I'd say you are right, they *are* the best shelves. And if you do production work, I would say, they will pay for themselves.
A couple notes on the shelves. You absolutely want to keep them from getting wet, and if they somehow do, dry them long and slow. They cannot handle moisture, like standard shelves do.
Second, if I'm not mistaken, they also do conduct current. So make sure they are not touching the kiln elements! Generally a good rule for all shelves, but even more so for these.
Just wanted to say, love the "out takes" they make me smile! Enjoy the advancer shelves, I also heard they are a game changer!!!

This man's energy level is contagious. He makes me smile :) I don't do pottery but I sculpt small figurines, charms, things of that nature, and he makes me want to try this. I honestly thinking throwing the clay would be the best part, get lots of frustration out. Plus it would just be fun. lol I hope you get partnership with them!!

We changed to these kiln shelves. Our Christmas present to ourselves. Love them for all the reasons you said. But then. Cut our firing time from 12 hours to 5 hours. Cone 5. This changing everything
How does that work? That you can reduce the time by so much?

I have regular shelves right now and do not use kiln wash. Because of your issue regarding It flakes!!! We have lots of cookies which helps minimize drips. However these shelves are worth considering!

Thanks Jon, they look perfect. Maddeningly they are not available in the U.K. and they don't seem to make any that fit my kiln. Maybe if word gets round, that could change!

I found it interesting that he glazes a mug without having the base waxed, forcing him to sponge off all the glaze on the bottom. Isn’t that a waste of glaze?
It looks like he did it in a manner that he didn't get any glaze on the bottom to wipe off but, even if he had used wax and got glaze on the bottom, you still have to wipe off.
Okay totally random but I have a large Boxer mix pup myself; boxer, German Shepherd and black lab. My point being is that she plays the exact same way. When she gets all excited she'll gives me her butt & then Wiggle Worms, doing a U shape from one side to the other. Mouth open, sounds and all. Now I know what part of her plays like that. lol
