This Recruitment luck feels unfair in Arknights

    As for summoners and their "non-efficiency", i though that too when i started, but i recommend watching some vids with Deepcolor/Scene, as an example
    Summons are surprisingly tanky and strong, and a lot of "optimized" runs just replace most of melee units with summons. Plus, if you just want to stall - you effectively have 5-7 replacable units instead of 1 operator.
    Magallan is unique coz her drones do specific jobs instead of replacing melee units.

      I suppose I do understand one tanky summon, like Kal'tsit. But I really don't get Mayer. I know her S3 are supposed to make your operators unhitable. But that's way too much investment before payoff.

      ​@@FeyHuntI think you mistaken the unit lol. Mayer only a 5* character, so no s3. You probably meant Ling. She the one that has s3 that make her summon has super buff stats (4 block, 7k HP, 1300 atk) at the cost of 2 deployment slot. Basically make the summon more tanky than some defender while having atk stats of a guard. And that's didn't count during the skill activation btw, that's just the passif effect of the skill.

      Oh, I do watched Kyostinv showcase using Ling to beat the boss in Chongyue event. So I know her summons are insane.
      I think I was refering to Mayer S2 or S1 which has the ascension to make surrounding operator around her Meeboo gain arts dodge or something.

    Aak is famous coz he's the only operator in the game who can kill his teammates, but that's coz his abilities worth it
    His S3 gives units rare +aspd buff (which is usually better than straight +atk), and his S2 designed to make tanky operators more tanky. For instance, your defender is holding boss; you killed the boss --> he turns into phase 2 --> gets buffed --> destroyes your defender; well, Aak can just buff your defender to counter it, etc etc
    To prevent abusing him with top-dps operators (who are fragile) he deals dmg, but that too can be bypassed by buffing these ops' defences if needed, or making them immortal (Silence Alter) : )

      Hmmm... Now that gives me an idea... I don't have any attack speed buff so far. Maybe worth it to pick him up next time.

    I had 3 top operator tags within 2 weeks this month. within that time and +/- a couple days the friend group I primarily talk about AK with got 5 top op tags amongst 4 people.
    That all in ~3 weeks while generally it can be months before one happens to get one... And then this video. I feel like they may have temporarily messed up with the odds after the pool update lol

      I mean, I'm not complaining for that bonus luck. Coz we all can use the yellow certs. I'm just hoping it could be more... even to all Doctors.

    RNG with no pity be RNG with no pity. sometimes you don't see anything for 6 months to a year or more, sometimes you get top every 2 weeks for 6 months.

      Exactly. And so far, we don't even know the exact rate of the tags. We can only infer what is rare than most.
      If I could point out a good suggestion, I think adding a pity counter here would be good for new players and veteran players alike.

    that's not correct; you already have Haze (insane burst dps), Click (burst dps + stun) and Indigo (dps+CC)
    maxed 4* casters are very strong; don't get fooled
    Indigo was my only E2 caster for first 7 months of play, and i only wished i had two of her xD

      Huh, do they scale with Amiya though? Amiya's DPS over her ridiculous DP regen is already so strong. Can they match those?
      Coz my problem right now is with EX bosses. I barely beat EX Sui-Xiang in the last event which is just a pure DPS check with a timer.

      ​@@FeyHunt "comparative scale" is not exactly how arknights lives; i'd think more of it as "jobs" and how much better OP gets when he's maxed out
      If you want specifically boss-dps caster, then Ceobe/Haze/Amiya S3 are good. Click and Indigo are are better vs elites and general CC
      Amiya does have great regen at E2, but she needs to be deployed early and hit enemies to charge her skill for S3/S2, and her S1 gives her +aspd (which makes her excellent target for buffing, but not exactly boss-dps skill by itself).
      Meanwhile Haze, for example, buffs both aspd/atk, and she also reduces RES of enemy (which buffs other arts users)
      I'm not underplaying Amiya, i'm just saying that stat-wise, maxed 4* 5* and 6* have almost the same base stats; it's their M3 scaling + module that would make real difference

      @@godo2712 I see. I will take that into consideration to level them up next time. Right now, I'm focusing on E2 Surtr, which people say is so overpowered that the whole game has to be balanced around her.

      i think game balanced somewhere around 5 star characters; tho devs clearly throw in challenges that would prevent abuse of specific meta units from time to time. Then again, i'm usually going 4* with couple of 5* and 6* mixed in - and it works fine
      Btw, what's your long-term goal? If instead of borrowing meta units, you wanna first build your own "easy win" squad - what next? Are you gonna start building non-meta units and gradually switch to lower-case units? Or do you plan something else?

      Right now I'm still struggling with EX bosses and Challenge Mode, even when I go all in with my insane lineup (Schwarz, Texalter, Surtr, etc) so I'm still building towards a better team. Especially since I haven't even started roguelike yet.
      But after that, I want to get into meme lineup, like Conviction team.

    No exaggeration I had 3 Top Operator tags in 24 hours when I 1st started Arknights. 2 of which at the same time. This was about 2 years ago, it would've either been May or June because I can see that it fell between Bison and Ambriel (aka 5/27 and 6/30).
    The 1st one was at night and I pulled Ifrit from it. Then I setup 3 recruits to run overnight and in the morning when I collected those I had 2 more Top Operators and I got Shining and Siege from those.
    Enjoy it while you can but don't get too excited about recruiting though because it's just super random. This year I've only had 3 Top Operators in total, so I'm averaging 1 every 3 months. The smart way to think about recruiting is as a source of yellow certificates for buying 6* from the store. From that perspective you will always be motivated to do it regardless if you get 6* from it or not and when you do get 6* then even better.
    Note that the rate you get yellow certs from recruiting is proportionate to how many max potential operators you have. It will not take long at all for all of your 4* to get max potential but the 5* take a long time to start hitting max potential (unless you whale).
    On average you get approximately 14.75 green certs and .25 yellow certificate per recruit starting when your 4* are max potential. Plus you do approximately 125-150 recruits per month if you prioritize buying every recruit permit you encounter. It's variable because of the friend credit store.

      Heck yeah! That's awesome! Should've probably captured that for flex. Definitely there's some new player buff there somehow.
      I'm very close to 180 yellow certs right now, but I think I'll save it for other operators. I already have Schwarz.

      Yes, definitely save it for the operators you are missing.
      I'm at a place now where I'm only buying the 6* a few times a year and the rest of my yellow certs can be dedicated to buying Headhunting Vouchers.
      As an example the next 6* I'm missing is Horn who is still a ways from appearing in the store. So if I don't get her before then I'll buy her when she debuts.

      That's gonna be a long wait for us though. 280 certs for 23 free pull if memory serves.
      I do want to get Kal'tsit, but it seems I missed my window of opportunity last time.

      It goes 1>2>5>10>20 pulls
      And the cost goes 10>9>8>7>6 per pull.
      Or 10>18>40>70>120
      Total is 38 pulls for 258 certs.
      About 6.8 certs per pull.
      1 thing to keep in mind is that when you use those pulls, you're getting yellow certs back. Again, depending on how old your account is but also how you approach pulling. For a veteran chasing a 6*, you can average over 1.5 yellow certs per pull (on average). Which is pretty significant.
      For this reason, you can sort of think of it as only costing 200 ish certs for the pulls, give or take 10 certs depending on how you spend them.

      @@FeyHunt It's far better to use the gamepress recruit tool. It'll tell you exactly what operators you can get, given the tags that you have.
