    Thanks for the review. This wing just makes sense, one key point you forgot to mentioned is that Elliptical wings produce the least mount of induced drag out of any plan form.

    Hey Dom! Been watching a tonne of your videos!
    Currently wake foiling with png 1150, we pump back to the 15-20 roller and cruise and line up to grab other boat waves. Also cut the boat to cruise the rollers after boat stops.
    Looking for a foil that is more playful on the boat rollers, would you recommend the spitfire or ART? Also what size with fuse and rear wing?
    Thanks in advance!

    Thanks Dominic for the detailed explanations. I'm a 90kg wing foiler on a 95lt board. I feel comfortable with foot switches, jibes and tacks. For our predominantly flat sweetwater light wind conditions I use either an Art pro 1201 with advance ultrashort black fuse and 360 skinny stab or - if it's really poor - a PNG 1310 with advance ultrashort red fuse and 460 stab. For the upcomming winter storms I thought about completing my quiver with a smaller spitfire front wing. Thought about 900 or 960 on a advance crasyshort fuse using the 360 skinny stab I already have. Good idea?

    Hi Dominic, I’ve been following you now since quite a few months, your reviews are simply amazing! In one of your posts you mentioned that you favorite wakefoil was the Kujira 1440 with a KDmaui tail or a Kujira 1210. As i have a boat similar to the one you had in Oman (?) i am curious to see which foil is now your favorite in 2023 to wakefoil behind such a boat. And which Spitfare model would you recommend similar to the Kujira 1210 or 1440? Thanks a lot

    • @dominichoskyns9091
      @dominichoskyns9091  Před rokem +1

      Thanks for such kind feedback. You’ve probably guessed that the spitfires are what I’d recommend. They have such a huge take and are definitely the most versatile folks I’ve ever used. An improvement even on the kujiras!
      The 1100 and 960 would probably be the closest for with the 1440 and 1210, with the 840 being closest to the 980.

      It’s amazing! I’ve used FDA+ with all the spitfire’s and they work great. I have surfed and DW with them all down to the 900, which I even use occasionally for flat water pumping. The 960 is such a good foil and works great with Fd for everything

      *edit* I was thinking the 960 with black ultra short and 350 pro with foil drive efoil mode. I’m located inland in the Pacific Northwest away from waves and mostly ride flatwater. That said, would the 960 be to fast of a foil for foil drive? I currently use the 910 png which is so freakin fun!!
      Thanks again for your advise 🤙

    • @dominichoskyns9091
      @dominichoskyns9091  Před rokem

      @@RCKahuna150 the 960 is great with foildrive. It is a bit faster than the 910 but has a much more surfy feel to it. It pumps well but it’s maybe a bit more technical to pump. I think the 960 maybe has a slightly better range than the 910, but it’s hard to separate them as they are both such good foils. I would say the 960 is a slight step up in performance

    Thanks for this very thorough video, great explanation. I have an HPS 980 as my low-mid wind go to. I’d like to swap it for a spitfire to get more glide with a similar low end. What size would you recommend ? Thinking if the one that has 1200cm2.

    • @dominichoskyns9091
      @dominichoskyns9091  Před rokem

      Either the 1030 or the 960. Unfortunately none of the spitfires can be swapped size for size with the hps as there is so much overlap. The 1030 will have a better low end than the 980 and nearly as good high end. The 960 will have a better high end than the 980 but not such a god low end

    Hi Dominic, thanks for all your videos.
    I'm looking for advice for my next dockstart wing. I am a rider of 1.87 m and 82 kg (and 57 years old...). I have been doing dockstart for a year with my PNG 1150, advanced short fuselage and 375 prog,
    and 90% successful departures.
    I tried with my ArtPro 1201 with around fifteen successful starts but a lot of failures.
    So I'm looking for an intermediate wing with more glide and speed.
    I love my Spitfire 900 for wingfoiling and would be interested in the Spitfire 1100 for dockstart if and maybe winging.
    Have you already tried the 1100 as a dockstart wing? or other ideas from Axis range of course!
    Many thanks

    • @dominichoskyns9091
      @dominichoskyns9091  Před 11 měsíci

      Hi there. The spitfire 1100 is maybe a little bit easier to dock start than the 1201 but not by much. The 1300 is a great alternative to the 1150 because it is a bit faster and has better glide abs is still very easy to dock start. I find that any faster foil will always be harder to dock start so I just have to put up with a lower success rate. TBH I mostly use FoilDrive these days because I can get on foil and pump around with MUCH smaller foils than I can dock start with

    How do the SPT handle turbulent water conditions as compared to the ART, which I find are very reactive when the water gets messy.

    Hi Dom.
    I am kite foiling and this is my current setup: Duotone Mono 7m2, Duotone Pace 4'6'', Axis Power Carbon mast 90cm, Black Series Short Fuselage, HPS 650 at the front, and Progressive 375 at the rear. My idea is to switch to Spitfire 780 at the front and Skinny 360 at rear - any thoughts/advice you can give me? I am not an expert, just started making gybes, occasionally do some pumping ... but I feel I need more lift but would like to keep the speed of the HPS. I would appreciate your feedback. Thanks!

    Hey Dom. Thanks for the great reviews. I'm currently riding the HPS 930 and 1050 and have progressed well with them (75% success rate on jibes and riding 2-4" swell. I also had the art 999 and 1099 but found them not great for my skill level and local condions.
    I don't see much downside to switching to the SP foils to gain some more speed and glide. I'm 80kg on a froth 95, ultrashort fuse. What are your thoughts on two foils to switch to. I can ride my two hps from 10 - 30 knotts. Thanks.

    • @dominichoskyns9091
      @dominichoskyns9091  Před rokem +1

      The spitfires are definitely a performance upgrade over the HPS and I think you’ll find them more user friendly than the ARTs. The safe choice would be the 1100 and 960, but if you want you could go with the 1100 and 900. That would be a big jump but the 900 has such a big range I think it’s ok, especially if you want to increase your range at the top end

    Hi. Great video thanks. I use a 999 for winging at about 85kg. How would you compare a PNG 910B vs a Spitfire which would have similar low end as the 910B? I was thinking of buying a 910 but not sure now that the Spitfire has been released. Thanks. PS: Or is there a HPS wing you would also recommend to compliment my 999 for lighter winds? I am proficient with all types of tacks, gybes, foot switches etc and ride in a bay with bay swells on the stronger days.

    • @dominichoskyns9091
      @dominichoskyns9091  Před rokem

      The spitfire 960 is a good replacement for the 910b. Good low end but a bit faster and much more surfy.
      The HPS 1050 is a good light wind foil that would compliment the 999, but then you would have very different styles of foils in your quiver. I would say the spitfire 1100 is also an excellent foil to compliment the 999 and it would then be the same style as the 960

      Yes with FD for prone foiling and downwinding but also for winging and wake foiling without FD.
      My favourite setup for prone foiling with FD is the Axis pump 4’6” 37ltr. For downwinding with FD I now prefer a slightly larger board, around 4’10-5’ x 45ltrs. I’m even using a 5’ x 19” x 55ltr DW style board atm to test the pros and cons of the extra volume.
      I mostly use the advance ultrashort fuse and skinny rears for DW and advance crazyshort and p300 for surfing.
      Always use the 82cm mast for everything except for winging in choppy water or big swell when I prefer the 90cm mast

    • @dominichoskyns9091
      @dominichoskyns9091  Před rokem

      Immediately apply back foot pressure real quick but use your front foot to keep the board fairly flat to the water. The back foot pressure reengages the foil and the front foot pressure prevents the foil from having an angle of attack that would stall your speed. You need to keep your speed up to get through the breach
