  • have you wondered what the S, X, and N series camps are on our website? Well in this video we will go through the S and the X series camps to help you get an idea of the difference between the two. Each model comes with advantages and disadvantages. The S series camp width measures 88" inside where as the X series camp measures 96" inside. you wouldn't think 8" would make much of a difference but you wouldn't believe how much room this actually gives you. Probably the biggest area that this impacts is when we do layouts that differ from the traditional layout. layouts such as bunk beds, dinettes, reclining sofas, and others were that extra room makes for a more comfortable camp. When we first started building the X series we thought for sure we wouldn't sell any of the narrower models but we have been quite surprised. i would say that right around 30%-40% of that camps we are building currently are our narrow models. In the end its going to come down to what the customer wants and we just want to have as many options available to fit your needs.

@@peakmountaincamps yeah me too. I found your shop on my way north on 89. But spent many a trip hunt or camp out or cabin trip on skyline or Fairview lakes.

I’m curious if there is an option for a wood stove only. Like the old sheep camps I grew up around. That would interest me much more than a gas stove/oven. I’d want to keep propane for fridge but would prefer an extra large solar and battery power.

You bet! We can set them up exactly the way you want it. We just had a gentleman pick his camp up today that set it up with a wood stove and a gas light and that was it as far as heating.

@@peakmountaincamps Your excellent craftsmanship is self evident. Can't wait when time comes to order our own. Will probably go with the Solitude 28X. Keep those vids coming.

    How tall?

Depends on what size you go with and what you do suspension wise. a over sprung x series camp will be right around 11 foot to the top of the stove pipe.
