- We finally give you viewers what you want and hit the lake to film some Lake Erie Summer Walleye! Many walleye anglers quit fishing or complain about the bite during the heat of summer, but as you will see in this video, it can be just as good of a bite as any other time. On this day, we used a combination of segmented leadcore and dipsy divers with spoons, spinners, and crank baits. In addition to catching a ton of fish, we drop some serious tips on how to be more efficient, use specialized gear, and ultimately catch more fish under a variety of conditions.
Capt. Ross Robertson has made his complete living chasing walleye as a full time professional angler for more than 20 years. Through the years he has worn many hats including time as a fishing guide, boat salesman, TV host, outdoor writer, product designer, tournament fisherman, speaker, radio host and podcaster to name a few.
Ross fishes ice-out to ice-up on the Great Lakes. He spends the majority of the year walleye fishing on Lake Erie’s Western and Central basins.

Glad you liked it
Finally ! There good to see yah again bud great summer upload new baits lookin $ !
More to come!
We’ve been doing good on flicker 7s with the lead core. The best thing about this video that they don’t talk about is the trolling motor steering the boat. Game changer
Then quest ulterra is like having a extra person on board
@@Bigwaterfishing that’s seriously so nice not having to steer while reeling in the fish .. maybe one day
Okay, thanks for the info. I’m going to run both tomorrow in Port Burwell and see how they perform.
Was there on Sunday for the first time ever. How did you make out using the smaller baits, I only caught 2 on deep bandits and one on a reef runner 900
We caught 18 walleye in 2 1/2hrs. 57-59 ft. Leadcore, dipseys, and downriggers all caught fish using small spoons no colour preference.
keep up the good work. fall winter eyes coming and they are going to be mean.
4:15 "a little slow on the camera" hahahha Capt Ross not letting anyone slip an inch.. lol
if we slipping...we tripping....lol
?? Have you tried using the brown scented Berkley Power worms on your worm harnesses?
My experience is the Catch rate significantly drops without the real stuff with what is currently available on the market
Thanks for all the details of how to. Cap. now that we are into summer, what is your opinion on fizzing walleye that need to be released?
Fish in that warm water, especially as deep as almost of them are flat out dead released or not. Why we keep then this time of yr.
@@Bigwaterfishing thanks 👍
What using for your diver rods?
Do you ever use inline weights with your lures like thunder sticks
Almost never
Do you recommend using a snap swivel at the lure end of the leader when using a Dipsy?
Nope
@@Bigwaterfishing So, just a snap at each end of the leader?
@Moondog9322 yes sir
Check out our dipsy rigging video
What type of rods are you using for your dipsy divers?
Stay tuned on that one
Any special knots you need with leadcore?
We have a video dropping Tuesday that shows exactly how we rig up the leadcore
@@BigwaterfishingCan’t wait for that one!
Are your inter-line dipsy rods still available? If so what brand and model. Thanks.
stay tuned on that one
@@BigwaterfishingOK appreciate it.. I used them on Lake Ontario 20+ years ago, loved them!
I would also like to know where you got them. I have the old cabelas models and haven't been able to find them since.
@@connordayton8926 stay tuned
@@Bigwaterfishing any update on these rods?
How long are your diver leads. Thanks
all were different and changed hourly...gotta move them around
@Bigwaterfishing lol Sorry, I meant the lead from Diver to bait
@@john-re8gy 6 to 8 on spoons....longer on spinners or cranks at times
@Bigwaterfishing thanks man I fish out of Long Point nice fish right now
Boat control and forward sonar, why not just cast to fish
Fishing techniques are like mechanics tools...you.use them all...and I do
Can do without the rap crap...just sayin
Each to their own
