How A Duck Dog Should Ride In a Boat

How to train your duck dog to ride in the boat.
We spend a lot of time trying to get our dogs to retrieve and be great hunting dogs, but guess what? They can be great boat dogs too! I go over how i've trained my dog "Bud" to ride in the boat. I thought this up after driving long distances down trails that i just couldn't quite jump up on plane in with one person in the boat. Sometimes I'd grab a log and put in the front of the boat for a counter balance. Logs can help you get on plane, but they roll around and make turns pretty sketch. Training Bud to do this make navigation much better, and thats why we bring dogs along. To make the hunt better.
