Harry says this to Ron in the Deathly Hallows book after he and Ron destroyed the locket horcrux in chapter 19 page 308 stating his feelings towards Hermione.
“ I love her like a sister and I reckon she feels the same way about me. It’s always been like that. I thought you knew.”
Ron and Hermione were written by J.K Rowling as the siblings and family that Harry never had growing up. She didn’t want Harry and Hermione together as they are too similar, a romantic relationship between them would be too serious and far too predictable.
