My goodness Brandon Miller did some work on that 3rd leg for A&M
Brandon miller been a bad man since aau that’s that Texas blood in him way ahead of his age then and now Texas a&m is looking fierce
he won them the race
He's a freakin monster at 400 and 800
The anchor for Georgia made a great comeback to win for his school.
It wasn't a win. But yeah he kicked butt.
As a former Track&Field sprinter and coach, I've noticed that Matthew Boling has "tension" issues while maintaining his "top end speed."
In some cases, he's more relaxed as a transitional runner, but performs with "anxiety" when other sprinters are challenging him.
I agree. He did well when out in front in his heat in the 60m and when in the outside lane in the 200m heat while not having a target ahead of him. He had the top time for the final 200m and should have picked lane six and not five. He would not have had as tight a turn which would have helped his long stride.
His final in the 60m was bogus because he and another runner both thought that bell going off twice meant a false start and stopped running. The officials decided not to declare a false start or re-run the race.
Boling has all sorts of problems going on and nothing is getting fixed. He essentially is the same athlete he was in high school. Needs new coaching.
Yep. Too much strain and no relaxation. His head is rocking back and forth which also wastes energy. Form is breaking down at the end of races.
He has more anxiety in the short end sprints, the pressure is higher for him. In the 400M he seems more comfortable like he knows exactly what he's doing. His power level is increasing in the short sprints though with his 6.55, that's a huge break thru for him. Many of us had him pegged as a top end speed guy who might never get under 6.60.
@AM It's very possible he's injured. 46.x split ( close to 47 ) when he had been 45.5 or better all year long actually all of his college career. We felt that "wobble" when he tried to correct himself on the 200M turn might have been something.
Godwin's a real relay stud. But not so consistent in the open.
Some run better on relays

Elijah has the heart of a lion 🦁
He steps up strong for his team! Every time.
The NCAAs should be a 3-day meet with the 4x400s on day 3. With all the talent out there on the track, the 4x400s were personally disappointing. These guys are TIRED! Let them come back on day 3 and put on a show. Florida and Iowa had 3 runners each in the 400m finals, plus Ross. Fresh, there are about 4-5 teams capable of sub-3:03.
I agree.
I mostly agree but it would take away from the 'last race of the meet' type feel. It would be weird for these guys to run their 400s, do their interviews, then go to bed, and then run the 4x4.
Very good suggestion! I agree.
I agree
@AM agreed.
Good run by Stokes, he had a big job to do and he really did his best.
The leadoff was Markveous Jackson the prized frosh everyone was talking about. He has a lot of work to do as a 400m guy
@@dwightlove3704 Yep. Duane Ross is gonna have to go back to the drawing board. Without Stewart and Eli Young not in top shape right now, and especially with Markevus Jackson not doing as well as they must have hoped, it's not looking good for A&T. I hope they bounce back though.
@@timmytheinventor4746 Young was the 3rd leg at the beginning of the season.Jackson was not ready for the big stage.Iowa snatched a guy Jenoah McKiver from North Carolina right under the nose of Ross.Ross needs to keep a eye on the talent in his backyard.
@@timmytheinventor4746 What were the splits for A&T
@AM Thanks
There are so many options Boling has that would benefit him way more than what he's currently doing. Either he switches to the decathlon, throws away some events, turns pro, or switches coaches.
Coach Eldrick Floreal has the program building formula on lock. He did it at Stanford, then ar Kentucky. and now he has elevated Texas back as a top contender. He was so close to sweeping both Indoorcrowns! And he did it with middle distance personnel.
I was a little salty when they didn't give the head spot to Buford-Bailey, but you can't argue with the results in his third year! The Longhorn football team may not be ready to join the SEC, but track and field will definitely be prepared. I can't wait to see him go head-to- head again with Bucknam, Holloway. Henry, Shaver, and Smith-Gilbert
I thought i was the only one salty about Tonja not getting offered that head coaching position. But Floreal and hit team of coaches just showed their prowess as a premier program all the wats around. Texas put it together when it counted and i cant wait to see what they outdoors
Godwin sure can run an relay but in the open, it’s a different story..
He can run in the open, he's just not consistent. 45.37 is fast and would have got him second in today's competition.

What a terrible anchor leg for Florida! He ran his anchor leg like an elementary school runner on a grassy field! He totally wasted the great effort of the three previous legs. His teammates deserved way better.

He has a lot of work to do but I’m rooting for him. Hopefully he learns from this experience
@@jimdeez8871 I will be watching for him outdoors.
The way Florida's anchor was breathing was quite a site, like...are you okay Sir? My gosh the facial expressions were crazy.
Why were the 4x400 times down so much from the SEC's? I thought Texas A&M was a "slow track" with turns too tight? But the relay teams ran 2-3 seconds faster there... I could see the track for the NCAA didn't have alot of banking.
@AM The "banks" looked almost flat. With a higher bank you can run faster in a turn even with a short radius. What was crazy was A&M did a 3:04 on their own track, which is not known to be "fast", but also did a 3:04 for the NCAA. Florida and Georgia both hit 3:02.5's on that day when A&M ran the 3:04. Coming into the meet with the 3-3:03 times, the several 3:04's, some of us figured someone would be in the 3:01's or so.
What team won?
This was not the original lineup for A&T why the change????
Stokes really put A&T back in the race since . 3rd leg fell off. I blame him. He did not give Randolph a chance
it was really the first leg that messed them up and he had the slowest split
@@Odawgfrm310 Learn track please, and do the math. Stop pointing figures....

Georgia isn't a good place for Boling to be the best version of himself. It's a shame to see. There were a lot better options and coaches for him to work with.

400 is a mans sprint!
Why wouldn’t you rub your best runners, it’s the final event of the meet, the team title is decided, but let the kids take the relay title….. I mean unless a kid is injured, let them run.
Matt looks absolutely awful. He can’t take on a huge work load and then half-butt every race. He needs to focus on fewer events. He looks poorly conditioned. Way too tired. He can’t carry an entire program. He needs to focus on himself.
I really don't know why he picked UGA with other schools like Florida, LSU, A&M, Arkansas, Texas Tech or even Houston having better sprint programs.
I’m calling my attorney on the gators anchor. That was an illegal performance.
And why is everyone trying to switch Matt to the 4 the guy is young and has ran 20pt flat what the fuck lmfaoo he’s a sprinter he just needs a program that won’t run him into the dirt before he can reach his potential
Because to be fair, his best performances were in the 200m and 400m
1. Indoor track does not run the 200m professionally. so the 200m is not going to be a money maker professionally for Boling.
2. Boling is still learning the mechanics of sprinting. His start still needs work and he panics and loses his form when he presses, This is the second time that he has been DQ'ed in a 200m championship race (2021 SEC Indoors).
3. I believe the new coach will get him there . Smith -Gilbert's track record at UCF and USC is great (See TT Terry, Anna Cockrell, Michael Norman collegiately, and Rai Benjamin). It will take some time to get him on track and progressing. Although, I still think he should have stayed home at UH with Burrell and Lewis, Smith -Gilbert is a great coach.
@@wonDER1973 he can run faster outdoors if he isn’t burned out by the program

Matt Boling was struggling. Dude is beat down from all those events.
Georgia’s hand offs are terrible.
I was like finally someone called it, especially 2nd to 3rd leg. FFS
Boling needs a long 'rest'.
Boling needs to drop the 2 and switch to the 4. To much talent to waste on events he's out classed in with the bigs. He could be special in the longer distance.
Nah, the 200 is his sweet spot. He was just tired and his large stride can be a problem in the indoor 200, especially with the way he comes off of tight turns.
@@timmytheinventor4746 Nah he’s got more natural talent in the 400M imo, plus for the US it has the least competition out of all the sprints, and he could’ve made an Olympic team for the mixed relay in Tokyo had he purely focused on the 400M in 2021, he should drop the 60 & the 100M outdoors, and maybe even the 200M (outdoors but still run it indoors with the relay).
He started as a 400m runner but his 200 time in the prelims was the fastest of all the athletes. I think he could do the 200/400 like MJ but this is a hard combo. I don't think he should stay in the 100 because his start is not that good and he is a great turn runner.
@@WorldLeader12345 I think he should just run the 100, 200, 4x1 and 4x4 outdoors at NCAAs, then compete in the 400 at USAs. He's still competing in a collegiate team so he's got to rack up points when he can to win the team title. This year it didn't work well though. If he does this quadruple, it's approximately 1600m, which really is a lot. He'll have almost two weeks to recover and get his 400 training up to scratch to run at Nationals. He's just gotta get under 44.90 I believe, which is doable for him. I say he doesn't do the LJ at all. He's a talented jumper, but he's been working on his technique for a while and isn't translating his speed to the board too well.
