- The Indian Removal Act of 1830 resulted in the forced relocation of over 15,000 Cherokee people--a third of whom died during the journey to Oklahoma.

Americans nowadays love telling people to go back to their countries when this only happened 200 years ago.
the biggest illusion is that people think that 200 was a long time ago and its in the past.. 200 was LIKE YESTERDAY
They always say remember Pearl Harbor, it's not that long ago. Lol
@@Go4Broke247 Peral harbour is nothing before this..i don't know the rich history of natives and brutality of US gov until Sadhguru is took an ride across america to meet all these native chiefs.
Lol they lied about everything in school lol
How is what happened 200 years ago relevant? America is the most free country in the world because of our past leaders. If you want to live under communism move to Venezuela or something
My Cherokee brothers and sisters I love y’all

I have a great great great great grandmother that was on that trail.
My great great great great grandfather was a soldier on the trail though, way down in Arkansas.

TheBluePanda Do you think native Americans won their land by treaty?
They were brutal as well they just weren’t as good at it.
FYI, it was named "the trail of tears " because of the many hastily dug graves along the rout. The indians were on a forced march. one third of the 15k Cherokee died along the way. The shallow graves were in the shape of tear drops.

Your Cherokee as Elizabeth Warren, and Chuck Norris, so quit saying your Cherokee, without any evidence to prove it.
Every Anglo-Americans(and other times Black Afro-Americans) say their great grandmother is Cherokee, including Elizabeth Warren, who only has 0.01% Amerindian blood in her ancestry, and you probably have that one drop of Amerindian blood, just as she does.
I am not telling you this to defend Cherokees.
What is so proud being a Cherokee, when they Genocidally Replaced several other Amerindian tribes, such as the Weapeamocs, Chowanokes, and Appalachees?
Why?
We supposed to had respected that

Thank you, - cherokee native from tulsa Oklahoma.
"God bless natives Americans!" is kind of weird considering that native Americans didn't believe in the Christian god AND they were forced out and killed or forcibly converted by the Europeans who stole their lands. The Spanish forced the natives to convert or die and similar stuff happened when the English arrived.

I remember when I was in high school, our football team used to go to Cherokee for our Spring Football Camp and get ready for the pre-season. That is a very beautiful place, sucks that they don't like black folk too much there though.
Which is crazy
Missed the mark on the overall impact, as there were many more tribes forced to Oklahoma on the "Trail of Tears"' not just Cherokees
In particular, it was mainly the "Five Civilized Tribes" as the United States called them. These are the Cherokee, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Creek, and Seminole.
@@RockSmithStudio Andrew Jackson adopted a Muscogee/Creek child name Lyncoya.
The Cherokee phrase is "The place where the tears fell." A Choctaw chief (which one is lost to history) is quoted as saying "It was a trail of tears and death" to an Alabama reporter several years prior. I don't know why that bothers me so much.
Rob Gorman lol Cherokees betrayed america? Who died and made you king??
No mention made of the Choctaw, Creek, Chickasaw or Seminole. I'm surprised the Cherokee don't have a trademark for the Trail of Tears.
Hopefully humans will learn from their countless mistakes.
Sadly, I doubt it. This kind of thing has been going on since dawn of civilization.
Human never change, no creature ever change.

@@axelfoley1406 The irony is, these settlers thought they were morally superior and that they were the civilized ones. Keep in mind the British at this point in time (1815) were seen as the world's best empire. And this is only 20 or so years after the American revolution meaning we were still rather weak.
Andrew Jackson was a war hero, and defended our nation against foreign invasion, though of course, he ended up doing the 'Tear of Trails' which is unfortunate, I just wish people would study more history instead of saying the ol' "America is bad and sucks".

Something so little, by comparison the Holodomor and The Armenian genocide are still denied by those countries that carried them out.
America today is truly a land of freedom, and respect for individual human rights.
Unless you're anything other than a straight, white man, then you still won't have your rights respected. America is far from the land of the free, it's a third world country only considered first world because of its wealth. It's a hellhole for anyone living in it, unless you're rich of course.
Not really. Parts of the states are just as bad as some third world countries. People don't want to look at the truth but it's right there. America is barely hanging on by it's teeth and with it's Pluto Return happening this year it's in for a lot more destructionm
It’s a shame and frankly disgusting how Americans won’t acknowledge the genocide that was committed to the Native American peoples.
This is anger arousal.

Why couldn’t the settlers just come in peace instead of taking and killing? Imagine how much bloodlines would still be around if we worked together? There was enough for everyone. Now this country, continent and earth are dying from the greed.
Violence and greed, languages of the man. This culture is supposed to reject them, but this country has exercised and glorified both so clandestinely.
