thank you for showing us what to do when things don’t go how you want them to.
Stick around I do that a lot (ha ha ha) glad you got something out of it :)
I want to thank you for sharing what you doing. I have had the desires for making my art but am having the financial trouble that I cannot. I have been watching several videos as of yet because it seems to satisfy the need to create by actually watching someone else do it. But today you made me feel like I was there putting in the work with you. When you did the final reveal; before you even mentioned it I thought to myself, “That looks like a Phoenix “. Cause I remembered how disappointed you were that it ended up cracking and all the hard work you put in to cover up those cracks just to end up discovering the Phoenix. So NO...... this was not a failure. It’s a treasure.
Thank you Erika. Just remember art is not always a cost. Keep asking "what else is possible? And how does it get any better than this? "
Well, that was interesting. Great save!
Thank you Kathleen :)
Hi Michelle, your calendar is beautiful, bit I'm making my own with encaustic.
The irregular petals are very pretty. And a flower for a cold and rainy day is quite nice.
Awesomeness! How much fun can you have creating? Hugs
Definitely not a fail! I love the look of it! You taught me a lot in this video!! Thanks! Take care!
I'm so glad! Thanks Jeanne :)
Hi Michelle, thank you so much for posting about your beautiful mistake. I have two paintings where I made the paint too thin, and they dried all cracked and separated. I saw you putting the thick white over the top of yours, and thought "oh wow, I will do that today" and then you showed the dried result. I will use gesso, but wow, thank you for sharing and I agree, your "weird" is beautiful. Have an awesome day :)
You are so welcome! What else is possible now? If your paintings had silicone on them make sure you clean that off before gesso and repaint. Ask me how I know that ;)
@@McEArt Thank you so much :)
Such beautiful art 🖼🥺
Thank you Hagar
Really really like it, it's one of this pictures that when you look its moving. Big thumbs up xxx
Thank you Shirley 😊
That one certainly has character Michelle, and I think it has more impact than if it had dried 'properly'. 🧡
Yes Character is something I have and so does this painting! Thanks Jan ;)
Yes I love the corner affect!
Awesome. Thanks Debisjoy
So sad about the cracking, before it was dried I was thinking "this would be lovely on a record as well! Is this one going to be on your amazing new calendar? Or available as a download? " Then the cracks...love what you did to reserruct this piece. Those colors are sumptuous, and I hope you got a shot or two before it dried!
Yes I know right! Yes I did get photos :)
I love this!!!!
Thank you Donna
I see it as a learning experience and you could possibly use parts of the canvas in a mixed media project!
Thanks Susan :)
@@McEArt think how much fun you could have!
I think it’s cool 😎! I agree with your opinion, if you had fun doing it, it’s not a fail!!
I love this ❤️
Thank you Krystal :)
There’s also a little puff fish below and to the left of the rooster!!
Oh how cool! Thanks for pointing that out Donna
Cracking it's called. Some people like it.it adds to the dimensions of the painting.
Yes some people even buy special under paint to create the effect deliberately :)
@@McEArt I love your work so please keep it up!they're always so beautiful!
The pottery technique - could it be sgraffito? Love the outcome to your painting, so worth the effort: NOT a fail!!!!
Thank you! No it was more a painting technique like I did with the silver.
@@McEArt Ah, then it must be mishima I think - I always see them written side by side, then get them mixed up lol
What happens if there are air bubbles? Does it affect the design or is it a texture thing?
If the air bubbles dry they can cause holes in the painting.
Filling in the gaps with the silver is like what the Chinese did with there broken pottery but with gold and it turns out stunning. Can't remember the name for the technical word.
Yes thats right it is called Kintsugi meaning golden joinery :)
Interesting
Thank you Kathleen
I think there was too much paint on the canvas. Plus the white and the colored paints had different consistencies
which for all of these reasons, I think caused the cracking. I learned from this video, so thank you
I totally agree! Great to hear you learned as well and me ;) Thanks for watching Eleanor :)
It gives a new meaning to crazy paving 🙈
It might be time to get back to your original paints and put the Rick's Mix away for a while
Have fun with the next one
I agree although the next 2 will be fun to watch.
Crazing
Yes
Omg I've got to stop writing before you finish because think we were on the same wave length
Ha ha ha! Thats awesome
I would have put at least 2 "flowers" on the canvas.
Cool. I look forward to seeing you paintings in the Acrylic pouring for fun facebook group :)
Loving this video so sorry I never got in touch I had a family emergency and wiped my funds out
Whats right about that we're not getting? Thanks so much for watching.
@@McEArt ??? i dont understand what u mean by whats right about that??? i was going to get a piece of art off u a few months ago but had a family emergancy so i couldnt is what i was saying
@@aylaedwards2968 this is a question that I like to ask when things don't show up as I expect. If you had already bought the painting and not had the money for the emergency may have caused stress that didn't occur as you hadn't paid for which I am grateful.
@@McEArt yes im sorry i didnt contact you to say why i hadnt been in touch but everythings been so hectic and i felt bad aswell so i just wanted to let you know what had happened,it was just puretiming i was going to contact you the next morning to get the ball rolling on buying the art but i got the call that night so im sorry i hope i didnt let you down
@@aylaedwards2968 no worries lovely. I hope life is flowing with more ease joy and glory now 😃
Unfortunately I wrote my comments too early, not knowing that the beautiful flower was going to crack.
Of how funny. It is now like spring the rebirth of a Phoenix is like the land rebirthing after winter ;)
Sorry, it's blurry.
Thank you Kathleen
