm saying.

See, I'd give this a 4 or 5, but not the 6/5 rating it has. I'd say there's, like, one part that you're likely to fail on in the guitar chart (6:43), and it's short enough to just save up your star power* for. Meanwhile, drums have a much longer part that gets kind of hard to keep up with toward the end (7:34), and that's only 3/5.
*yes, I know it's called overdrive / energy in the RB series, and I do _not_ care

Ah. The only role in this one where i'd be able to handle expert difficulty is the vocalist, i'd be more all over the place than the Black Star Dragon Balls if i attempted that solo as one of the other three
Lol yeah. Even the vocals are harder than you think. You have to be ON POINT to FC on vocals. I went into vocals underestimating the difficulty. Needless to say, I didn't do very well.
I understand the guitar solo being extremely difficult on Expert, Free Bird is the last main encore of Guitar Hero II and on MEDIUM that solo kicked my butt so badly i had to have made at least seventeen trips to multiple video game worlds with how many notes i kept missing

In older Guitar Heroes it would auto set the singer char for a girl/boy depending on the song

So you can make a girl sing heavy metal and a guy sing fucking pink fluffy unicorn if you have the balls to download it

U get the most points if everyone has their star power going so not doing anything in the fill signifies “don’t use ur star power yet” and when he does do something that saying “ok let’s use our star power here” it’s just a way for the whole band to communicate.
I don't blame the drummer for stopping. I just wish the game didn't throw those sections in because I feel like those fill sections break the flow, at least for the drums. Maybe not for the drummer, but as a listener, it's extremely jarring.

This was okay but im not even 3 minutes into this and I can barely watch. The drummer not doing anything for like 90% of the drum fills then plays nothing but the snare when one pops and they choose to play it up really ruins it.
