This is what led to the Epic NPC Man scene where Hamish punches everyone who isn't paying attention to him.
The creation of a villain lol
Which one is that?
@@DreamWizardMedia yeah which one
nah, it's his backstory from Dark Souls series
trueee
The part when Britt said the exact same thing the waiters said, even though she was a customer, was actually pretty scary. Had some real horror vibe.
Yea and how she just stared like that without blinking
All this time the clock was moving forward I was like "Well the lady behind him is having the same issue it appears"
That reaction was a nice twist to what I expected to happen. These are god damn mages for building that expectation and then twisting it.
I agree, scared me a bit too! Haha
Same here! I thought he was trapped on a different dimension os something 😅
But who was she talking to, though?
I love Hamish. Doesn’t matter whether he plays a good downtrodden character or an evil one, I still want him to win. And he doesn’t. Perfect character acting.
However, the episode when Fred rips Alan apart with a single strike of a huge sword is also perfect.
Harmish plays an extra part in rhe monkey series netflix
Yeah, Hamish is my favorite.
He sometimes wins
Bananay?
It's amazing how modern cameras still can't auto focus properly on the subjects too far away. Almost felt like there was something close to the lens which was grabbing the focus. Weird.
Hamish who?
Underrated comment.
Took me a second
Did you see an occasional blur, as well? Almost like movement in the corner of your eye, it was odd
Copycat comment !!!!
Interesting approach to have the camera so focused on an empty space instead of a character. I like it

Would have loved to see Hamish punching Rowan 😆
This hits a little too close to home.
My wife and I have a running joke that we always sit in the "blackhole of service." It happens so often to us that we have a term for it. We once ordered drinks, entree and mains at a restaurant to have the bill dropped off at our table an hour later after not actually receiving anything! That was a memorable one.
I have been ignored at a restaurant before myself. Waited like 40 minutes just to see how long it would take for them to notice me. I finally got really pissed and complained to a manager cuz I felt it was deliberate. If I hadn't spoke up probably would never have served me. It was the most awful feeling.
Damn
You waited an hour at a restaurant with no service? Jeez. I'm calling them over after like 15 mins.
Oh yeah make sure you call them just when you take a seat otherwise they will really waste your time in all best sense
Are you Hamish!?
I once was at a place and they had loads of people coming in and out just for takeout while we were dining in. Then when done eating I wanted to pay but ALL of the employees just ignored me and rushed me by, even though I was waiting at the counter. Getting their attention seemed impossible and I joked to my girlfriend "food's free today", hoping an employee would hear it. Once I finally got someone's attention they took their time figuring out how much I had to pay. I genuinely think if I would have walked out without paying, no one would have ever noticed. What's up with this sh*t?!
Similar thing happened to me once. There's this pub in my town that I went to a lot last year and loved, but apparantly they got new owners following the pandemic, and the new staff just completely ignore you unless you straight up go up to them and physically tap them on the shoulder. If you just sit in your seat, they'll walk past you again and again. I sat there for 30 minutes trying to get someone to take my order and feeling more and more stupid, until I finally just went to the restaurant next door instead. I don't know how places like this manage to stay afloat, they've got to be losing a lot of customers.
I was waiting for him to start steal people's food and doing weird shit because he thought he was invisible, and then all of a sudden everyone notices him and it's a hugely humiliating moment
Reminds me of today when I was ignored by automatic sliding doors at a local supermarket. I think it is even more depressing when you get ignored by a machine.
Ouch...
According to the Simpson's, you must have sold your soul.
It's the beginning of the end! Skynet is starting small to see if we notice! First it's automatic doors not automaticing, then it'll be alarm clocks being late, self driving cars crashing... the war is coming.
Are you sure you're not a ghost?
Check the mirror for reflection!
Just by reading the title, I knew it'd be an episode with Hamish.
I didn't even realize Hamish was in the thumbnail until after I read the comment.
couldve been byron too though XD
Is has to be Hamish. It's always Hamish.
Agreed
Poor guy, can't catch a break.
It took me exactly 15 seconds to know this would be a "seat yourself" type of restaurant. You'll be waiting for 30 minutes before someone finally asks if you've been attended to lmao.
If more than 5 minutes pass by without anyone taking your order, you should assume they don´t want your money. So, there are other places for you to take it.
Hamish has some really incredible acting abilities. what an absolute gem he is
Such an interesting video showing background footage of a restaurant, very calming.

Oh my gosh I can relate to this SO MUCH! My heart leapt when I saw you uploaded one of your restaurant skits. They're some of my absolute favorites! I absolutely lost it when he got shoved out of the way at the end. And the cuts between the two waiters saying "we'll be right with you" was so genius!
Poor Hamish he's always in for a bad time.
His skills as an actor are amazing though!

Hamish is fantastic. And the whole skit is perfectly executed. So good.
Lets be honest, skits like this fit Hamish perfectly. He is soo good playing this kind of character, and you can viscerally feel his pain lol

good to use to restaurants that do this... especially the beginning is very realistic when he clearly was next to u able to hear the entire thing and keps on walking or looks at u then just looks away as if he somehow didn't notice it. Nice video ❤️
Am I missing something, here? I looked at the title of this video, yet, I can see that everybody seemed to be well taken care of, by the waiters. Britt was clearly enjoying her meal, and Ben was welcomed and given a table, straight away.
Exactly, The camera angle was a bit weird. It kept showing this empty table and the stairs but other then that everything seems fine.

Hamish is such a good actor he doesn't seem like he's acting. I hope some good fortune comes your way.
This happened to me once, on a first date at a place that specialized in a wide assortment of baked potatoes. They also served salads, however, since that baked potatoes were huge and loaded with all sorts of things, I opted for the baked potato.
My date received his dinner relatively quickly, but I sat there for more than an hour trying to get my dinner. It was like I wasn't there, and every time I tried to get someone to help me, they looked at me then sped off to wherever they were going.
As for our waiter, he came by a few times to check on my date's meal, and topped up his drink, but acted like I wasn't at the table.
I thought it had to be some sort of prank at first, but shortly before closing, the waiter showed up and presented the check. It was only then that he looked at me, surprised to see me there.
I never did get my potato, and I never went back.
Didn't your date do or try to mention something? I would have been livid if I'd been on a date and I was acknowledged while they ignored her. By the way, I feel your pain.
A few weeks ago, my wife, daughter and I went to a favorite restaurant of ours. This time, the waitress would only make eye contact with my wife. When she had to acknowledge my existence, she was curt and would always leave in a huff. She got half way through taking my order before she closed her book and stormed off. Came back later, apologized about "Wanting to go home" or some other lame excuse and finished my order. This behavior continued throughout the meal. At one point, she topped off the waters for my wife and daughter. I was in the process of handing her my glass when she did the same thing, just slammed the pitcher down and left in a huff. At this point, my wife had been watching the waitress and was livid. She said that she refused to even look at me the entire time. Later she came back, stammered another lame excuse. She placed her hand on my shoulder and leaned over me to top off our glasses with more water. That action was so creepy, I still don't understand what she was trying to accomplish. You ignore my existence the entire time, then at the end, you try to make up for it by being creepily intimate??
I still have no idea what I did to make this waitress behave the way she did. Why only my wife and daughter were okay in her sight. Will definitely never go back there again. Also, a little back ground about me, I worked in Customer Service that dealt with people traveling with the airlines for ten years. I get, how rude and grumpy and unreasonable people can be. But I'm still at a loss as to how these people can treat their customers, especially when I (the tipping customer) am literally paying your bills.
I will bet they did not forget that baked potato on the check.
@@joshuadavidson3689 you were a man, that is what you did wrong.
Maybe they did not actually serve potatoes?
@@joshuadavidson3689 I think she liked you and seeing you with your wife makes her angry. Just a speculation because I had that happened to me too
I was waiting to find out he was really a ghost.
Also, if he's functionally invisible, it's the perfect time to just take stuff off the waiters' trays and enjoy the free food.
Or leave. He could always leave.
That would probably trigger something that allowed them to see him, like how they "noticed" him enough to tell him "we'll be right with you"
If he is a ghost. How can he eat food? Lol just a thought.
If he tried to grab some food off of someone's plate he'd probably hear someone yell "FOR THE KINGDOM!" and get attacked.
You know, maybe that's why people have short memory lapses or absent-mindedness, or forgetting things when crossing thresholds like when going to the kitchen. We were briefly forced to pause to tell a ghost off.
@@seanstenson2835 Well, they did eventually talk to him. Just initially, when they weren't talking to him.

Hamish is my favorite character in all your series. Love your stuff
I was expecting Rowan just walks up to him after 5 hours and just tells him to scan the QR code in the corner of the table to order
I've actually had this once. I went past a terrace decided that it would be nice for a drink. I sat there for 20 minutes. No one came by me and I walked away. Strangest experience ever.
I've witnessed and personally experienced similar situations. It's always when there's a single person. VLDL already had an episode on it, I believe. They just hate singles. You're a second class this way. They have to pay for a table with just one person, it's more work for less profit.
I had that happen once but was with my parents. There were 3 waitress who were all talking to each other behind the bar and maybe two other groups of people in the restaurant. Sat there for about half an hour with no water, no menus, no nothing. They didn't even clean the tables that had no one at them. It was weird

My friend and I were ignored for 15 mins even though multiple staff saw us. In the end my colleague got annoyed and went in to get a seat, but got rudely rebuked by a young lady to go back to the entrance and wait. A cleaning uncle saw what happened and scolded the lady, saying we had been there a while. The lady still left us alone 😐 the cleaning uncle went in to get an older lady to attend to us and we were finally seated.
Hamish just keeps getting better and better in his acting. Delivered just everything in this skit
I remember this happening to me and my friends once, good service all night... until we asked for the bill. 45 mins later they still wouldn't give it to us, so my friend told one of the waiters that we were leaving without paying. 20 seconds later the bill was there!
Honestly, you should all have just taken a chance and just dashed, leave one after the other minute by minute.
What jerks. They were doing it on purpose.
@@thegreatestcrewmate9195 Not really, usually not all waiters can take money.
This is why i've always found the idea of flagging down your wait staff when you need something makes way more sense than them having to ask "is there anything you need" to every single table and try to see if your water needs filling from across the room etc. byr for some reason we've decided thats rude to do?!?
One of my fav restaurants has a little flippable object that is basically do not disturb or assistance needed (its red or green) and it works great. I also worked at a cafe when i was younger that had something similar and it made things so much easier on the worker side to.
I personally love those restaurants where you get a tablet and just order, whenever you feel like it. Better yet, if you can pay via the thing as well and just go.

Its normal in the Netherlands and I've never been anywhere else where I got the impression it was considered rude...

I doubt it since we live off of tips making 60-75% of our monthly income, if were not paying attention to you its cause were overly packed thinking about 10 things we need to do in the next 3 minutes and quite frankly sometimes we forget about you especially if you seat yourself. I work in busy place and when lunch starts at like 12 and by the time it ends at like 16:30-17:00 Im multi tasking 5+ things at the same time nonstop. So unless you see the place is visibly empty cut us some slack and dont force yourselves on us. There are situations when Im running back and forth from the kitchen carrying 4-6 plates at a time and an impatient costumer keeps reminding me he wants to order every time I pass next to him.

There comes a point where you'd be waiting too long and rather than causing a scene, leave and find a better restaurant. Also meeting a fellow customer go bot-mode, I'd exit out of there to avoid the same fate.
This is top acting! Good job Rowan writing down the orders.
He is suuch a brilliant sort of 'negative emotion' actor!
Sometimes you just want to give Hamish a BIG hug 🥰
Also, at some point he should've just taken the drink and food he wants from the other customers 😅
Wow, this has happened to me several times in local restaurants.
Never before have I witnessed a group so devoid of drive that they ignore their customers and then blame you when you speak out about it.
That final part is spot on; a friend of mine had a similar experience when he tried to speak to a staff after waiting 35 minutes and the employee still took the customer order behind him ignoring him trying to get their attention all the while everyone, including individuals, just arriving was getting their orders done.
Ignore him completely.
I've had minor delays which were annoying in restaurants, but the real big problem is within the grocery stores, clothing stores, retail stores or warehouse stores. In restaurants the waiters and waitresses generally want you fed quickly and leaving quickly to maximize tips. In those other stores... the working staff will literally avoid people who are looking for assistance.
@@NTJedi the only time someone in a store asks me of I need help is when I don't and am heading straight for what I want. It's like they think they're stopping a potential shoplifter or just going through the motions to appear to management like they're doing something.

I had an experience like this once.
When I was younger, I went on a cruise with my family over the summer holidays. Towards the end, we went to a really fancy restaurant on board called the Epicurean (it was a big deal for us, since we don't really do fancy restaurants). It was a great disappointment: the food, though it was made to look fancy, was mediocre, and the service was absolutely abysmal. You also got the constant impression that you were supposed to be grateful to be there at all.
We got served initially, sure, but once we had all finished, no one came to take away the dirty plates and give us the menu for the puddings (which they were obviously supposed to, given that we could see them doing it with people around us). We sat there for a long time - there were people who had come in, had their *entire meal* (three whole courses) and then left, all whilst we were sat there with dirty plates - don't get me wrong, we definitely tried to get the attention of the servers, but nothing.
Later on, we went to a far more casual restaurant on board - I can't remember what it was called (just goes to show that you remember bad experiences more than good ones) - which was also far cheaper, and both the food and the service were far better.
They're not supposed to take it if cutlery is in "X" shape, they'll take it if it's in parallel. There's many other rules of etiquette, and a dress code.

Also, they should _never_ ignore a guest regardless.
And if it was a cruise, those little things should be in the information in you cabin.

@@VcSaJen nevertheless they could have checked in. Being a good host means guiding your guests through this situation, if you notice they are not familiar with your social codes.

Nice of them to do a skit of just a table! Excellent service btw
This happened to me at a restaurant of the hotel where I was staying at for my vacation. I ordered a crab side dish along with rice and other dishes, and just sat waiting there forever. Whenever I tried getting the attention of a waiter, they would either ignore me, or reply with a polite "your order is being prepared and would arrive shortly". After nearly 45 minutes, the dishes arrived and I started. By then, it was nearing the end of lunch hour at the restaurant and tables had started emptying. But I'm not very fast with hard crab shells, so I also took my own sweet time breaking all those shells and relishing the crab slowly, while watching out of the corner of my eyes how the waiters were now standing idle, having nothing to do but literally "wait" on me now that all other tables were empty!! I could see some of them giving me dirty glances, at the way perhaps, that I'm wasting their off time, but you screwed me earlier, guys. It's time I returned the favour..
I experienced something similar when I was still a child and on vacation with my parents. We and another family were seated in a side room, because there was a group booking in the main room. Waiters came through regularly, and always promised to be right back. After 90 minutes the father of the other family took an ashtray (yes, I'm that old), send it flying through the room and have it shatter on the floor. A second later someone came checking was what going on. He put a 10 DM bill on the table and stated "This one's on me. And in five minutes the next one is also on me".
30 Seconds later 2 waiters were there taking the orders of us two families.

Very glad to see more Hamish again! This is me, but when I'm waiting ages in the doctor's office or at the vet clinic. Just when I start thinking I've been forgotten someone finally comes into the room, but it's long enough I start to feel anxious.
Hamish character is one of my favorite, in every series that he appears.
Hamish is really shines as an actor!! I like his playin’ 👍
His eyes are so pretty and that shit enchances them even more. ♥
