- Apparently, I have some admires that have been walking and driving behind our house to see how our vintage camper renovation is coming along!! So, I thought it's time to level up and install a custom, wood rock guard over the front windows. It took a lot of work and dry time, but I am very please with how it turned out. I just hope it holds up in the rain and winter elements!

Wow! That is so unique and beautiful! You will feel so much better if you cover it. There are so many ways that water can find its way in. I just got my trailer and have a long road ahead of restoration, but I'll definitely get a cover for it. You just never know.
Thank you! Yes, unfortunately it has already started to get some water damage. So, I think I'm going to do it in a different wood and definitely cover it! Ugh! I should've done that from the start.

Nice job on the rock guard. As far as covering it, we cover our camper every winter. Your can get them on Amazon and order it to the size of your camper. We have a Classic Accessories cover that fits very well and secured with straps that go under the camper and hook to the bottom of the cover. It also has zipper panels so you can get into the camper with the cover on. It must be a good brand. I see many campers in people's yards around us with the same cover. A very good investment to protect your camper over the winter.

Thank you!! I've been so afraid to cover just the rock guard, because I didn't want it to grow mold. So, I'll definitely look into that cover for the whole camper. We plan to build a carport for it to be stored under when not in use, but that won't be until next year.

These covers are good because they protect your camper from the elements but also are vented to allow some air flow to prevent mold .
