Most builders totally suck, and cant even add fractions, so pay attention and stop building crappy houses with un-skilled labor.

Imperial unit dimensioning is a MAJOR pain in the A$$. At least in architecture, it could be in metric units.. dimensioning everything in millimeters would made life SOOO much more clear

Hey Bill. Why not go to the center of the walls instead of the plan east and plan north?

Thank you for the detailed explanation. Regarding the dimension of walls drawn on the 1/4" = 1'0" dwg, do you not include the dimension of the gypsum board then? For example, you suggest just drawing it as 3.5" for a 2x4 wall with 1/2" gypsum on each side instead of drawing it as a 4.5" wall. Thanks!

That's a bad idea. Draw everything actual size. Just dimension to the studs.

@@urstudio383 tell me how you are going to get the dimensions to go to a stud face when there is no stud face

I believe what he's trying to say is that you only draw the wood studs because when they are constructing in the field you don't want the guys having to subtract for the gyp board. So don't even show it. That process is called Structure to Structure". If it was studs and gyp board it is called Finish to Finish

Can you make the *.pdf / *.dwgs available? Would be nice to see these examples directly in CAD on my own screen!
