One important correction to this video: The violinist at 5:11, Marta, only had 24 HOURS to prepare and deliver this piece because Fiverr checked the âextra fast deliveryâ option and it slipped past me and my production team that she was required to do this. It was a miscommunication and I apologize for it. Marta wouldâve sounded even better had she gotten a fair shake at this challenge! đđ»
still played amazing even with the set back haha
She did SO good. Only 24 HOURS!
Youâre so cool for even bringing this up! Props to you Rob đđœ
@@sprickenville Yep, "God save the Queen" is the royal anthem
Hat's off to her!!
Hi Guys, Luisana here from the first videođ, wow I'm speechless right now to be feautured in this video, thank you so much Rob for the opportunity. It was a bit of a challenge for me but I did my best†and congrats to all my fellow violinists who played this as well, you all did an amazing jobđ Bravođ
You did an amazing job. The fact you had only 2 days to practice and record it make it even more epic.
@@MiguelVargas Couldn't do it without you!! We are the best team everđ„°
You were amazing!!!
Thanks for doing this! I was seriously impressed with you!
@@RobLandes Yo Rob can you play the new Attack on Titan opening in one your next videos?
That first girl was worth way beyond 23$, she doesn't know her value at all. If you're watching this video, lady, increase your prices!
Or maybe she doesn't care about the moneyđ€š
Or maybe 5 dollars in venezuela is a lot of money to ask
Probably not with where she lives... She has to balance out the extra number of jobs she gets at a low price with the fewer jobs at a higher price. She is probably doing that full time and getting more money doing more lower paid jobs.
@@DwynMary true, the minimum wage in venezuela is $0.80 so you're right.
Offer and demand. It's not a Walmart. She is from Venezuela, people are literally starving there. I completely agree with you that she deserves way more money but it's up to people to hire her. I hope people do that.
I liked the First Lady who was the cheapest. I enjoyed her music and loved the smile she gave at the end when she was done with this piece!
The unbelievable quality of the concert violinist is remarkable. It's one of these proofs that these guys have worked hard and perfected their craft which is why they are at the pinnacle of the profession.
Rob, I'm so glad to see myself in your video! Thanks for the interesting work! I'm happy to be a part of your project âșïž

You are so good!!!
That was honestly amazing!!!!
I was going to say you were the best of them, but my crush on you makes me unfit for a fair judgement. đčđ»

The performer who did not show their face was simply incredible! I think, in my personal opinion, they outperformed everyone else.
It was so unprepared the first one was the best
That is the one I thought was best also!
@@renawang9020 The first one was slow as hell, not even close to the original or the rest of auditions
@@DGismeraESP Iâd rather listen to a slower and relatively more accurate one than a faster (still slow) messy one
I agree
Abby Adams is awesome. I hired her to record one of my classical pieces for violin and piano and she was able to follow a pre-recorded piano track that had a bunch of tempo changes and rall's in it, and deliver the recording in a couple days. Her violin and mic set up acoustically sound very nice as well.
I like the one who did not show her face. She played very smooth and natural. Frank was another level. He is legendary.
It should really be called

Great I'm looking forward to it
Oh my gosh the flute channel !!!!!!!! Omg i love that channel
Wasn't that meant to be a joke referring to the fact that the song is actually called God Save the King and not God Save the Queen from the Sex pistols ?
how you gonna do the pizzicato?
me: never, ever have even touched a musical instrument
Rob: this song is difficult
also me: wow yes it is difficult
Yes it's difficult a violinist here
It must seem even more difficult then.
Sorry to be that guy, but... it's not a song it's a piece :3
Me too. Played clarinet in 6th grade and that's it. Loved hearing this piece being played.
@Will Swift Itâs not fancy, itâs just what it is considered in classical music
This made me realize I don't have a ear for music cause I could barely tell any difference between anyone
CZcams compresses audio
@@allaboutnature8157 You can still tell. The compression doesn't change it that much.
5:10 - I love watching people's reacting when they're watching someone play an instrument that they also play. The little facial expressions and smiles of appreciation they do are so telling. And i think we're all the same - I'm sure that all musicians perform these expressions when watching another talented musician playing an instrument that they can play.
Which violinist was your favorite?
5:58
Rob Landes
Rob Paganini
5:15 and the second last one were pretty decent
You.
I love how, at the end, when he says "1st, 2nd, 3rd" its perfectly timed with the video recommendations popping up.
Rob, I am quite a fan of yours and watch your videos every chance i get. You did an excellent job on playing the God Save the Queen excerpt. I am confident that if you spent the same amount of time practicing and studying the piece, you would have sounded just as good as the concert violinist that you played in the end. I love your depth and articulation of character in each and every note you play. Your musicality is on point and your passion is second to none. The great thing about you and your character as a musician is that you are not a stuffy pompas ass. You demonstrate a warm and down to earth mentality and it endears many of your fans to you. Keep of the great work my friend. Stay strong and stay true to yourself in all you do. May God bless you and your work.
Rob, I liked the first one ( $23). The slow pace was nice and made the piece nicer for me
Is it cheating saying that i liked the concert violinist more than anyone else? That was beautiful.
no. he's really really good. like one or two levels above everyone.
Not really a fair comparison considering he most likely had months to prep and practice vs a week. Not to mention that concert soloists are already a league ahead of everyone else. But yes, his version was definitely the best.
He is world class. Even Rob will become world class in 10 years
No but it is cheating that he has practiced this piece for far longer than a week. I honestly doubt even he wouldve had a much better result in 5 days or so. What separates world class concert soloists from the rest is that they just keep improving almost endlessly when they practice. Until it becomes the magic you hear like on this video.
@@29subhra bruh rob has been playing for 32 years he just looks young , 10 years won't change anything

I love how positive you are about all the players (and rightly so - they were all really impressive!) Loved the video
I like the first video. Just because she had the guts, as a novice, to take this on and not back out.
I don't think she was a novice, merely charging less because she comes from a country where ppp is different hence she can charge lower
Rob if you do this with pianists they not only hate you but they will hate liszt at a level never seen before
not rlly, alkan would have been a nightmare as there is so little musicality and absurd amounts of awkward technicality
liszt, although hard, is typically pretty fun once you get it
@@Ariana-dn4mm liszts gallop in a minor is harder than any Alkan piece ever. Alkan is not music it's just some fun techniques
@@KaasIsLekker Oh finally someone who shares my opinion!

I love how Rob is like a combination of a weeb, a professional musician, and your dad.
The original version was on a whole another level
Congratulations on the nice surprises you make. You inspire colleagues, violinists and promote the "aging" violin. Let the violin live in the 21st century!
the last one was LEVELS above everything else.
Community: Tortured by how difficult God Save the Queen is
Paganini: *This is fine*
Ulga (if thatâs how you spell it) reminded me a lot of Safya Nygaard. Anyone else?
Loved this video. I actually think that you played the piece really well. I also loved how the first lady from Venezuela played it. The sound of her notes had body to them and were really calming even if the tempo was slower than normal. Thank you all for showing us your amazing skills.
This was a lot of fun, Rob. Thanks. I really like how you build up these people that you challenge. Thank you for that, as well.
1st time watcher. I've been drumming for over 35 years, but after watching this, I realized hard very hard it is to play the violin!
Drumming easy compared to the violin. Great job! All of you.
i liked the one that didnt show their face the most their presence and tone was ON POINT lol from a clarinetist
Top favs
1. Zimmerman
2. Rob Landes
3. Most of the last gig
4. Second to last gig. I got the feeling of, "Oh, so this is what it is supposed to sound like!"
That was fun to watch! I They all did a great job. I think this piece stands and falls with the articulation of the very high notes . When you watch Frank Peter Zimmermann play this piece, it seems he has so much time to really celebrate these .. thatâs incredible...
I'd love to hear Hilary Hahn play this piece!
Iâm not a violinist, but a pianist and singer, and I must say that Iâm amazed at all of this. Iâm by no means a professional, I quit after only nine years, where I reached the point of being close to my teachers level, and then I just completely stopped. This makes me want to get back into it and relearn everything, because Iâm so amazed at how this music flows and how beautiful it sounds to me now that Iâm not learning it myself. I know just how much work this takes, and seeing that I couldnât do it myself, I bow down to all of you for your great efforts!
Most people have no idea how difficult it is to play a non fretted stringed instrument....especially the Violin ! As you can only rely on muscle memory you need to practice every day which means a massive commitment......my best advice is find a string Orchestra to play with.....this is where the fun and payback for your hard work is really rewarded. My boys went to Saturday Music School and literally cried when they were too I'll to go. It was the same for all the other Students that went too.....they all enjoyed playing together as an Orchestra so much that it made the hours spent practicing much easier đ
Not once have I thought that I end up watching violinists and being mesmerized in 2021. CZcams got some gold contents here and there. Good job to everyone in this video.
I just enjoyed so much Olga for her form to express and her musicality, but obviously all are amazingđ€©
I think they all did an amazing job. 5 days for the hardest piece is insane.
Nice video Rob!
Please, bring us more classical music videos! đ»
Wow!!! I have such an appreciation for great talent on the violin now. I donât play but I could hear the tempo differences and the style each person added to it. Yours was faster than the others but your pauses at just the right spots made it more beautiful almost like you are breathing the phrases. Wow
Great performances all the way around. Rob - I especially liked your tempo, and how precise you played. Kudos
The first violinist is my favorite and you're second.
Consistency of tempo, intention, clarity, and pleasantness.
Hats down for the effort to all of the musicians!đđđđđđđđđđđđđđđđđđđđđđ
There is so much to learn about music! I really enjoyed and was fascinated by all the different styles and then... Mr Zimmerman! Mind blowing
Absolutely fantastic!! Such clarity of pitch and tone.... beautiful!
First off I applaud all of them who tried that took a lot of courage. the video where the lady didn't show her face I thought was one of my favorite you did a pretty good job too. But but The professional concert player at the end was definitely outstanding
I think that they were all amazing, though I do have to say that Olga won my heart.
She sounded crisp, clean, & she flowed so magically. Oh if you turn the speed up to 1:25 or faster then she is on par with the Frank Peterson.
By the way you sound amazing yourself.
i also think she had the most artistic flow and signiture
oh heck yeah speeding it up t 1:25 and it sounds perfect she just needs the tempo!
Olgas sound was incredible and I loved every second of it! Way to go Olga đđŒ
His facial expressions are really interesting to watch. I feel like he listens in a way Iâve never learned to (as a non musician). Thanks for sharing! đŒ đ»

The best part about the final version from the concert violinist is that it was an encore; he had already played an entire concert, then played this insane piece, Wow.
are u for real? how can he be so good?
the look on his face at 9:50 is the look on my face when I hear *him* play - didn't realize professionals have that feeling too haha
I liked them all! Each one showed unique character and sound. I am not a musician, but study & teach 2nd language. There are some listening skills that transfer. It was like seeing beyond normal human vision into infrared and other spectrums. Each musician had such depth, nuance and unique character reflected in the music.
I loved the last one, and only partially because of her fantastic facial expressions. She's good, and she knows it!
I dont know shit about violins but I'm still subscribed to the channel and watch every single video.......crazy
Wow, they were all absolutely awesome and courageous! I do not play violin but even I can see how excruciatingly difficult this was with an obvious trade off between tempo and precision. They all made me hold my breath. To be honest Rob, you were nearly the best of the pack, but not quite. I don't want to say which my favorite was though.
Right? All of them are selling themselves cheep. Any of them could be making more, so I'm guessing they did it just for the fun of it.
I personally think all of you were and are amazing musicians as I dont believe I'd be able to play the violin myself keep up the amazing work!
I'm no musician, but I appreciate good music... I had that very same look on my face at the end of the video. Brilliantly played, Mr. Zimmerman; gave me chills.
5:24 I can't stop looking at that poster behind her.
For the next video, u should make them play Bach - Chaconne, Ernst - Erlkönig, Ysaÿe - Sonata No. 6, Ernst - Last Rose of Summer, Paginini - God Save the King, Paganiniana and Paganini Caprice No. 24

HOLY SHHHHHHHHH... You totally impressed me! I wasn't expecting it, but I think your go at it was the BEST!!!!
10:10 I like what you did with the end screen there haha
When will you learn the rest of the piece, Rob? I liked the challenge. When I took piano I was secretly playing more difficult pieces than what my teacher gave to me because I was bored with what I was given. All of these musicians will probably keep practicing this since they learned it this much. I hope you do too!
I did the same thing in 3rd grade when I took piano. It was boring and slow learning each note. After 2 months, I stopped lessons and just played by ear for covers and composed my own pieces by 5th grade. đ
Wow! Each one was amazing! But when you showed the Last man, I was blown away.... How is that humanly possible!? I didnt think it could get any faster then the first person, but it gradually did, these people are amazing!
9:10 you just Rick Rolled me! In the beginning when you played it sounded like you never played a violin before, and now you play it perfectly đ 9:39 yeah that guy makes it sound so easy
For me, the one at 7:08 was strongest.
This was brilliant!! What a great video! Just perfect for someone who plays the violin and gets this stuff... ahahah!! You played fantastically, Rob! It seems you had the recording to listen to? You appear to have gained something from that during your time with the piece. Great video!
Its inspiring that someone so experienced can pick up a piece and not instantly find it easy to play, I'm only at the beginning stages and the struggle is real!
broo your videos are great ... just amazing. I have learn so much this about violin .... Thank you.
Rob, you nailed it. The pro at the end, took everyoneâs nails and hammered it.
For me, $73.50, love her clean sound. Was a tad slow on some parts, but she picked up the tempo in other parts and this contrast gave life and color to the piece. The fact that she accepted the challenge means that she's a classical musician at heart. Bravo!! I always strive to stay halfway between the bridge and fingerboard, but she stayed kind of close to the fingerboard. I guess this has to do with her technique for getting those rapid changes in intonation.
Of the hired musicians, she was my first pick too, though I was impressed by all.
All were good! The whole video went from least best to best! đ„
The one that was 52.50 was my favorite, it just sounded so fluent and beautiful

I donât nor have ever had any want to try violin as Iâm not musically inclined but wow, all the players were great. Rob and the lady who played before the knock back were my favourites.
Thank you for showcasing how a violin is played for me. I haven't started myself. But am eager to learn. Also piano is my heart as well. I maybe will pick up guitar. Not too sure. But it is piano and then Violin. Then guitar in priority. Thanks again!
