Another GREAT questions from our IG @projectpureathlete
This is another one of our more common questions. Should I jump off of 1 foot or 2 foot? Well...the answer is it's SUPER specific to the person when it comes to jumping your highest, but we ALWAYS teach people how to jump both to help them be a more complete athlete!

I’ve changed over the years I used to be 1 foot, then I changed to L,R and now I would say I’m R,L dominant. And I like it the best I think. But I’ve been incorporating the other jumps more and more lately trying to feel like a more complete jumper. My 1 leg is trash now and I used to sky off 1 but I think I just need to do it more.
Specificity always helps
i love doing a very high one foot jump off either foot onto the same foot i have jumped off of to build ankle stability and mechanical ease so i do so with only a quick drop step and nothing more. no run, just a quick pop off either foot onto the same foot. In fact, i also like to do this and land on my toes and always sure to keep knee bent upon touching the top so as to avoid locking the knee or hurting your heel. the quick drop step and the landing on the ball or even the toes while my knee of the landing leg is not locked at all, but flexible allows me to easily dismount if anything goes wrong. landing on the same foot you jump off of is more a coordination and straight athletic thing than what you'd want to practice for any sport imo, but it definitely allows for you to land without issue from most any angle
The #1 exercise for 1 foot jumpers (body weight and weight room) the #1 exercise for two foot jumpers (body weight and weight room)?
I play soccer and I am a goalkeeper. We require to have bounce and balance. We dive to the side and diagonally. I have played at pretty decent level despite my small height for a goalkeeper and I want to be able to jump higher to come out and snag crosses but also dive farther and be more flexible. I have no idea where to start . I always just play but I have no knowledge on performance training. It’d be great if you could help me with this as most goalkeepers undertrain since we don’t want to risk losing our flexibility!! Thanks!!
it's funny, i am a one foot jumper off either foot, but had to develop my right leg/foot's technique until they were even. The ANKLE stability for a one foot jump is the most important part aside from mechanics and strength in given leg imo
