Today I decided to upload a video titled "Nintendo Sucks", and in it I talk about things that Nintendo (the gaming company that owns games like Super Mario Odyssey, Zelda Breath of the Wild, Pokemon Sword and Shield, Splatoon 2, and others) has and probably will continue to do stupid decisions that put them in a bad position PR wise. I'm sure Nintendo has their reasons for screwing over the Super Smash Bros. Melee community, and making Skyward Sword HD a 60 dollar port (and also locking fast travel behind an Amiibo Paywall), and making Super Mario 3D All-Stars a low effort timed release port, and so on (the reason being SHMONEY) but I honestly just wish Nintendo would stop making these stupid PR Decisions, and perhaps even fix Nintendo Switch Online, which for some reason still feels like i'm paying too much for it even though it's only $20 dollars a year.
In the original Nintendo Sucks, I touched briefly on the idea of a Switch Pro. The thought process originally for the switch pro was that it was a mid-gen refresh of the Switch with improved hardware to run more demanding games and allow developers more options with the games they’re currently developing. I mean it’s no secret that the Switch is underpowered, it’s the same as it’s been since it originally released in 2017, and even then it was pretty underpowered. With like, 90% of the trailers shown at Nintendo’s E3 spot in summer lagging at some point, it seemed like a bit of a no brainer to update the hardware, but instead we kind of just got very minimal improvements.
The Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack is stupid. Obviously I like the fact that we’re finally getting N64 games that can be playable on the switch, but the execution leaves a lot to be desired. The biggest issue here is the price of the thing. A whole 30 extra dollars every year just for the opportunity to play N64 games, essentially rent some animal crossing DLC, and also getting access to games that were on the SEGA Genesis. I’ve seen some people try to say that the point of the expansion pack is just to eventually expand the service to focus more on the idea of giving you access to a bunch of DLC for games without having to go out and buy those individual DLCs, but like, no. Nintendo knows exactly what they’re doing by forcing you to pay this much to get access to N64 games on the switch. It’s quite literally what EVERYONE was asking for, man I asked for it, I just didn’t think it was ever gonna happen. - Hry
Nintendo are just the definition of 'but you're still gonna buy it'.
The main reason is because if you don’t buy it, often times you really are missing out on something amazing. Sometimes, like with the expansion pack, there are alternatives. But usually, you’ll be way more inconvenienced not buying what they’re selling, than buying what they’re selling. AND THEY KNOW THAT!

It's been almost 5 years since the release of the switch, and the only themes we can choose from are black and white. I wouldn't have that big of a problem with it if they didn't put them in their own category, like if they put it in system and just calling it 'light mode' and 'dark mode' (which is what they're basically are) I wouldn't be making this comment.
Meanwhile the 3ds still gets new themes, like is something going wrong at HQ, is somebody putting themes on the 3ds that are actually meant for the switch?
Also, we still don't have music in the eshop and mii-maker, something that has been a thing since the inception of both.

It’s small things like this that are JUST annoying about Nintendo. They put SO much effort and polish into their 1st party games (most of the time) but THIS is what they struggle with.
It does feel off going from Odyssey to this, I'm not counting Smash Ultimate since Nintendo did not develop that, Sora did.
I'd argue struggle is the wrong word here. They clearly aren't trying to supply anything of quality with their NSO service, rather they're just trying to squeeze as much money out of people as they can with minimal effort.

As much of my time, money and memories are towards Nintendo and it’s products, I can’t say that they are even close to a wise company. So many issues, like the joy cons STILL having drift despite being proven that a square of cardboard can fix it permanently or the god awful emulation of the expansion pack, is simply baffling. While Nintendo understands how to make timeless and masterful games (Pikmin 3, Fire Emblem Three Houses, BOTW, I could go on for switch titles alone), they never understood services. Ever. We just got some online multiplayer in 2021, something done in 2006 on the Xbox.

Nintendo do mostly great games and consoles, even in this day and age, but a LOT of their recent business practices are quite baffling! Bro they still used windows 98 till 2020
wait until splatoon 3 comes out, they might even have the terrible servers to go with it to scam us out of our money.
Their consoles are trash. They are somewhat innovative but lack everywhere else. Their prices are ridiculous considering what they actually have to pay for producing a switch. Especially since these consoles never drop in price and people still support by blindly buying everything Nintendo sells.
Their joy cons are simple scam.
Their games are okay but nothing spectacular lately, they are very much dependent on nostalgia and primarily parents with no know how whatsoever

I don't care for the online service, since i don't like playing games online, which makes me an odd one, i know, but that's how it is. I don't care that they remaster old classics and charge full prize, because i WANT these games on my switch, desperately and i think the games i want are, and always will be, worth full price. What else? Let's see, i don't care for "lazy" ports, like Mario 3D allstars, if there aren't any game breaking bugs, anything else does not interest me, in the slightest. Limited time releases? I don't care, i just buy the games WHEN they are available and that's that and if that's not enough i'll find a way to buy these games, even if it means paying more, i don't care. If i really want a game, the price doesn't matter to me. You should get that through your skull, i decide what i value and what not. If you want to change Nintendo, use you own methods. Also, same since Gen 1? You seriously saying the PS1 is as powerful as a PS5?
@@CMGThePerson you are way focused on the technical aspects for which you could buy a PC and maintain your lifestyle at a high standard. For us humbe Gameplay people, we recieve our dopamin feedbacks from Nintendos outstanding games, that do not only focus on boring and shitty shooters or violent games with finisher quick time events. Literally every ps game ever.
The whole philosophy of playstation remained the same "lets hope the third parties bring us what we can not". now that they have dropped thir flagship, sony is unmasked as the amateur they always have been. And its time to come up with a better and modern name than playstation, it shows that they fear risk.
Ps Titles are shit, get over it.
I was a diehard Nintendo fan since the NES in the late 1980s to the N64 until I got my hands on a Playstation. Never bought another Nintendo console after the N64. And after the PS2, never bought another console after building a gaming PC. I have ascended with my brethren to the GPCMR.
i feel the same but still own a swich but regret it in way its like after the wii they started to suck
Funny enough; When I learned about the Nintendo Switch OLED it made me search up videos talking about it and I just so happened to find your video which is what made me subscribe so I guess some good came from it.
That said; I actually did go and buy 1 as I feel my original system may be on it's way out and to be honest, I really like the NS OLED, it has a really nice feel to it, the colours on the screen are just beautiful, and I do appreciate the Lan Port even if I did also buy a Lan adaptor but hey, at least now I can use that on my Nintendo Wii.
What are you doing with your old switch 😳

Fun fact, the snes classic mini, has way better hardware then you actually need, or are using, if you mod it, it is actually able to play anything up to n64 and some nds games, instead all you get for $80-100 is 21 shitty snes games with no way to get anything extra on it.

And you can use the controllers on the wii too

Well I can’t say you were wrong about getting Majoras mask in 2023
so the switch had an extra bluetooth receiver all this time that served no purpose until 4 years later when they decide to use it? Or did they just use one of the controller's BT receiver?
I adore Nintendo a lot as a game developer, but as a company it's the exact opposite
I just bought my first nintendo switch, it was the lite version. was kind of impressed at the performance and improvement... last nintendo console I play was nintendo wii.
I noticed the bluetooth audio is just out recently, and before the update people just kind of buy separate dongle... idk how they felt when suddenly nintendo goes "lol here's your bluetooth audio that you been asking for 4 years".
the price of the game is really crazy.. digital store is really stingy, and there was a good deal.. but overall, if there's no sale or event, the price of digital game is too expensive even though it been out for soo many years...
they also didn't provide a refund request. I bought saints row 4, and I didn't like the game.. as I try to refund, turned out they don't offer any refund request...
I been on google play store, itunes, AppStore, Playstation store.. they all offer a refund services or request even if I only make minor purchase ($1-$3). so, I'm not sure why nintendo doesn't offer refund services... it's so anti-consumer.
other than that, I think they are pretty good... they sell pretty intuitive and good graphics game..
I bought a ps4 pro and haven’t even considered a switch but
1: I feel that a $50 increase for the Oled switch is just, considering the large improvement in screen, build quality and features and
2: the lack of a switch pro shouldn’t be an issue considering the fact that if you wanted AAA games portably there are other options that are “reasonably” priced, once you understand how one company could create a portable system capable of the horsepower required
The gamecube was nintendo last REAL/SERIOUS console.
Yes, I was just about to say that. The last "good" console that had some parity with Sony and Microsoft. If I am being completely honest.... Nintendo hasn't made an exceptional powerhouse with good third-party supply since the Super Famicom/SNES.
I agree with almost all of this. However, I think given the current shortage of computer parts, it would have been detrimental to the consumer for them to release a switch pro right now. It would be very hard to get one, and scalpers would have a field day. If games came out that could only run well on the pro, then og switch owners would be worse off for it. Of course this is no excuse to not fix the joy cons. I still think the OLED was the best option in the current climate.
And it's only getting worse as wars are starting up if POTUS has his way. (His name is censored everywhere) and the trucker's strike gets worse but I fully support their actions as they have a file report system to make sure violence doesn't happen and they allow police vehicles thru to do their duty. NYC police have made their own convoy.
that sounds an aweful lot like a bad excuse which Nintendo would use 🤔
@@bumpsy I don't think this is an excuse nintendo would use, but rather something that nintendo fans would be upset about if they released the system upgrade and couldn't make enough units to meet demands.
I truly believe stryxos Nintendo videos will cause world peace.

The fact that people actually defend this garbage is astounding. Not even a lawyer would stoop low enough to defend nintendo.

What annoys me the most about Nintendo is that they have so much dormant IPs that have loads of potential. Like they could do so much stuff with Kid Icarus or F-Zero, but it feels like they choose to ignore them.
Sometimes I even think they should sell them so that they won't be wasted
@@custom-r Have not waste not. Nintendo should be 'environmentally friendly' to their IP's regarding when they sit too long without being used.

N64 games run better on my phone than the switch
If only Satoru Iwata never passed away
The joy con drift was supposedly fixed by adding some padding under the joystick
Nintendo downfall was when Reggie left and Santoru Iwata passed away. Everything was alright, good games, online didn't cost money and everything was nice. Once this all happened we have to pay for online because they need to compete with Sony and Microsoft. Nintendo doesn't care about their fans in the ways you think. They have these ideas but they just don't use them yet because they don't really care anymore. I mean the Wii/WiiU got 2 Mario Karts 2 Zelda remakes, the best Zelda game ever made, 2 Paper Mario games, amazing emulation on a console that still used AV and a good line up of games. Nintendo has taken a turn down a dark alley way that we don't really like. I think that Nintendo can do better with everything involving the brand and characters of Nintendo. I hope they do better and I mean it, Nintendo sucks right now and they need to do better.
Nintendo never had a downfall in a dark alley and they don't suck right now in fact their doing much better then the wii U era. They are doing much better right now and heading into the right dreaction
