Yes, when your child is in school, the teacher will make you buy enough for the whole class. Back in the day you would only buy school supplies for your child. Now, they ask you to buy whatever in like multiple supplies for your child's whole dam class. They want the parents to buy enough supplies for the whole school year. For example, each child will buy a packet of markers, they have all the kids dump out their markers into a big tub. So basically, all the children in the class are sharing school supplies. And this is why they do that, so my child's teacher explained to me that some children's parents are struggling with money, and they don't have enough money to buy their child school supplies. So, the child doesn't feel sad, or embarrassed they don't have school supplies like the other children. Some supplies they can keep for themselves, of course but that's why the teachers ask for a lot of school supplies on the list they hand out. Love- Jess
