Just a stupid question tio the people in the know. I have a 9900K with 2 SSD + 1 NVME + 2 normal Harddrives and 32 GB of ram. The only thing I want is (obviously) to have faster HDDsk access when loading games. Can I (somehow) use my 16+GB of normally unused Ram for that without creating a cheesy Ram-Disk?
Windows automatically uses unused ram as a cache for frequently used files & processes. If however, you want a more manual approach primocache can use unused ram as a cache drive for the hdd. If it was me id buy a cheap ssd & have primocache use it as a cache drive for the hdd.

It's a shame intel is killing off optane but at least you can get M.2 optane cheap if you know which ones to buy.

Optane is really only good for the random Iops. Shame that it is now dead.

Try to use PrimoCache. It may help.

Sorry, how was the SSD+Optane setup? Was Optane the boot drive and SSD for files? or was Optane setup as Pagefile, ZFS or something else?
