- Sadly we have to inform you that our beloved bushman and artist, Nagualero, no longer is with us.
He calmly passed away 9th of January.
He will forever be remembered, loved and truly missed.
We Will keep our promise and let his life work-his channel to go on. Both with unpublished content and with some new.
Till then, watch his videos, send him a thought and light a candle ❤️
Thank you all for your support throughout the years. I know he will be with you all on your travels and adventures.

My name is Tim, I started crying for a man I never met. I am a retired US Army soldier, Ric saved me mentally and inspired me physically. I would always look to see if he posted another video and it would be the first thing I watched. Most of them I watch two or three times. God Bless you Ric, God Bless your family and from the bottom of my heart , thank you .
Tearing up for a man and his wife I’ve never met. So sorry to hear this…I don’t follow celebrities or singers or actors and there aren’t too many truly impressive CZcams folks. But this man was a treasure, unique content, amazing artistry and camera skills. What a loss to us all. Best wishes to you and your family.

You are so right??? This has been such a dark day for me! This guy took us places we never dreamed we could go. His backpack, his cooking gear, his camp kitchen, his gourmet cooking, his paintings, his musical talents, pack rafting, his undeniable love for his animal family and last but should be first, his mastery of the art of true bushcraft. I can’t say enough about this gentleman. Just a beautiful soul. Well Ric!, wherever you are, I pray that your tarps up, your bedroll laid out and lofting, your long fire lit and a fresh pot of chaga tea is ready. Cheers Sir! Rest easy.

I am a 67 year old woman who got into Bushcraft because of watching this man. I bought the tools that he used and followed his Bushcrafting examples. While I didn't share his love of painting, I DID share his love of preparing food over an open flame. Wow. We have lost an amazing human being. RIP.

He entered into my life in 2019 during covid.
I started making pizza after watching a video of him making pizza in -5 degrees.
Also started camping after watching his videos in my mid 30's.
Bought my tent ,bed etc in 2020.
Watching his videos was my only joy for a long time.
Even my parents , they also watched his videos.
I lost my father 3 months ago,he also loved his videos.
Today i wanted to open and watch one of his new videos but devastated reading the loss of him.

Besides being a very talented artist and bushcrafter, Ric was a very kind and generous person. He behaved like a friend and supported me and my channel, although he had nothing to gain. He encouraged me to try playing the flute and I am now very passionate about it, due to him. The news of his departure saddened my heart. May God rest his beautiful soul in peace and caress the hearts of his wife and beloved family! I am honored and grateful for having had the opportunity to interact with such a wonderful person!

@@WildGreenJohanna yah, it saddens me, for a man I never met, but somehow we bring these people into our lives that we only see on video. I guess the difference is , you get at times to interact with them, like you and others. I’ve actually been on long conversations with Tim, The Tactical Defender, we became friends, and we talk sometimes for hours, he just called me today, but that’s rare for most.

I’m so saddened to hear this news. Im actually crying right now, for this man I didn’t know and who didn’t know me. I believe him to be a kind, gentle soul with a love for nature and wonderful artistic talent - painting, carving and film. These videos have brought me peace and stillness and a vicarious outdoor camping experience during difficult times. Im grateful to have found the channel. I miss Ric, his lovely smile, love of animals and his gorgeous paintings and so much more...more than I can say. I never met him, of course, but can't watch this video without shedding tears. He always made me feel like I knew him through his videos. He was a good man, and may he rest in peace.
I wasn’t expecting to cry today. Ric wasn’t simply a bushcrafter. He was a happy and free soul. He lived his life well. We will all remember him always.

I just sobbed , I am no camper and no bush crafter but he made me feel connected. just loved him so much even though I never met him. He kept me entranced with his videos .
Extremely saddened by this terrible news. He was the best at his craft, talented beyond belief in so many ways, including the ability to capture all of it. I discovered the channel a few years back and I have watched every single video. So much incredible, amazing content, his spirit lives on in these videos he created. And damn, could he cook up some food! I've tried a few of his dishes on my own little getaway adventures. He lived a great life. I'm so glad I discovered this channel when I did. Very moving, I feel the same way and discovered him in a similar manner. Soo sad, The only other person I felt this way when they passed, and not knowing them, was Dale Earnhardt Sr. I dont know why I mentioned the last part but regardless I am deeply hury by both of their passings

After I heard of his passing, i could not watched his videos again. It was too sad, it reminded me of when i lost my brother. I just started watching them again. It helps me deal with things that I still have inside.

Just can't believe the sadness, it's like the passing of a dear friend. This channel and Swedwoods were by far my favorites. So relaxing and therapeutic his videos were to watch. My heart felt sympathies go out to his family and friends!
I’m so sorry. His videos helped me so much. In March 2020, I got covid and then pneumonia and then bad long covid. There were nights where his Tipi Diaries videos were the only thing that kept me sane while I struggled to breathe. I watched his videos over and over. His art and silly humour were amazing. I didn’t know him, but this old lady from Skåne loved his videos. I’ll always remember him for helping me even though he didn’t know it. Again, I’m so sorry for your loss.

I loved the way his camp morphed into a painting so precisely that it was hard to distinguish between what was real or not. His quiet ways and gifted craftsmanship of unquiet items like the windpipe and his passion for campfire cooking. This news has hit me right in the gut. I am so, so sorry for the loss. One of my favorite people to watch. He was sure living the good life and I have spent many hours enjoying his artwork and awesome content. His outdoor recipe for chili will always stay with me, I’ve made it many times in the same cast iron pot. Blessings to the family, saddened to hear this.
I had never camped as a boy, or with friends, or my Father growing up. I'm not in my early 30's and found this channel during the pandemic. Nagualero's vision, grit, simplicity, and his connection to the wilderness brought about a pull inside me that I had never felt before. I bought all my gear, and went out on my first overnight solo camp because of him last year. It was magical. I have three more planned this year. His spirit guided me to the wilderness, where I feel we will meet soon. What a truly enchanted being, this one. Sad day.
Remembering his wonderful and gentle soul will forever remain in our hearts. May Nagualero rest in peace.
Hands down one of very best bushcraft you-tubers ever! I loved the way he would make a painting and then have it fade into the actual site in the woods, he had so many talents and brought them to us to enjoy. I'll always remember going on his adventures with him as he shared. Again he was one of the very best.

So sorry for your loss Lisa. Your husband helped me get through many health conditions in my rough days. Just want you to know that he gave me the inspiration to overcome my issues, and I am now able to go out into the woods and enjoy every moment just as he did. Never once met him, but I have lost a very dear friend!
This breaks my heart. I remember when I first discovered the channel. I was having bad bouts of insomnia and was desperate for something to calm my mind. I was instantly hooked and his work was a soothing relief for me. Such a beautiful artist and we are less of a people with him gone. May he rest in peace and may his memory be a blessing to his family and friends.
Very very sad to hear this, I watched his videos a lot back in 2014-2015 and it helped relax me quite a bit back then during a rough time in my life. RIP.

I am truly gutted. This is so bad. No words to express my sadness. Third person in two months who I felt close to. A true inspiration and creative genius. I just don’t understand why. We talked through the messages on the videos and I felt truly blessed to done so. I am so sorry.

I miss him a lot. Miss his videos so much. I bought a painting from him. I remember when he started because I started to watch him when he was doing acrylic painting. It was a moment of my life where I was lost, I got diagnosed with a sickness and couldn’t work anymore so I was looking for some good content on CZcams. I remember getting mad sometimes because it will take him a little longer to produce his video for the week. I love that guy like a brother. He really help me go trough that toughest time of my life. He is an amazing man, an amazing husband too. He gave me the taste to start painting. He was a true inspiration for me. Thanks for everything Rick

Ric's channel was something I put on every night to help me unwind when i was going through some stuff. His passion for art and the outdoors was so inspiring to me, without even saying a word he kept me engaged throughout all of his videos. RIP man. You will be missed.
I’m a painter and Ric inspired me through his paintings. I learned much in the skills of survival from his videos. I never met Ric, but I feel I lost a dear friend. He was warm, gentle and truly caring in his videos. The world lost a beautiful soul.

You get to feeling you've seen it all, and lose hope, than there he is quietly cooking, in a tent, by a fire, in the woods, in the snow, rain, or summer. I started watching the Channel with my young daughters because of how calming and beautiful they are. In their minds Nagulero is synonymous with the woods, camp fires, painting, and music. We will miss him.
He helped my husband and I through the stress and fear of the pandemic, and we loved his adventures and art. Our hearts extend to his loved ones.

He was an amazing bushman, craftsman, primo outdoorsman, and magnificent painter. My husband watched all his posts and shared with me often because mostly for me it was his painting since I paint too. He had a unique style and made it look so relaxing and simple. Such a tragedy .. my condolences to all his friends and family💛💛. This was a very thought out nicely put together tribute. He certainly will be missed. He's left his energy and heart in so many places and people💛💛
What a loss... He was a beautiful , kind man. So talented at his crafts. His videos soothed my soul and brought me great comfort. I know he was a great teacher and mentor to many.
I am absolutely sick to my stomach over this horrible news. Ric was a man that brought the beauty of his surroundings into our lives with his videos. There wasn't one of his offerings that I found to be anything but perfect. His eye for beauty was unquestionable. Through his bush craft experience we were all witness to his unique ability to teach without words, establish a very comfortable campsite, make bread and most of all to tread lightly when in the forest.
Of all the outdoor/bushcraft channels I subscribe to, not one of them has ever made bread the way that Ric did. His ability to cook in the woods was one of my favorite talents of his to watch. He really had a talent for cooking and loved to experiment with different ingredients.
His love for the Forrest and devotion to the environment were always the focus of his videos. That's what drew me to watch him in the first place. This world was a better place because of him and the strange days that have been were more tolerable because he cared about his viewers. We were able to escape with him into the woods and live through his beautiful visions and incomparable paintings.
For a man that I have never met, I wrote to him often and he always answered. I have lost so many friends and family members as of late that it's becoming frightening. Losing Ric is a devastating situation for all of us, especially for his family. I offer my deepest and heartfelt condolences to all his family and friends.
If Heaven is all that the Bible says it is, and I do, then Ric's first stop was to the forests of paradise.
John Denver wrote a song titled "To the Mountains" back in 1977 that I thought of when I started to write this letter. The chorus describes Ric so well. "To the mountains, I can rest there, To the rivers, I will be strong, To the forest, I'll find peace there, To the wild country, where I belong."

I am so shocked and saddened for your loss. I am a simple man that lives in Michigan (USA) that had a rough time during this pandemic. In March of 2020 I started watching Ric and his bush crafting videos and it actually inspired me to try it myself. I actually purchased everything I could on Ric’s gear list including the incredibly expensive axe and the reason why is, I believed in his way of life and found peace in it. I truly enjoyed watching him, I actually watched one of his videos just the other day. I never met you but I didn’t really have to because its like we all knew you anyway. God speed and many blessings. I’m even having a hard time writing this, i am so sad )-:
One of the guys that got me out into the woods and therefore opened my world immensely. Stumbling upon his channel one night, I knew immediately this was a real human being; truly alive, active and in touch with truth. Can't say that about too many people. I'll never meet him physically now, of course, but his spirit feels close and will live on forever in his amazing body of work.
I still am in shock. I am so sorry to hear the news. Long time watcher. Ever sonce I got on CZcams I always kept up with this man. He will be missed.

He touched so many of us on here with his silent ways. An absolute barrel of knowledge. For someone I'd never met you had an impact today and all the other days before as I sat and watched. We spoke only twice and you seemed such a good guy. Thank you for the advice on the drone flute. Condolences to Lisa and those closest to him.

on our hike last sunday we were just talking about his love for outdoor cooking, being in nature and soaking up the peaceful moments. what an inspiration. so sorry for your loss, thanks a lot for taking the time to inform the viewers and even make a video, i appreciate this a lot.
My sincere condolences and respect. I was raised by my parents in bush craft and survival. I am 69 now and my folks are with our Lord. I so enjoyed Nagualero and his videos and art. I would often reminisce of my family and the fun we had when I enjoyed his videos. I am so thank full that we can still enjoy his journey in videos. I am so very sad and will pray for him and all that he cared about. RIP.
